Did you work in a team?
Solo Dev. Did all the art/sound/code from scratch in the jam time period. Was a heap of fun finishing a game in 2 weeks with limited scope.
Was the resolution a challenge?
Designing a micro tileset for a platformer game was a challenge. I used 8x8px tiles for the map and 12x12px sprites.
What did you learn?
I have never entered a game jam before and I entered this jam for the 64x64px challenge mostly. I have never done pixel art and never made a platformer before. This combo was fun and I will do another pixel art game for sure. I have a lot to learn with pixel art techniques and found it more enjoyable than I was expecting.

Thanks so much for playing live and the really valuable honest feedback you gave while playing. I can see lots of areas needing improvement if I was to take this game further.
So impressed you played through to the boss level. :)
You are a real asset to the community with your dedication!
Thank you very much !
Happy to help. Don't hesitate to follow me ont itch/twitter and subscribe to my youtube channel. Gonna add more game dev content and might play your games again in the future !
Cute little platformer you have there. plays quite well and the level design feels solid. Globally it felt a little bit slow for this kind of platforming, and particularly for a nimble ninja ;) but that could be just my personal perception. Some in-game bg music could add a nice touch to the game. Overall a solid and entertaining entry, good job!
Thanks heaps for playing and the constructive feedback.
Does feel like a fine balance with getting the gameplay just right with the screen size constraints.
hello another godot user :D
this is nice game for the first jame games. the art look nice and gameplay area fun.
good job
Thanks for playing.
nice smooth controls, the character felt a bit slow but it's probably for the best since 64x64 limits visibility significantly. Levels are quite big for a jam game which is impressive. Some music would be nice tho
Thanks so much for playing and giving feedback. Once you learn the levels, I did feel they are quite short, so interesting to learn expectations for a game jam entry.
It would be good if you added progress saving. I also think that you should add some music, the sound effects aren't enough. Otherwise well done! The game was a bit longer than others in this jam and it had a nice difficulty.
Thanks for the constructive feedback. Funny, I didn't think the levels were long enough, but didn't know the expectations in a game jam.
This was a fun game. I didn't realise I could jump on the spiky guys until I accidentally landed on one (I figured they were spiky and would hurt me). Great background and tileset, it had a really cohesive feel. Congrats on your first jam entry!
Thanks for playing and the feedback. Sounds like I might have failed at the "sun" is your enemy theme if you couldn't recognise the sun :P
I did struggle with the art for the sun TBH.
Game is fun. Simple but satisfying. Tough to see sometimes because of the low resolution but there isn't much you can do about that at 64x64. Looks and sounds good.
Thanks. Appreciate you taking the time to play my game.
A fellow Godot user indeed! Really good game! I wanted to get some mushrooms off of that initial golden block, wrong game haha
Congrats on the submission!
Haha! Thanks for playing and comments. You can see the classic platformer inspiration coming through.
I do!
Brilliant implementation of the theme 🌞! Pixel art done very well, really pleasing to the eye. In my opinion, 8x8 tiles are too big for this type of game, because sometimes it is impossible to guess where the jump will end. But cool game anyway!
Thanks so much for playing and appreciate your feedback. I was trying to find the balance between keeping it playable and being a challenge to learn the levels with the 8x8 tiles. Took my gameplay inspiration from Wonder Boy in the 80's. Difficult to master, but easy to learn.
Super fun and an excellent use of the real estate available to you. The parallax of the city is pretty neat. Well done. And now that I’ve rated, I need to go back and practice my double jumps. They are tricky.
Thanks! Appreciate you playing and rating my entry.
