How does your game implement the focus, Multi-Use?
The multi-use device in this game is the devil's trident. The player is in control of the devil and needs to chase and catch all the humans that run around in hell and throw them into lava pits. To do so the trident can be use in several ways: it can be used to poke humans to make them jump, it can be used to ram it into the ground to block humans from falling off of cliffs, and it can be used to build a bouncy platform to catapult humans throught the air.

What tools did your team use to construct the game?
Godot, Asesprite, Cubase, Affinity, Clip Studio Paint
Which art and audio did you / your team NOT create?
Most of the assets are bought or were free like the base lava tileset/backgrounds, the devil, the ice door sprites, tutorial input sprites, and the font in the credits screen.
All other visuals are modifications of these base assets, like the humans and some custom animations.

Looks and sounds really good. The theme is wicked and humorous. I laughed hard the first time I fell in the lava and it didn't hurt me.
The jam focus is implemented well. There are lots of things to do with the trident.
My main issue was that I had a lot of trouble herding those annoying humans. Just like real life...
Thanks for playing and enjoying the game! :) It would feel weird, if the devil got hurt by lava, right? :D Humans can be soooo annoying, but that is why we have the trident and can at least poke them until they obey. And if it takes ages to herd them, well it's their butt that gets poked.
Really solid platformer! I like the tutorials and controls, and how you use the tridents for multi-use was clever. I really cant think of anything negative. Impressive that this was your first game in godot.
Thanks for playing and liking the game! :) To be fair, it was not my first rodeo with a game engine (many many years of using Unity) but after a couple of Godot tutorials it seemed like a good idea to join the Game Jam and do a small game. Can't say I'm not happy with the result.
Wow! well executed. The art style is cohesive and the mechanics are pretty cool. The Audio gets pretty repetitive after a while. Lacks a little bit of polish in things like particle effects and such but great game overall!
Thanks for playing and the feedback! I asked my sound guy two days before the deadline for help. Awesome planning on my side :D I'm quite happy with the audio right now but of course doing more dynamic stuff and variety would be awesome but was not an option for this jam. Maybe for the next. And then also some awesome particle effects. It was my first real try of using Godot so I'm quite satisfied with the result but it can always be better :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Really good game with clever mechanics! I enjoyed visuals too, even though i would probaby tweak a bit the controls cause i found them to be a bit counterintutive and frustrating at some points.
Would you mind playing and rating my game too?
Thanks for playing and the feedback! Could you elaborate what you found counterintuitive and frustrating, please?
And of course I'll give your game a try and rate it :)
I found it was difficult to remember the controls and perform the actions i wanted. Maybe it's just because i'm used to move with WASD and jump with SPACE, it's quite subjective.
Oh yes, I totally get that. I also had trouble with the controls because I'm not used playing platformer games with a keyboard. Maybe I will add a custom key menu after the jam or at least more control schemes and also gamepad support. I also hate when games don't have custom keys but it's a game jam after all :D
Really great jam game !
Everything it top notch ! the visuals & animations are very cute ! the sound design is very neat (the humans noises are hilarious) the use of the theme & limitation is also very clever.
I would have love to play a few more levels !
Great work !
Thanks for playing and the very positive comment! :) There is no final decision yet but maybe I will add more content after the jam. The blocker trident is really underutilized and I have some level ideas left that I couldn't add because I was running out of time. So stay tuned!
I also really liked your game even though I cheated to finish it, but hey, if there is a cheat button I will use it :D
Very very cool idea for the theme and game concept. The art is also very well done and I like how you animated the background
Thank you for the nice comment and playing the game! The background turned out better than expected. It's basically just a shader moving everything around. I'm glad I moved the animation to the background and did not keep it in front of everything like before. It made me quite dizzy :D
Nice game. Very satisfying poking puny mortals into the fiery pits of hell.
As some other comments mentioned, it would be good to have an alternative control scheme where you can use wasd.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for playing and the nice comment! :)
I'll try to add at least some alternative control schemes after the jam, having WASD and Gamepad Support in mind.
Wowie, What A Cool Game, Never Expect Something Like That From This Theme And Focus, I More Expected Cooking Games ;P
Thanks for playing and the nice comment! I mean technically throwing people into lava could count as cooking too :D
I'm glad you like it! You should have seen it two days ago... way less impressive :D
Really cute game. My only complaint is maybe you should be able to use A & D instead of only the arrow keys but otherwise, amazing game!
Thanks for playing and the feedback! I will probably add a custom key menu (my preferred option) or at least several control schemes to the game to choose from after the jam and for sure gamepad support! For the jam I was running out of time unfortunately.
Love the concept. One of the more unique implementations of the theme. A buttery smooth experience.
Thanks for playing and your kind words! :)
Funny and cute game! Nice work!
Thanks for playing! :)
That was a great game! the jump height should be a little higher but other than that I had a lot of fun playing it.
Thanks for the feedback! You're right, some platforms are a bit to hard to reach when not using the double jump. I just didn't want to risk messing with the feel of the character that's why I added the double jump instead, when I found out that a single jump is not enough :D
You can actually leave the double jump in the game after editing the jamp, It will be even more better.
Very clever and fun platformer. Very well put together!
Thanks for playing! :)
I really loved that you could just walk on the lava, and didn't have to worry about that while platforming.
Thanks for playing! I didn't want to make the platforming super hard, the focus was always on moving the humans around. And after all you play the devil and it would be weird if he would drown in lava :D
Really well done and executed!
Solid gameplay. Clean and distinctive art. Fitting sound effects and music.
Fits the game jam focus and theme.
Overall, a very well polished game and a job well done.
Thanks for the nice feedback! :)
