Wow! This game was amazing! The overall art style and sound effects were great. The tunnel sequence was very scary (I really liked the way water looked & moved in the tunnels). It felt like a segment of some great episode from the twilight zone. Great Entry! ๐๐ป

The graphics of this game reminds me a lot of mid 2000s games, and I adore it. The mirror room with the screaming and crying sounds freaked me out but I enjoyed the puzzle element. The sewer was so tense and I found myself scared, especially since the sound design was very well done. Great entry!
I really liked this experience, quite immersive, the graphics reminded me of horror games from 2012-15 or Half life which is great, I liked the part where you had to stay still and listen, the plot twist was interesting more I think it could have been executed in a different way, it wasn't very impressive but I did like it
I loved the ending! Very cool entry, and the flashlight puzzle actually had be a little freaked out :D
Nice!
I really liked the mirror puzzle, it was quite obvious to me but I've played a fair share of puzzle games in my life. Sweet effects, nice water shader - overall, interesting entry :D
I left with more questions than answers, but in a good way.
The puzzle room was a little confusing at first, but it may be clearer in any future updates with a player sprite/avatar showing up in the mirror as well.
My favorite part was the room with all the water and walls that kinda look like meat, I did love the sound and flashlight mechanic.
I can't install the game via the itch client which is a tad annoying. You can fix this by checking the windows icon next to the uploaded file in the edit game page. This allows the installation button on the client to work. I'm not sure if it will work for .rar files though. I know it works for .zip.
Escape is a bit of a dangerous button to have for closing a game. I know you say it at the beginning but I feel its easy to forget and just try and open a pause menu. Also, most people will just alt+F4 anyways.
Left click is an OK control for interacting but I feel most people are more familiar with E. Although this critic is a bit more nit-picky.
I can get stuck rubbing against the walls. I'm fairly sure you can get by this in Unity by added a physics material to your rigid body that has its friction set to 0. That or perhaps using the built-in unity kinematic character controller which I don't think would have the same issue.
I ended up getting stuck in the room with the keys. I'm not sure if that puzzle was solvable once you're in it. It it wasn't, (if I needed something else before) I'd recommend not locking the player in an unsolvable area. From some of the other comments it seemed like there were other areas in the game. I'm sad I didn't get to see them.
Overall a pretty decent submission.
Edit:
Thanks to your explanation I was able to play through till the credits. The mirror mechanic was cool once I understood what it was but because of the way it was set up it didn't immediately look to me like a mirror; though again it was cool once I understood it. I like the variety in mechanics.
The wall sticking was still annoying. For the sewers I feel I should either walk faster or not have to back track all the way. The flashlight and stop moving mechanic was cool but the monster maybe made the sound for too long so I ended up just standing there for the whole time it growls.
Also I could see specular in the water without the flashlight making the flashlight being off not as scary.
The monster through the wall was cool and a little unnerving. I didn't realize until I made it to the big door that that was what you meant by "big" door I was kinda thinking some gate I didn't see.
Overall a pretty cool horror experience and I'm glad I got to play it all the way through.
Hello ! Every section in the game are independant from one another, so you shouldn't get stuck on an area. Maybe if you explain to me which problem blocked you, I may help you?
I understand your point on the control scheme, especially the escape button. Getting stuck rubbing on wall is due to the player hitbox being a bit huge but as it wasn't game breaking, so I focused on other elements.
I hope the experience wasn't too bad even if you didn't make it to the end !
The room near the start where you step on a red key and it disappears and another one appears. There was a blue box thing that I couldn't move past and it had the last key. The door behind me was also locked after I went through it.
The experience was neat regardless. The aesthetics looked cool even if the art was simple.
I've delete the answer to not spoil future player, if you have time please try my game once more, just so you don't leave with a bad impression because you couldn't finish it. I noted my puzzle could be misleading and I'll do better indication in my future games, thanks for the feedback.
I'll test your game soon !
I just saw your edit, I'm glad you gave it a second chance !
Mirror looking more like a glass than a mirror is a feedback I got from several people, so it's definitely something I'll check, I need to understand how to make a good mirror, and good graphics in general considering this is the main flaw of my game.
The levers opening the gate was also something misunderstood, and I concluded it was because of a lack of direct link between them (like cables starting from the metal door and going to the levers). Also, several people didn't get the large gray rectangle at the beginning was a gate, it's still part of the graphics being lacking.
Anyway, thanks you for taking the time of playing and reviewing the game a second time !
Up to the sewer section the game was unassuming. But that sewer section, jesus. Had me shitting my pants, even after i realised that the threat was not physical. Great job, next time upgrade your graphics a bit. Also i would love a breakdown of that water shader, looks so cool.
This was fun! I especially liked the mechanic of having to stop and be quiet in the sewers. Also the mirror room was interesting. Good job on making something new and fresh!
I was so scared in the sewer that had to turn off game. It's just brilliant done horror, respect! It's a pity that i don't have enough knowledge of english to express all my admiration for your game.
The sewer portions were excellent. I enjoyed the twist too. This is my favorite sort of jam entry -- tries out some new things and serves a demo for a variety of ideas. My one complaint is that I wanted to keep my hammer haha.
This was great horror! Would be nice to see a full future version
Short but sweet, I mean sweet as in a good game. The varied mechanics made sense and some moments did get me tensed up, so good job on that too! I think there is some potential to expand few parts, like the mirror part and the final sequence. If I had to change something I'd maybe do more textures for walls and floors and so forth, but that's whatever. Regardless I had fun playing going through it, good work.
Thank you for this full review !
I did many errors while designing the graphic side of the game and I feel like all this will be corrected to be more appealing in another game. As you're the second person to tell me I could extend the experience, the idea started to grow on me but this mean I have to throw away most part of the code and redo it properly this time.
Anyway I'm happy you enjoyed the experience, I'll check your game too in the week :)
I can only say: Good job!! It has a simple but very effective aesthetics. The sounds, the atmosphere of the maze, and a surprising end! Expand it, please.
I played it in the middle of the night on a ultra wide monitor and shaaat my pants in the sewer section.
09/10 may need some performance improvements.
