The pixel art is nice!I was stuck after I get the dash. Honestly I didn't like the control of the charater, and the level design felt too simple for what I have played. What is the relation with Ouroboros ?
Hey, thank you for your feedback! Could you tell me more what exactly you didn't like about the character controller?
The relation is that the warrior has to gather all their pieces to become one and harmonious (Ouroboros) but in order to do that, they should tear apart other warriors, leading to an endless cycle (also Ouroboros) of warriors on a quest to become harmonious.
I really enjoyed it! You can only get to so much in a jam, but I would love more things that give the game a sense of place. Some more things in the background I think would really help. Really enjoyed the art style and the little main character. I would love to see more!
I liked the story and the game fed into the story back to the beginning, I can see what the vision was, so dont feel bad that you didnt get it to that point, its a jam after all. The combat would be better if you couldnt spam the attack and i would say to make the camera focus on the player more toward the center of the screen, that way you can see down where youre falling better
Thanks for playing it! It's good that you could see the vision for the game.
Yeah, I have to be proud of this piece made in 48 hours - it gave me an idea that could turn into a full game, a friend even told me he would buy it for ps4! I will take your feedback into consideration when I make some fixes on the game after the ratings.
That was a great little experience! The bit with the small holes to get through was a little frustrating but I got through eventually! The music and atmosphere was great with simplistic but effective graphics. Nice job bud!
great. I like the simplistic graphics and it is actually a full little game with a whole play through.
At the end I wasn't really sure where to go, but you can just try all paths. hitting a wall will reset your jump which was probably not intended but it made the game really fun. got to the second playthrough but the game won't be reset. so that is the furthest one can go. The jump sound might be too loud compared to the music. Overall though, I quite enjoyed it.
Thank you for playing it!
At the beggining the wall jump wasn't intentional, but when I realized it I wasn't sure if I should remove it or not, it ended up there because I liked it, glad you also enjoyed it! I didn't test having a second playthrough at all, probably there are some persistent managers that aren't reseting. I will take a look at it after the voting ends.
Thank you for your feedback!
Nice game. I liked the combat and the jumping felt nice.
At the part where there's a sort of segmented pillar you can pass through and need to climb for dash, my character more often than not wouldn't pass through the holes. It would probably take me 6+ attempts to jump through it. And not sure what happened with (I'm assuming) the boss battle, but about 95% of it I was in slow motion. I ended up quitting there after about a minute of it.
Thanks for playing it and for your feedback!
The pillar section is supposed to be a harder platforming section, but I think it turned out more boring/frustrating than hard - Anyway, the slow motion happens when you defeat the boss and it should show a message and take you to another screen, not sure what happened there.
Ah, I see. Well if you want a little more info to debug it, the boss would wait then dash at me and repeat and it seemed like I couldn't damage him. I thought the fight was still going.
Scaling the pillar itself was interesting, one of the more memorable moments. I think that after I got the power up, I was supposed to exit left? I ended up going right, putting me back in the "enclosed" area. So to get out I tried jumping through the small gaps.
Even with the slow motion the boss just goes on and on, but it should show you a message and then end the game, after the voting I will take a look at it.
Nice to hear that it was memorable, I might redo it with bigger gaps - There's no reason at all to go right, it's just an extra space I've added in case the player wanted to play with the dash and see how it works (after killing the enemy of course)
Overall a very nice game, I felt the jump sound effect might have been a bit loud but that's just me nitpicking. Good Job :)
I felt good with the mechanics until the double jump. There was inconsistencies in the jump registers. I could double jump quickly, or not at all. Therefore, I felt like I didn't have complete control of the character.
Overall though I like the direction of the game. Would play more if continued : )
I like the hole concept, reminds me of Hollow Knight and i love that.
You gave me so much to do but in the end i could not used in anything and the game was over by the time it gets interesting :/
Thanks for playing it!
Hollow Knight and Metroidvania are things that are in my mind a lot lately and it has a lot of influence on the concept.
I'm not happy with how this game turned out because I wasn't able to create the vision I wanted within the time frame, but I'm really happy that you got the concept and was interested on it!
