Did you work in a team?
I made the game alone, my wife only fed me.
Was the resolution a challenge?
I love low res! You can draw a handful of pixels and declare it a man with an axe, no one will prove otherwise.
What did you learn?
Making games with Godot is fun. I plan to stay with it for a while longer.

Nice concept, crisp graphics and good physics for land-slides. Had quite some trouble to climb step surfaces or areas/pits i digged myself. Could not pick the red fruits, not sure if they are suposed to be picked or not. Overall the game is fun. Great entry!
Thank you! Frequent pressing of the jump key allows you to climb even steep slopes. Red fruits give instant HP, if they are not picked, then you are completely healthy.
Unexpected Kin-dza-dza references !
Fun game, but how pile up 2000 with woods and gems? I'm missing something? Nice digging mechanics!
You do not need to collect money for gravitsap, the goal is to get to the boss and kill him with a fireball, and you will get enough money (see screenshot). Green gems and cat skins will allow you to quickly prepare for the final battle (1-2 days).
Pretty fun overall. The graphics and colour palette were quite nice.
Super cool that you had some simple sand physics, though the digging could be a little awkward at times.
Movement and jump did feel a bit slow and sluggish though.
After the start gameplay was a bit repetitive and I did lose some motivation to keep playing.
But were also not very fun to fight.
The polish on things like the intro screen and the landing animations are just absolutely *chef's kiss*. Before I had even stepped off the first hill I stopped to start my comment. Aesthetically, you did a fantastic job—the soft colors, the sprites.
That makes it seem like you *didn't* do a fantastic job with the gameplay and that isn't the comparison I meant to set up! I do wish the basic jump were just a *smidge* higher, as traversing the hilly terrain felt a bit more difficult than perhaps intended, but even then I'm not entirely certain because having the struggle maybe makes the upgrades feel even better. However, even with that maybe-complaint I still had a great time—and will be revisiting this one post-jam!
(The terror that peep sound instills in me cannot be described—the number of times I was chased by a bird I could not chance to fight lest I risk losing my backpack full of gems, all the way back to my ship...)
Thank you very much for your review! Feedback like this make me want to keep developing this game and make it worth post-jam revisiting. A major update is ready and waiting for the jam end. In the future, I plan to move to a high res fork.
I loved how the enemy's face was a resource. I liked the destructible terrain and variety of enemies. The final enemy was a cool surprise. The player movement and axe attack did feel a bit short even after upgrades. The game takes a bit of time to get into but great entry overall.
Thanks for playing! I continue to develop the game, taking into account the feedback, and an update with a bunch of improvements will be released right after the jam ends.
Its got a nice feel to this. it feels quite polished for a game jam submission. Nice one!!

Very fun game, with that simple but addictive motherload style gameplay loop. The lack of upgrades I originally saw as a negative, but it drove me to explore to the end of the planet (and find a fun little ending sequence). Enemy variety made combat rather interesting. Mobility upgrades were endlessly helpful and I felt like a sack of potatoes without them (without the jump boost shoveling became a troublesome proposition). Sound design was great, especially the propellers of the ship. Graphics were also very good.
Thanks! Glad you went through to the end, despite the fact that I screwed up with the initial speed and upgrades cost. Never played Motherload, I’ll have to check it.
I'm a Bounty hunter? ^^ that was a treat! glad I went exploring, that was intense at the end haha, great game :)
Thanks for playing! The lore tells that bad guy with a gun once robbed an orbital shop, and the shopkeeper was very happy to see him (partially) again.
Great stuff. This is a very engaging and fun game. The controls could use a tiny bit more finesse but everything else works as good as it should. The ship design reminds me strongly of Kin Dza Dza :D
That’s it, I’ve been exposed. Ku!
Ku!
Nice sound effects and gameplay loop, and I absolutely love the animations and presentation overall.
I think the digging mechanic could be a bit faster/juicier, and the overall speed should be increased. Also, more variation on the planet would also be great. But none of this feedback takes away from the fun experience. There's something really satisfying about going back with your resources, taking off and exploring another part of the planet.
Good job!
Thank you for your kind words! I swear, the moving and digging speed will be increased.
Sweet game! This looks like it was a ton of fun to make, I'm a little jealous!
As for improvements, maybe some extra color in the environment or background music wouldve been nice :) We spend a lot of time on this planet, so anything to make it more interesting is a plus!
Thanks for the feedback! About fun: imagine a bunch of imps threw indestructible fireballs at each other, ignoring the player, creating huge pits and performance problems. I’ll leave this feature for another game ) Yes, the planet turned out to be very sad, so we leave it at the first opportunity without any regret 😉. Background music was originally planned, but on the last day I only managed to make short tracks for the intro, shop and the boss battle.
I like the game, i like digging is just fun, i kinda wish the planet would progress more like new cool enemys or unique resouces.
Cool game! I love the art style, especially the little dude. Movement feels pretty sluggish and clunky tho, especially getting stuck on some corners. The speed upgrade helps but also makes me feel like there shouldn't be a speed upgrade, and you should just start with that as base speed. Probably for progression sake, but still feels kind of bad. The digging is such a cool mechanic, especially with how the dirt works, but is a bit too slow to feel as fun as it could be.
Great job overall!
Thank you for the review! I looked at my game with a fresh look and yes, I fully agree that the speed of digging and movement should be increased. Looks like I’m a little retarded: this is not the first game where I am asked to increase the player’s speed )
Good game! I like a lot the menu intro of the game, it seems to me like Super Metroid :) Graphics and sound are good, maybe the only thing to improve is the movement when you are in a slope.
Good job!!
On steep slopes, frequent pressing jump helps, so you can move faster and climb even a vertical wall. Thanks for the feedback!
This was an excellent entry! Simplified versions of some awesome game mechanics made it work perfectly in this resolution. Those damn birds... Very well done!
Spacecraft sound is really cool! I kept wanting to hear it :P
The gameplay really works well in the 64x64px limit. Great entry.
+1 for Godot :D
Thanks! Sound effects were generated using this wonderful tool: ChipTone and processed with Audacity. I’ll add credits to the game description with post-jam update.
Like it. Kind of a bite-sized Starbound without the crafting and building components.
This game is really fun and well balanced, I made many greedy runs and was punished for it by waking up from a nightmare with all my green gems gone. It's fun to feel empowered to take down the enemies that used to cause you trouble, and this game fulfilled a gaming wish I've had since I was a kid, which is player-controlled lemmings-style digging simulator. I think it took me 15 days to beat it, after many greedy deaths. The graphics and animations are really great too, everything looks good in motion despite the tiny resolution.
They called me a mad man. xD
I LOVE that I was able to do this.
Now you can tell your wife that feeding you was worth it.
I found the jump a biiit too low, sometimes it was frustrating. But I wish you'd consider expanding it leaving the digging as a main mechanic. Very fun haha
WOW! It’s a pity I didn’t lay a bunch of green gems right under the ship to reward such diligence! On the other hand, I’m glad to know that nothing has fallen off the screen. (You may be curious to know that an identical pit appeared under the villain’s ship on the opposite side of the world, because the same terrain texture is used there). Thanks for stress testing!
