Did you work in a team?
Just me :)

Was the resolution a challenge?
It was pretty tough to make a grid that is big enough to fit the screen, but also looks good. I tried to go for a bit of a fake 3D effect and I think it turned out alright. I always love making games in this tiny resolution, I find it very satisfying!

What did you learn?
This was my first time making a turn-based game, so I guess that's what I learned how to do.

This is super fun! I could see this ending friendships if played locally. Also, I'm pretty sure I recognize that soundfont, did you use Bosca Ceoil (I really like it!!)?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yep I did use Bosca (I'm not much of a music guy so it's the easiest tool to use)

Crazy how you were able to fit so much onto the same screen. It could be cool to see different maps with certain cells already as walls or other tile types. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah I thought about making something like that, but didn't really have the time.

Took some getting used to but once I understood the basics it became quite addictive. Nice presentation although personally I don't care much for the bouncy screen and whirling palette. All in all, a great little game, really well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! All those little gfx details were more sort of experiments to see how it would turn out. I personally like it, but I understand it might not be for everyone.

What a nifty and well thought out game! Big scope is always fun and tempting with the two weeks, but I love to see people who chose a simple concept and polished the hell out of it. This is the most unique one I've seen yet, and I love the mix of dots and crosses/chess!

Thank you very much!

This is a downright good puzzle that I couldn't quite figure out at first, but trying sure is fun.

Developer

Haha thanks! Did you struggle with understanding the mechanics or was it difficult to beat the AI?

Interesting idea for a game. You win when you put the snake into a form of "checkmate". I think this could be really fun as a multiplayer game as well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! There is a multiplayer (2-player that is) mode in-game.

Great entry! I loved the visuals and the "fake 3D effect." It looked great! The mechanics were also intriguing and fun to play! Having a computer opponent, and a good one at that, was a grateful addition, as I didn't have to beg one of my friends to play. There was a great deal of polish to this game, and overall its extremely well done. Great job!

Really interesting and pretty game. It was fun to learn from the AI to start making my own strategies.

This is so great! The visuals are excellent. So juicy and bouncy and the isometric view looks lovely with the resolution restriction!

Also, I found this to be insanely hard and surprisingly cerebral. The computer destroyed me so many times before I finally came up with a general strategy.

The AI was surprisingly creative, and I learned a lot about how to play the game based on how the AI beat me over and over again. There was one point where whoever moved next would lose, so the AI started placing its walls in random locations on the map to burn up turns (however, since I had 1 more wall than the AI remaining, I was able to basically win this war of attrition and force them to move and lose once we were both out of walls).

I also really appreciate the extensive in-game tutorial.

Super cool game, I'm gonna try the multiplayer with my friends!

Developer

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The visuals and feedback when you take an action are super well done. Another thing I really like is the ingame tutorial! :) I think that's something important to have for such a game.

Took a while to grasp the tactics to win over the computer. :) The presentation is great and it all works very well - great job!

Thanks!
