  • Good art but unfortunately too glitchy even when accounting for the jam theme.

Congrats on the submission!

Very cute character design. I loved it but it ended so suddenly.

We wish we could have polished it a bit more but thanks for trying it out! :)

Basic, but kinda funny platformer tbh. Obviously a few things are lacking, but what's there is pretty nice, so good job for that :)

Very nice and smooth animations. I kinda didn't know what was going on at the start, but when i figured it out it was nice to play to the end :)

Definitely lacking a few things lol thanks for the feedback and for trying it out though! :D

Really interesting concept. Love the idea to use glitches to solve the platforming puzzles. This is a really promising prototype! I love that you went with a hand-drawn art style for this too. It looks really nice, great palette, and the art is super readable. Getting the enemies to freeze in the right spot was pretty challenging for me, but maybe that's a skill issue. I think a very generous coyote time would also help the platforming feel a bit smoother.

I think I made it to the end but wasn't really sure what to do when I got here. Nice work overall!

Developer

You did make it to the end!  I unfortunately was fixing bugs and enemy behavior that were necessary to build more challenges up until the last minute.  There were still art assets and puzzle ideas I would have loved to bring in, but didn't have the time to implement and test.

I totally agree with the coyote timer, and you're not alone in having challenges with getting them to stop in the right spot.  I already had eased physics calculations on enemies in anticipation of this, but I didn't have the opportunity to tweak it for difficulty.  I think maybe tonight I'll look into fixing some of the glaring issues here and submitting a second project that can show a more complete picture of the idea.

Thank you for your feedback, and congrats on making it to the end! :P

The art on this game is really nice! Particle system also is very satisfying!

Great job, mechanics were unuxpectedly creative! Also cute graphics

NIce work with the characters and the designs. i struggled with freezing the chocolate in mid air to use a platform. This was very creative but every time i land on the chocolate, i slid off.  Nice use of the chocolate. Not sure what the staff was for though. I though the staff was initially a fire to melt the chocolate. 😅

As others said, the visuals are nice. Why did you choose the candy world? I think it's really cute, I was just wondering why candy.

Also the game mechanic is very innovative imo. I can see you put a lot of thought into it, handling them in the air, starting the spawn loop again when they disappear. Overall great job, even if you couldn't implement everything you wanted due to time constraints, as I can see from the other comments. I had the same problem TT

The candy world inspiration came from adventure time! I wanted to do something colorful and fun to look at ! ^_^

I'm glad that you liked it!

Sociopathic marshmallow: The Game

Nice little entry. Visuals are definitely the best aspect of this game, all animations look really smooth.

Keep up the good work!

Really love the animation and character design and the gameplay is intuitive enough but it could really use some music and sound , im a little biased saying that but thats how it felt

Developer

I agree!  So many things left unfinished/unrealized.  I was tweaking enemy interactions up until the last second.  If I had just a few more hours I would have been able to add a lot more ideas for challenges in addition to music/sound and the proper tileset.  Thanks so much for playing it and for the kind words!

Nice – I like the characters and the keyframed animations look great!

Developer

Thank you!  I had a few bugs with godot's IK system and ended up scrapping it.  You can maybe start to see why there is no sound or polished tiling :)
