Really cool art and story. I have to admit I was hooked as I find the subject matter interesting. However if I'm being brutally honest it doesn't feel like a game to me. The only gameplay element was clicking on the computer a few times. If this was a intro cutscene to a full game, then AMAZING, but because this is all we got, that was a shame. There is huge potential here, so please continue to make this. But right now it's not a game.

I guess you could have made the player do settings on the computer to make the experiments run. Or check on the patients vitals as the experiment happens or something. Or even give choices that could lead to different endings.

Again, amazing art, music and story. Really great way to use the theme, just lacking any "gameplay" as of right now. Great entry though :) (sorry to be so harsh...)

Developer

Thank you for your review! As of such a limited time I didn't make any actual gameplay but I may expand on this in the future.

Really nice art direction! Love the music and character portraits. Would have liked some form of gameplay, but it was still a cool experience.

Developer

Thank you :)

Great story! The character portraits are really nice, and I thought the music was perfect.

Really nice work! The minimal gameplay elements were still enough to renew engagement (though I would have enjoyed more) and the art was perfect. I got a bit tired of reading long blocks of text, it could somewhat be due to the font, so an addition of voice acting could have been sweet had you had time/access. That aside, the story was compelling and I really liked the ending. They got what they deserved....

Developer

Thank you! I might change the font once the jam is over

I wasn't expecting a kinetic novel in a non dedicated game jam!

The story is very interesting and is directed quite well, if I had to nitpick I found that the portrait of the main character didn't always match the tone of the dialogue.

Great job overall!

Great Work. I enjoy every second of the story. This is one of the best games I have played in this Jam. I love how you create a lot of expectations with each test subject. Thank you for this game.

Waah, really got into that story!

My only regret is that interactions are very limited. But the atmosphere and art were on point!

Loved the story, camera movements and all the little details, like the screens glitching and turning red!

Developer

Thank you :3

Very cool, I loved the atmosphere you created. The artwork was great too, I loved how crisp and consistent all the pixel art was.
My only critique would be that there wasn't much gameplay, although that's maybe just part of the genre?

All round, this is a really solid entry.

Developer

Thank you! And yes, it was mostly meant as a visual novel, not much time to develop actual gameplay mechanics. I might expand on this in the future.

Really nice character portraits, they were the stand out for me. Capable pixel art too. The camera transition and voice acting was a nice touch. Really well put together. I don't really have any particular feedback, it feels like you completed exactly what you set out to make and it turned out great!

Most of the people in the comments have already said what I feel. I love the vision this had and the presentation was great. I just wish with the things we had to interact with had some substance to it other than just being there. The art was awesome! I also do think even though it was a pixel art game, the font was hard to read sometimes just because of how the letters would look.

Thank you for your insight!

Great game with superb visuals and technical presentation. Very strong and focused vision as well. As a suggestion, I thought that the machinery (being one of the few interactive parts) could've been used to reveal more detailed information about the test subjects.

Thanks for the suggestion!
