Super engaging game! The art, gameplay and audio gel together really well to make it an incredible experience.

Well thought out and carefully done. There's a few nice things here that ease the player into the game, like the initial rooms that teach the basics, no instakilling, the clear interactability indicators and key prompts, which I massively appreciate in a game I only have a quck moment for. The game explains itself very well with graphical and sound cues.
Well done, rated highly.
Super cool game. One small detail is I would like to make player rotation with mouse, while moving with WASD. It could make the game feel better and smoothly. I was skipping heartbeat for some moment when the ghost get close to me haha!
Very cool! I was actually really enjoying this game! My only frustration was that the movement was a bit glitchy on my computer - like it was moving too fast and I was constantly overshooting my targets or running past doors and unable to enter to escape the big scaries.
Overall, I thought it was great. Just needs tighter controls and smoother movement, for me.
damn, very spooky indeed. the art for the monsters and the sound are creepy (in a good way). love the game!
Nice game! I'm not really a fan of horror games, but I liked how this one is not about jump scares and just focus on a fine gameplay.
Really cool gameplay, well thought out series of gameplay moments at the start to teach the player how stuff works!
The visuals are great, the lighting is very well done and gives off a very nice sense of atmosphere.
In terms of feedback:
As pointed out by other comments, sometimes you die because the monsters keep their previous position. Also it can be a bit hard sometimes to run by the ghosts that fly around since it's difficult to tell where they're going.
It could also work really well if you added a small musical cue for when the tension music ends. It can feel a bit choppy if the music just ends abruptly if, for example, you switch rooms. So maybe adding a small cymbal or some other sound that fits your atmosphere and putting it right as the other music cuts off can add a really big sense of completeness to the soundscape.
It seems that when you get a game over the game gets slowed for your next playthrough. I had to reload the game a bit when I lost!
Great work on this entry, keep it up!
Omg you gave me a really good idea for free, that cymbal thing is genius. Also the slowing time is some bug that i just discovered 10 min before the release so i corrected but maybe is there some edge cases i didn’t covered.
I hope it didn’t remove the joy of playing, thanks for the really good feedback!
Great game! I loved the atmosphere, the art and the music/sound came together beautifully. I would love to be able to use my flashlight to spook the ghost that can kill you tho! Great work
This game should be on the top rated ones ! I had a blast playing it , i love how intuitive the gameplay is
There is so much great stuff about this game. The fact that you ensured the player added their name was small yet brilliant. The subtle hint to add your name.. perfect. Also how you teach the player how to play the game without actually telling them is also brilliant and easy to follow. The music changing with the bad guys showing up... all of it. This is one of the top tier games of the Jam so far.
Omg so cool that someone notices this small things that we made in the game :) thank you a lot for the feedback!
It was really intense haha, the worse was that we discover a really bad bug 20 minutes before de deadline so we had to correct and build again the game to publish.
Just for curiosity, the bug was that after dieing the game turned slower forever zzzzz, this was caused by the death animation wich turns the game a little slower and because of the order of function calls the code that turned time back to normal was not being trigger.
Nice! Love that you went for a horror-based game. Really fun and unique. The flashlight mechanic is great, and I love the overall aesthetic. I know the game jam required you to implement a leaderboard but I actually think this would be great as a story-based game with lore around the mansion and ghosts. Really nice work!
Hey thanks for the feedback :)
Yeah my initial plan was to have some whole screen drawed 2d animations moments (Like opening the first door and seeing the first monster) to give a little more depth.
Unfortunately i didn’t had the time, but maybe in a post jam version i could improve from that.
Thanks again!
Since monsters stay in position when you leave a room sometimes when you die theres another monster ther so you just die again, otherwise its super cool and fun to explore and find the right path forwards!
Atmospheric, nice sounds and lighting. Doesn't really feel like leaderboard-based game, but overall interesting.
Just a little bit too hard for me :)
Not cool when monster kills you just after entering new room.
I like the graphics and the gameplay, a horror game but from a 2D perspective, pretty well done!
Really cool game, the movement felt buttery smooth and the footsteps were really good! I liked the graphics and the monster faces! Only thing I have to say is that when I got hit, it didn't feel like I got hit just that it teleported me around. Maybe adding a flashing red or an oof sound effect would of had it feel like I actually got hurt. I really like the level layout and the sound though. Great work<3
Nice small game. A bit easy once you know where to go but good for first playthrough.
good dark armosphere and sound effects.
Not quite sure how to score in this game but I managed to survive for 1:24 seconds!
