How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
The Original idea was a gamified looper that makes the music production process fun. The game's mechanic makes use of the microphone (on the players phone/computer) to record snippets of audio. At first the purpose of the mechanic was to create loops, but after testing with some friends. We learned that the game was not obvious without some direction. Once players understood how to play, many said that they couldn't hear the audio while recording the loop. The audio would only become audible after already being recorded. After much thought we decided to build around this idea by rebranding as a chance sampler. Therefore the bug we built around was randoming inserting "found sounds" into a trigger sequencer to generate rhythms by chance. A few extra features we add were:
allowing the player to upload their own songs
no monitoring the sound while its being recorded.

Did you include a fake publisher splash screen at the start of your game?
Did you use the Audius API in your game?
If AI was used in your game, let us know how you used it.
There’s no AI assets used but we got a little help from AI when debugging the code, so if that counts then I guess so.

Would have been nice to have inbuilt sounds we didnt have to upload
Noted. will include that next time.
It seems like a good idea, but even after reading and watching the tutorial, I didn’t quite understand how to play.
Curious, how far along did you get? or did you just give up on figuring things out?
This could make a really cool polished game/tool with some work, neat idea.
Agreed! planning to explore the mechanic a lot more. i think the mechanic has the potential to be friendly to the visually impaired.
