Nice game! I liked the concept and I thought the gameplay was fun as well. The music was also nice and I liked its contrast between the two worlds.

Art in general, and animations in particular, are impressive. Way over the quality expected for a week-long jam.
Control feels quite hard. Maybe it's my computer, but I was experiencing some serious performance issues when running it on the browser that didn't allow for fine movement.
Music is a perfect match. I also appreciate that there's different themes for normal play, death event and death world. Even the dissonant melody made me feel at ease in the dead world!
In short, very impressive visually, but quite buggy in gameplay.
Very nice art style and concept. Loved the music too! Only issue I had was sometimes when i go to the dead realm I would spawn right next to an enemy and one step would kill me. Also saw some slimes under the platforms. But great game. Challenging and fun!
This was a really interesting concept! Moving between the living and the dead realm was such a cool experience. The way the visual effects were done in the background and in the sprites when you're in the dead realm really adds to the overall experience! The choice in art was super pleasant to look at, along with the music! Speaking of music, great job implementing the living and dead tunes (sounds similar but with different tones, which was really nice)! There were some cool movement options present and used to test the player in various levels, but I kind of think the movement could use a bit of work. The movement seems a bit too slow when the character art used gives the impression that he should a bit more agile than that (I think the speed should be a bit faster overall). Also, I don't really feel the weight of the hits that much. The sound upon hit is too quiet and I don't think there's that the enemies take that much knockback (fixing both of those could enhance the overall experience). Speaking of enemies, I really really like how enemies you killed come back when you go to the dead realm (its a really nice touch / feature that could probably be explored more). Overall, I enjoyed playing the game! It was fun to see some of the cool things you came with in your game, and I really enjoy the concept! Great job!
I really like the art style and some nice ideas like the double jump or the afterlife. But sometimes it's a bit difficult to see, maybe you can add more lights :) It was a pleasant little game, good job =D
the art is very nice. the main gameplay mechanic could have been more clearly explain and most of the time when I went in the realm of the dead I were killed by slime imediatly. but over all it's very cool
This has so much potential! But it seems a little buggy right now, and the death game mechanic feels like it could be explored further. The music is also pretty grating, but hey it's a game jam. The art, animation and effects are top notch and I'd love to see the game idea explored further.
Also is this a bug? I'm trapped in the wall!
That's all I meant! I hit it pretty early on so my impression was buggyness, though after playing the rest of the way through I didn't hit any problems so I may have overstated the buggyness.
I think all I did was run under that block I'm in and jump a couple times at the wall. Then i slid in and could jump around anywhere inside(and only inside) the wall so I climbed up into that block.
Wow this was a really good game, the art is really cool, the afterlife phases look neat and creepy, the gameplay is pretty good, but a lot slower than expected, with animations a little bit too smooth and the jump being a bit floaty, still a nice game that fits the theme nicely
Has a nice idea with swapping the world upon death overall was a cool game!
The movement was the only thing ruining the experience, the actual game is beautiful, and other mechanics were polished.
Nice job on the game. Gameplay is interesting and you created a lot of levels. There's a big delay on the jump causing it to feel extremely unresponsive and gravity feels a little low. The attack animation is very long and also feels unresponsive for a character that feels like they should be a lot more quick and nimble. I love the visual effect when you die. That was a "woah" moment for me.
I had an issue with the first required use of the double jump. When you're on a wall, your jump height is shortened, and I thought the game had wall-jumping rather than double jumping. This particular jump was shortened enough to prevent me from making that jump. So I had actually given up on your game until I seen a comment that mentioned double jumping. To prevent confusion, it might be better to make the first double jump requirement longer horizontally rather than vertically. Many people will assume wall jump over double jump if the platform is a lot higher than further away.
good stuff, the art is very nice and the music compliments it. I liked how the music changes when you die, then plays a triumphant bit when you return to life.
The jumping felt a bit clunky sometimes, specifically when double jumping if I wasn't already pressing the move key before double jumping or if I didn't time the left/right key properly then it wouldn't read the input and I would double jump straight up without strafing anywhere.
I only went a few levels in so I'm not sure if there were more mechanics introduced later on but if everything was shown in the first 5 levels then adding some extra features would really go towards adding replayability (perhaps different types of enemies with different movement patterns).
Overall was enjoyable and fit the theme, good job!
Thanks for the feedback. I have improved the jumping a bit, but it definitely still needs some work. You're definitely right about having some more enemies/variety. I think considering the jam time I should have made some variants on the slimes to have some variety (like hue shift them and then have a faster one)
The effect to go to after life is well done! I felt the dash / sword movement was a bit hard to control. Good job on the mechanics and the theme.
