Neat platformer! I included it in my Godot Community Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Penguin, two worlds platformer, nice audiovisuals, end joke, ability to break it so the penguin can "swim" in the sky - everything fits nicely, big thanks for making this! :)

I would actually play this game! I love how the mechanics for movement change. Plus the penguin main character is just so chill. This may be my favorite interpretation.

Please keep it up!

I like this game!  Would like to see it polished a bit!  The art and sound go together to create a nice feel.  If only the control was a little better.  Good job!

Nice game, I think control under water needs a bit of polishing, also more visual feedback when you eat a fish.

Really nice idea all round, with a bit of polish, could turn into a really good finished product :)

I really like the two-seasons gameplay and the narrative of a penguin longing for Summer :D

The changing music based on the scenery is also quite nice, and graphics are well fitting :)

The gameplay is really nice, and with some more polish it could become a pretty fun game. It took me a while to understand the "build momentum while swimming before you jump", so I got stuck for a while before the first checkpoint. Then I passed it by chance without really knowing how, and got stuck at the second one - I finally got it when reading comments here, so I guess it needs to be made clearer in game :)

Hi Davi Fox,

To properly compete in the jam, you should provide your entry's source code as per the jam rules:

> Source code under proper open source licenses should be provided for each game

You can upload a ZIP of your project folder on itch.io, or provide a link to a version control repository, or both, as you prefer. If you don't want to share your code that's up to you of course, but then your entry won't be in the final ratings.

Developer (1 edit)

I just uploaded the project source code under de MIT license! Thanks for telling me!

Control a chubby Penguin who's tired of ice and go find new horizons. Pretty cool, as stated before, the controls need polishing. I also noticed that he can jump (from water) beyond platforms and will die if there are spikes in between. I really thought those short hops wouldn't be enough to reach the stairs but was glad to see he hoped a little higher. Good job.

Developer(+1)

You need to build momentum to reach higher platforms. The jump while on ground it's pretty much useless, and that was intended. I wanted it to be just like a real penguin, slow and clumsy on the ground, fast and agile on water. Thank you for the feedback!

I noticed, it's a nice touch. :)

The controls inside water are not the easiest ones, jumping is also really short :(

Overall graphics are ok and theme interpretation is also *good*

Developer

The short jump is on purpose actually, I wanted it to be like if a real penguin was trying to jump, that's why he is way more agile on water. Thanks for the feedback! :)

The game is very hard, but I loved the mechanic, the diving is fast and a lot of fun!

Developer

it's funny how when we are developing a game, we don't have much notion of the level of difficulty that it will have, because we know exactly what has to be done. This is one of the things I like the most in a game jam, discovering how other people will play your game. Every feedback is a very important lesson to us developers. Thank you for playing and sharing your thoughts!

Lovely Music and Graphics!

The Controls were a bit rough to get into, and the game is a little too hard imo, especially the first part where the user is supposed to get used to the game.

But overall solid game ^^

Developer

Thank you very much for playing and giving feedback! :)
