Fun minigames! I appreciate all the work that must have gone into all those mini games and mechanics. Well done fitting all that into the jam, and polishing it.
Quite a fun set of mini-puzzles. I'm impressed with getting them all integrated and working well.
A very polished game. I tried to throw the books into the fire, haha.
Hello last but not least was your entry on my second stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2386307073?t=02h18m54s
It just kept going and going never ending! Great realization in terms of art, audio and UX. I could even toss books into the fire. But they were too enchanted to burn unfortunately. I think this game would work really well for kids.
Great job and thanks for making the game!
Btw sorry about the angle of the webcam I forgot to put it back up after I played Berjtaget…
That was a pleasure to watch! Thank you for taking the time to play and rate our game!
Nice collection of minigames. Felt sort of like a warioware. The default highlight shader on pickup unfortunately hid some gameplay relevant visuals. I would've liked if the distant pickup was more visceral than just floating towards you, e.g. the physics of Alyx gravity gloves; I think that'd sell the "enchanting" a bit better. Still good job overall.
Nice job! The concept is definitely there, a bunch of minigames all around becoming a wizard is really cool, and the different locations were neat. I think there could be more focus on polish/player experience though, the issues I had have already been mentioned but the big ones were the lag spikes when loading and not being able to move with the controllers. Yall still did a good job though, and you got a lot done in a week!
Great job! I'm impressed with how many different areas and minigames you managed to put together in such a short period of time, and it was a fairly polished experience. I have to ask, though: what did the riddle with mixing the potions mean? I got that it should be one red and one blue, but I just found the right combination through trial and error, I couldn't figure out the logic for them. :-)
SPOILER:
There is a "liquid shader" applied to the correct potions, so the correct ones move inside the bottle as you grab and move them
So many minigames! I felt like I well and truly worked for my wizard's hat haha! Nice fantasy music looping in the background. Very on theme - my favourites were Simon says, staff making and potion mixing.
My only complaint was that there isn't the option to rotate for lazy folk like me.
This felt like a lot of mini games in one I like it, it was like wario ware in vr
Things I liked:
- Minigames
- The colors coming from far away in the house in the simon says minigame
- Art
- Use of the toolkit (grabbing, putting items in place, distance grab, etc
- Font and text very clear, instructions almost all clear
- Changing scenario and the fade in shader
- Touching something at the start to center my position
I will name a few things that I didn't like
- Loading times, the changes between levels gave me a little of motion sickness because everything freeze while it load, and it took a few seconds each
- Sometimes it felt like doing chores (do this, find this, put this) and less like a game with thought process
- Can't rotate with joystick
- Sometimes I tried to glue something above the podium, it felt at the back of the podium and I couldn't get it again until I physically move around it.
But overall I think is a great demonstration of a rapid pace of changing tasks . Tested pcvr via alvr
edit: I did finish the game =)
Thanks for playing!
The loading times we didn't notice until after submission, during development our headsets / pcs where creating a lighting and shader cache. Going forward we could wait to play the "appear" animation until the level is fully loaded, and reduce the size of the light maps. Rotating with the stick is a great idea for a future update!
Yep, I fully recommend a loading screen while loading in another thread, because a few seconds is not that much, is just the motion sickness that comes with the game freezing or lagging, because my head is moving while the game not.
Maybe a little 2d cauldron that is refilling
This game has soo much content.
I was already impressed by the first two levels, but it just kept on going.
The only thing is that the instruction vanished a little bit fast,
Loved the ending!
Great job
Thank you! SO MUCH! We did add a button to replay instructions last minute but forgot to tell players that A/X did that 😅
