OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:

I really love the music (seriously!! really nostalgic tune), cartoony graphics, and voice work (although maybe we don't have to hear the 'left, right' every single time). Obviously this is unfinished, but I think it has potential, especially if you embrace it being a self-aware parody.

Really loved the idea! It's indeed funny, and I don't know if it is for the music or some kind of nostalgia, but I found it quite beautiful too.

I didn't get the background the first time... but I replayed and it was really really a cool idea.  I honestly loved it!

Great work!

I would love to see this more complete in the future, would be really funny experience!

Had to reload a couple times and swap browsers to get the background to load, but it's a really cool idea!

Now that was pretty funny! Background didn't load for me the first time as well so half the joke was lost, but I reloaded. I can imagine it gets a little annoying to hear the directions being read all the time though, but curious to see how this can be developed further!

Great game :)

The background (player) didn't load the first time I played and I managed to go outside the map after taking the potion somehow.

Anyway, I liked the concept so much, keep improving it!

Awesome meta! You've managed to make it super fun!

Couldn't make the game work. I reloaded several times.
