Played your game on stream. If you wanted to watch me go through it I've got the vod below timestamped to your game

Loved it! The bug boss is overkill tho XD

Visuals, sound effects and overall the mechanics is really fun. Maybe currency need to come from enemies, not from holding the currency thing.

Developer

Haha, the boss got you? :P

Ah, enemies do give currency based on their original max HP, maybe I'd need to make it more obvious. Big enemies like ... big bug bosses for instance ;) give a looot of currency haha

You took hold of my dopamine receptors and didn't let go until I finished the last level! Super addicting and fun! I love they style of auto-clicker and tower defense. Wonderful game!

Developer(+1)

Haha, that's really food to hear ^_^

Stay tuned if you want more, we'll continue developping the game after the jam! :)

Really like the minimalist look to this, and the music fits really well. The intro was amusing. I liked that idea of being able to harvest money on the left and the upgrade system. One thing I found was I just clicked my mouse button and never let go, just dragging the cursor wherever needed. There was no need to lift as far as I could tell.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it! ^_^

Did you install any towers? :O That's pretty much the only time where you have to .. alternate clicks a bit I guess haha, otherwise yeah just holding. ^_^

I'm a big fan of the graphics! (Use a pixel font everywhere for more cohesion though!) the overall plant vs zombie but it's a PC screen is just very convincing. Great work here, keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I wasn't sure how to set up a pixel font in the engine haha, so every pixel font is actually an exported image for now x _x"

Definitely will be something I'll look into post jam :) Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! <3

Its just amazing in every possible aspect! Incredible work in such short period of time, lookin forward to play the full version)

Developer

Thanks so much!! ^_^

That's very good to hear -- Stay tuned then! It will definitely get updated post jam :)

This is such a cute but brilliantly made game. This was done in one week?!
You have various enemy types, brilliant music, good animations and actual difficulty levels? Dang.

The only thing I would want is a way to know either where the enemy is coming from or what's the range of the ranged towers. It's a little confusing to know where to place them.

Excellent game. Good luck!

Developer(+1)

Yeah we had a busy week hehe ^_^ the game had literally no content (levels) a few hours before the deadline haha, it was a stressful night

Ah yeah maybe some arrows warning you from incoming waves (showing where they'll spawn), good idea!

And yeah range indicators for the towers, definitely ^_^ coming soon!

Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback <3

The first minute I didn't know it autoclicked on hold, oof lol. Great art and coherent story. Wish I could see what ranged towers are aiming at. At first I thought they had to be in the lane with the enemy Plants vs Zombies style.

Developer

Yeah a range indicator was definitely on the to-do list but couldn't fit it in the schedule, thanks for reminding me! ^_^

Projectiles were also to be included for ranged units, coming soonTM!!!

Submitted(+1)

It's very very fun,  ican easily spend hours playing

Developer

Aw that's so good to hear ^_^ thank you for playing <3 <3

Submitted(+1)

I liked how you could shape the enemies path with your units and having lots of difficulties definitely helped, really good job overall!

Developer

Really glad you liked it!! ^_^ Thanks for playing <3

Did you use some melee cats or mostly archers? :O

Submitted

I mostly used melee cats actually lol :3

Very fun and very polished! Loved the 1-bit sprite art and the cute/retro-computing aesthetics. The tutorial is also very well done, the player is told the basics in less than 30 seconds and then the difficulty nicely ramps up so they figure out the rest on their own. At least that's how it felt for me who isn't very familiar with autoclicker and tower defense games.

There really isn't much to criticize, but some minor nitpicks if you want:

  • I feel like the main menu visuals clash with the rest of the game, I think keeping it black and white and conveying the difficulty in another way would feel more cohesive.
  • audio-wise the liquid DnB works well with the internet/early-2000s vibe, but I think leaning more into the cat/cute vibe like you did in the intro and the main menu could also be nice. Some meow sfx here and there could be cool too
  • on the main menu, right clicking adds a blue square to the background, that doesn't seem intentional
  • custom animations for enemies instead of the squish and stretch would add some polish

Congrats on delivering such a complete and fun game in a week!

Developer

It's very kind to leave such a detailed review, thanks Tey! ^_^

I appreciate the nitpicks a lot, that's the most helpful feedback hehe :)

• Agree 100%. I also might have some rethinking to do to incite players to pick higher difficulties too, I feel like most players end up finding the game too easy.

• Making the audio cute sounds really good, I'll keep that in mind. So you'd change the soundtrack, or you think adding cute SFX on top of the soundtrack would be enough cuteness? I could also potentially make easier difficulties have a cuter/lighter soundtrack.

• o_o" yeah its not haha

• True! Like maybe death animations and also walking animations when it fits I guess?

Thanks so much for playing & giving feedback, I'm happy you had some fun ^_^

ps: When do you plan to make an other game, will you join other jams soon?

I'd definitely add some SFX yeah. The soundtrack is honestly fine, I just found it not very cohesive between the intro/main menu where it feels more video-gamey and the actual game where it's less so. Custom tracks keeping the high-energy drumlines and airy pads, but with some more retro synths in line with the main menu music would be what I'd try to go for. But it's a lot of time investment for not the greatest payoff, so definitely in the nitpick department.

I don't have any jams on my radar right now, I'll be on the look out for the big ones though when they get announced. I really want to work with a team for once. I do have a little game project I'm working on, and maybe I'll pick up Florordination again after voting ended, you and other encouraging folks definitely motivated me to do so :^).
