Very polished for a game jam game - looks great, the gameplay was very fun, I liked it!
Pretty fun and dynamic game, good job! I like the play on words in the title. Of the minuses: it took getting used to holding the jump key, because otherwise the character not overcome obstacles well, and in an isometric view it is difficult to understand where to jump. But I finished the game)
Very unique game! I loved the combination of 2D and 3D! The perspective was weird initially. but I got used to it very fast.
This was a nice concept and I loved certain elements, such as the level design, colours and collapsing animations. The Pixel character was cute but like other commenters here I think it did not blend well with the colour scheme of the rest of the game, perhaps a filter over the sprite sheet to lower contrast and desaturate the colours would help there.
The controls were simple but a bit tricky to handle, especially jumping and recovering from a wall hang. I wanted a double jump and a bit of lee-way for player error.
I was also a bit lost as to what I was supposed to do, the glowing blobs were sometimes portals and sometimes switches? That could have been a bit clearer maybe.
Overall, this was a great entry with a couple of rough edges, well done!
Thank you for playing and your comment.
In the beginning i wanted to add a doublejump, but i scrapped the idea when i realized that i had only a few days left and i had not a single level fininished ^^"
If the Theme is fitting in a future jam, i'll make runstable 2 without isometric view and some more mechanics :)
great fun and the style is great I loved 2d 3d combination good luck in the jam
Platforming was a bit difficult, and after going through the first portal (?) i didnt know what to do. The same sequence played over and over and nothing else happened. I wish there was a bit more player guidance, but i did like that graphics a lot! Very pleasing to look at. Also the world falling apart was super cool!
Following you from some time ago. Loving the clever action game you’ve made, so fun! This drop, tensity, and tricky lighting - all good. Liked the challenge suprise drops presented me with, although one could say I developed some resistance to uncertainty, so I may be biased. Recommending to my friends!
Lovely looking game! And I enjoyed the change in music too. The ledge grab felt a little clunky to control, but did look great. I sympathise with the comment below about not being able to line up jumps due to the perspective, the shadow helps, but often I couldn't tell the height *and* distance of a nearby platform. Hope this helps! :)
Thank you for playing and your comment!
The perspective was more or less just a test in the very early steps, but it looked so nice that i stayed with it. I also tried to make the height a bit more visible with the colors, but i hardly help. (but it looks good xD)
Its also the first time i used the ledge-grab mechanic. definitly room for improvment, i know ^^"
Very nice looking game. I liked the concept, it was pretty captivating, and well put together. I think the ledge grabbing mechanic should've been included in the controls section inside the game as well, because I've almost given up too soon if I wouldn't have checked the itch page and found out about it. Also the whole isometric thing for a platformer like this made the whole experience a bit too unnecessarily difficult at certain points... like not in a challenging way, but more in a frustrating way. I'm realizing that this might be coming off a bit too harsh, but I don't mean it to be because I really enjoyed playing this game. Good job! :)
Thank you for your comment and playing <3
I plan to make a after-jam-version with control-instructions in the hubworld, because both suck at the moment and i have some ideas to imporove the whole experience :)
I always make my games a bit too hard by accident. I really tried do keep it a bit simpler and short this time, so you dont loose too much progress (it was a bit too complicated to do checkpoints that remeber how broken the level already is... not enough time in a jam with such stuff).
