Nice! I love roguelike games and this one's really good, and pretty challenging! Use of lighting and the dungeon generation's really nice, and the UI's pretty intuitive to me also. :) To be able to swing the sword up and down would be a nice addition, since you often have to run and find an angle to attack mobs. But great work there overall!

I liked it a lot! Is it literally not possible to swing my sword up or down though? I had to run away to get a better angle on some enemies. But I beat it, it's really easy once you get armour, I finished with Scale Armour and a War Hammer! Also really nice graphics and music, and simple controls.

Very nice. It was easier than I was expecting, but the random layouts & simple controls were sweet. I also love your tiny 4x4 (not counting outlines) graphics for the hero, enemies, and items. :)

Nice little game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)

Great use of 64 space, I loved the particles effects, the screen shake and the light. The song could be longer, as it repeats too much for the length of the game, in my opinion. The fact you can't hit top and bottom also bothered me a bit, but I got used to it. I'm impressed with the amount of mechanics you put (health, experience, level, inventory and equipment) and made it very accessible. Nice job!

Nice little game, but I found it was much too easy; maybe I just lucked out with getting armor early on, but the enemies didn't seem to be any threat whatsoever. The only ones that were even taking any noticeable amount of health away were the green flies.

Am I a bad player, or is this really hard? ahahah! In any case, well done! How many levels does this have?

Go take a look at my game if you have the time.

Cheers.

Hey, thank you :D Don't really won't to spoil much, but here are 5 levels. Did you find any chests with better armor/weapons?

I'm going back to your game today, I don't quite remember, but I find it today! I'm certainly gonna try to reach the last level today.

Okay! Right now, I'm stuck on level two, I don't see any more doors, but I see a brown box? I got a mail armor and a spear. What's  the white things on the 2nd floor name , is it white walkers? xD

Developer(+1)

Those are skeletons. Try to search better :D It can hide in quite strange places, but I have 100% guarantee, that all rooms are connected. Good luck :D

Yeah! I'm sure they are, it's just I got lost xD

Submitted(+1)

I won xD! There is a little problem tho, I believe I had just reached the forth floor and the stairs to the next level spawned right next to me, I went for it and I won. I believe this is a little bug with the dungeon generator, I'm sure you can fix it in a minute!
Anyway, I didn't get the chance to fight the monsters after the green ones, but my final evaluation is 10 / 5. It's a great game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you :D Those ones are flies xD Will see, what I can make with that ladder bug.

Submitted(+1)

Oh they are flies, I thought they were ducks xD Just Kidding! Is pico 8 cool to develop these types of games? I use java for almost everything I do, It has become easy over the years and I'm used to it, but I always like to try out new stuff. I've seen the coding on pico 8, but the coding interface doesn't seem good to develop a game on PC.

Pico8 is great, because it has all build-in. Also, it forces you to make smaller game, and work faster. It is perfect for me.

Very nice implementation! Reminds me a bit of my own entry - except that you actually were able to do random generation which I find impressive.

I think the enemies and fighting were a bit overwhelming at first, maybe have even simpler enemies at the very beginning.

Submitted(+1)

Neat entry here! I really enjoyed playing it. my only problem was that chests spawning inside walls and I was not able to get them, otherwise its a fun game :)

Submitted(+1)

Interesting idea with the light!

This game's real fun, and it looks good as well. I like the wide variety of different items you can find. My only complaint is that items would occasionally spawn inside walls so I couldn't reach them. I would've liked to hear some sound effects as well.

Developer

There are some sfx. The only problem is, that pico8 is really quiet. Try to raise your volume up. Thanks for feedback :D

I liked this game, good and art and a good soundtrack, the gameplay is cool, although I think some things might be improved like the attack system, you can only attack to the left and right, maybe would be good be able to attack also up and down. Maybe this was made to be this way, but I found hard to pass through the doors sometimes, you had to be at the exactly position to pass, maybe if the door was bigger that would help.

Anyway I liked the game, the items you can use is cool, and the game has a lot of potential. Great job !
