I like the pixel art and the game itself was an interesting experience.

Nicely done. It took me a while to figure out the light mechanic but once I did it added an interesting twist to the game. I also didn't realise I had been cut off from my shadow until we reconnected at the end and it felt like I was wandering around somewhat randomly until a transition happened.
It was a nice game, just a little confusing at first.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! Looking back at this, we agree that we should've introduce the light mechanic better so that players won't have to retry after discovering it late. As for transitions, next time we shall add something different towards the end paths that would indicate a transition is going to happen. None the less I hope you enjoyed!
When the game started, I said to myself, those are really nice looking lighting effects! Then I realised the lights were part of the gameplay mechanic! At first, when I was the normal guy, the fireflies seem to keep running away from me... then when I was the shadow, those fireflies seem to always follow me around! hahah! It's a sweet story trying to reconnect with the light and dark parts of ourselves. The main menu transitioning into game play was a nice touch, so was recovering the "lost relic" in a Lost Relic Game Jam!! haha! Good job on a game well made! :D
The cutscenes were nice and I liked how the level flipped back so you could play in an inverted way. I do have to say though that the level design could use some work along with not having the player take "necessary damage" to get through segments. Too many "leap of faith" moments happen in the game as well. The ending of the game wrapped it up nicely though :)
Ah and here I was so proud of my "leap of faiths"! But we would agree, I suppose I got too focused on trying not to make the gameplay too easy after you figured out the mechanics. There might'be been a happy medium to find with more thought, so great feedback for the future.
I'm sure I also speak for Ryan, who made all the cutscenes that took terrifyingly long dedication, we appreciate the compliments. Thank you for playing!
So much to say here I love it! First of all, I love how the main menu is actually part of the first section of the game, such an awesome transition. I love how the light mechanic is flipped on its head once you play as the shadow - really innovative!
My only gripe (and it's reaaaally minor don't worry lol) is that I felt the game could have benefitted from having a light source that healed the health of the human form. You only find out about the mechanic by taking damage, which by that point it made it impossible for me to win without retrying. Like I said, very minor point lol
Very impressive! I love this game!
Hey there! Thanks for playing and enjoying our game! Yea we had talked about a way to heal the player originally, but we didn't have enough time for testing/balancing purposes and we didn't want to make the level too easy as well. It's great feedback though and thank you once again for playing our game :)
HI! I like the pixel Art! In your game particularly, it's very consistent and coherent. Congrats!
A nice game with storytelling. I found a bit annoying to being human and avoid darkness (because that yellow bar does not decrease) Being shadow is more cool and fun. I like art style and musics too suits very well to game atmosphere. Nice work guys ! ^^
Didn't expect the change when I was in the dark too long. Then I understood! Looks good
I really like the art style and colors! The little cutscene at the first pickup was cool too. I'm intrigued by loop/story . I got a little frustrated when I couldn't work out where to go several times before the time ran out :') I'll have to keep trying. Good luck!
Wow that is a really cool game idea!
I've always wanted to make a game myself about using light but the idea of separating the player from their shadow is one I've never thought of.
Loved the art style for the game and its free points from me cause I love characters with scarves, so I was already sold!
Music and sound effects were really interesting and mysterious which I liked, the occasional sort of musical tone like a bell was cool and I feel could be used as an auditory indicator when the player enters a dark area or light area for the shadow.
All in all no complaints from me! I liked the use of the crow to fly across area's of light, really clever use of the mechanic.
Good job chief! :D
Thank you for the kind reply!
I am really glad and thankful that you enjoyed the game that we put a lot of time and effort into! I agree that some more polish for player feedback would make the shadow entering the light much more apparent. Thank you once again for playing our game and some great feedback for improvement!
Really enjoyed this game. Loved the connection mechanic on multiple layers even. The shadow and light mechanic was great. Found things to be challenging enough and could see this going further with more intriguing levels and puzzles to figure out. Lots of potential.
Great job!
I really enjoyed my time with this game!
I absolutely love how you used two sides of the same coin where you make us play running towards the light first, then away from it! Thats a really clever and impressive way to make use of an existing mechanic in a game to get double the gameplay! Clever!
Really fun game, the art is good. I played two times, since the first I did not understand what happen for me to become the shadow.
Gorgeous game, everything looks, sounds beautiful and the mechanics feels amazing, I love the concept and difficulty, nice work everyone!
