How much time was taken?
Streamed my development and kept to 3 hours per build

Use of theme?
Chain Reaction, the goal of the game is to destroy all ships by making them aggravate each other in the CrossFire of trying to shoot you in a giant chain reaction.

Use of diversifiers?
Used the Windows Colour Filters to modify the enemy colours so they're distinguishable to colour blind people. Also added support for ZQSD and IJKL alongside WASD. There's an endless spawning mode at the end of the levels but I doubt that counts as procedural =P. I also think I gave the Game Page pretty good theme.

Did you have fun?

Thought it was a shooter. Turns out to be a great puzzle game!

Amazing idea. I liked the different types of enemies and that there were plenty of levels.

Great idea.  Would have loved to see more levels but given the short timespan, I can see where that was tough to make each level work correctly in the time allotted.  Love the infinite spawning at the end.  Really neat bonus.

I like it. I found it very difficult to win. But the difficulty is part of the challenge. I didn't like music. The graphic style instead yes. I'm curious to see other levels.

Well done!

Developer

Thanks, glad I put the hints in the levels if it was difficult. Im still learning sound design atm, its currently my 2nd game I've made the music for, but I'm glad you liked the graphic style. I might revisit this to make a proper game out of in the future. Thanks for the feedback anyway =)

Hi!
It's a nice take on the theme, and pretty fun to make the enemies fight each other for you

This is a nice idea for chain reaction, I like the 'set it up and watch it happen' concept. The SFX and polish could use some work but it's a satisfying game to play

Developer

Thanks, I think the first thought I had was of that Shotgun Grid level where each shotgun would sequentially and accidentally annoy 2 more shotguns with each shot just by the nature of the gun

really like the chain reactions - it's a neat concept. I wish you'd  made your bullets like 10x bigger, but other than that it's a cool little concept!

Developer(+1)

Thanks =) and yeh In hindsight the bullets maybe should've been larger. I spent a considerable amount of time tweaking a few things to make the enemies hit each other more often, like putting a limit on how far an enemy will shrink from damage so that they can always reasonably be hit, but it never occurred to me to make the bullets larger instead

Clever implementation of chain reactions for a puzzle game. Good work!

well done! cool levels are too easy for a hint

Developer

Thanks lol, was just a bit wary of getting it the other way round, since if you're not aware you need a precise shot in some levels, you could get stuck pretty easilly

Nice work. I love the theme and the puzzles. Looking forward to the next builds.

Developer(+1)

Thanks =) Gonna try add proper artwork, sound and polish it off in my final build

I love how smooth the movements are and how polished it looks! It would just be nice to add zqsd controls and more ennemies.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeh the first build was just a Mechanics test, In the next 2 builds Im gonna focus on Level design, Diversifiers, and then Polish it with proper art. Thanks for the feedback though =)
