I loved playing this. Sometimes, this is all the videogame I need. Shooty-stick and zombies.
Side note: "Night of the Living Dead" is one of my favorite films! Might be emotionally manipulating me into loving your game more, but I don't mind.

Nice game! The art style and the animations look very cool. Shooting mechanic was smooth & reload took a reasonable amount of time. Killing zombies was challenging and fun at the same time. Considering you made this in 5 days, Great entry! ππ»
That's a fun little arcade type shooter, my high score was 457 lol. I am not sure if you could get more bullets, I never ended up finding any, but turns out you can survive the zombie apocalypse by running around a big house.
Ok jokes aside, I had fun and I did spend quite some time testing it and seeing what is the best way to gain points and such. I seriously might have been just missing all the health/bullet drops if there was any. I think in terms of gameplay it is solid, but I feel the game lacks the incentive to actually kill zombies. Maybe I suck at playing, but all the time I did attempt to actively kill zombies I ended getting way more hurt, so I kinda just figured I didn't need to do anything else but to run around to gain points over time. If there was sprint mechanic or something else that forces you to defend yourself in other ways the gameplay loop would become more sturdy. But then again, maybe I suck at these type of games, so take everything I said with a grain of salt ^^
Overall I liked the vibe of the game, the low-res style and sounds went nicely, the atmosphere was just perfect to show that "night" part of the title, but not too dark to hinder the more active gameplay. The zombies looked really fun too heh. So I had fun, great work!
It's really neat how the positional sound is your greatest tool here. Shotgun+zombies may not be the most original idea but the BLAM and the audio cues helped this game out a lot.
My bad - my previous comment was not related to that entry - note to self: Don't have multiple tabs open when rating :'D
Fun gameplay, sweet feedback on the shotgun - although some camera shake would really spice it up. The zombies are quite agressive, as someone already mentioned below - but I actually enjoy it since you need to have the Doom gene in you to succeed :) The only thing I'd change is the attack range of the zombies. It sometimes felt unfair to get hit.
Also, I love the aesthetics! Hit a sweet spot for me.
Overall, great entry! Nice job, keep it up ;)
Really enjoyable game, nice animations and very well polished for 5 days in development! nice work! Would love to see some varying enemies after a while
I have some slight issues with this one, namely stuff like zombies being oppressive, but since people mentioned that I'll lay off on it lol. Only other thing I'll say is that basically from the first frame of an attack, you can't interrupt it in anyway; even if the zombie is dead, the attack still "comes out" and hurts you, which doesn't feel great.
The style is nice! Like, it's definitely playing off that whole spooky PS1 aesthetic, but it's doing it in a decent way. The start lighting around doors is a nice touch, something I always personally love.
The feedback on the shotgun is nice, but for the bombast of the sound and the muzzle flare, I feel like it should be a bit stronger? The damage fall off from point-blank to a couple feet away seems pretty decent. Still, felt good. Maybe the *tiniest* bit of screen shake or recoil could sell the shot even further?
Honestly, as much as I'm railing on it to a degree, I had a great time with this one. Really fun, and you clearly have a good idea of what you're doing. Great job!
Fun shoot-em-up game. More of an action game than a horror game so an intense song to get you pumped up would be a nice addition. The shooting feels good but the difficulty curve seems a little steep.
Very fun shooter. I tried to survive as long as I could and even did multiple retries. I sometimes got lucky with health and ammo drops but most times they were rare, I got swarmed before I could get any item drops. The game doesn't give you time to recover between waves of zombies, and the spawn rate is much much faster than the rate you get recovery items for health and ammo. Not to mention the zombies close the distance extremely quickly and there's no way to 'stagger' or stun them.
Still, I had a lot of fun. The gunplay feels very satisfying. And like others have pointed out, some doom-like soundtrack would go a long way of making this game feel more intense and exhilarating. Nice game overall. Congrats!
This game is so fun to play, unfortunately I suck at killing zombies hahaha
Serious, I've had a good time playing this!
The style is awesome too! Good to see projects from Unreal btw!
Congrats for your game!
I put some doom music on in the background and this game was legendary.
The game is a lot of fun, I always enjoy a good doom like. the gameplay is great, and the graphics are really cool. I sadly had to play the game in powerpoint mode since I wouldn't get above 5 fps. but that's not the games fault.
Great game. Keep it upβ₯
