Enjoyable game with some impressive camera-work and a fun take on the theme. Performance was my biggest issue, with the webplayer's frame rate low even playing full-screen as recommended.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. Hope the game was still playable in your browser. :)

+49 Really great game! Had a lot of fun playing. The hardest minigame is definitely the bookshelf one.

Developer

49 is solid! Thanks for playing. :)

What a game! The amount of polish is pretty crazy even with the extended time frame. Everything was very well put together, from the music and graphics to the various mini games. I must admit I ended up getting frustrated with the mini games on day 7 but still found it enjoyable for a time. Some observations from my play:

- The book stacking mini game often stops counting positive score after you drop a book which was costly

- The plant watering mini game had a tendency to stack plants sometimes which made overwatering the top one the only option

- The stocks mini game seemed to actually buy and sell after I clicked the button by just a bit. I'm not sure if that was intentional but it became hard to account for on the more difficult versions

- During the development mini game where you get + and - signs instead of word, the objects seem to have an exit animation during which they're still active, I assume they're activated by an area and if you leave and enter it repeatedly you can rack up extra score

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback, some stuff I knew and some things I didn't realise. I appreciate you taking the time!

  • Books - It only give you a point when you reach a new all time high. In hindsight this is a little silly as the game is hard enough already.
  • Plants - I made it do that on purpose, hoping the player would over water the plants and bring the wild card into play!
  • Stocks - This one was tricky. I'm not exactly sure why it's like this, but think it's related to me using a Line2D and Gradient w/ Tween to gradually reveal the line.
  • Development - Ahh I didn't know this, that's certainly a bug, thanks for pointing out.

Cheers!

What a meta game lol! I totally failed all the minigames though

Developer

Haha yeh meta... that's okay there is only one minigame which really matters in the end. ;)

Wow, this is a complete game, and I had to spend a lot of time to get through it. Impressive! It amused me how the mini-games became more and more unstable, adding a lot of hardcore to the gameplay. I can't say enough about the beautiful visuals. Good style, wonderful animations... In general, it's hard to find fault with something, the game turned out really outstanding, great job, bravo!

Developer

Thanks heaps! :) Glad you got a good amount of play time out of it.

Score: 101

I haven’t passed a single mental stability check… way too relatable ;)

Cool idea, smooth implementation, and the minigames are varied, original, and interesting!

I especially liked the cooking (fractions) and table balancing (powers of 2) mini-games 🧠

Extra points for togglable run!

Very enjoyable, original, and overall well-exectued entry - amazing job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and commenting. +101 is a very good score for first play through!

Final score : +93

So you basically took a lot of ideas some of us took 2 weeks to code and made them all ! Impressive !

The game is very enjoyable, every mini game has a coherent difficulty curbe, it's very nice !

The only problems I had were the watering plants game and the book tower. I lost waaaaay too much stability in both of them ; watering a plant made it bigger and sometimes, other plants were not accessible without rewatering the big one, losing 3 points as a consequence, and the book tower was just way too hard.

But in the overall experience, it's really not that big of a deal. You nailed it, great job !

Developer

Thank you very much.. I agree some of the games needed more balancing, but that's gamejams for you!

Seriously witty and funny!
The final mini game of working on the game was pretty accurate.
I enjoyed pretty much all of the minigames except for balancing books and watering plants, I felt like it was really easy to lose more stability watering plants than you'd gain so I'd just water a few and give up xD
Where as the books physics was super wonky and I felt like I couldn't do much to save my points.

Other than that it was a seriously awesome little game, the way spork jumps into the bed is also hilarious.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for giving feedback. :)

I really enjoyed playing this game. Super charming and the different minigames keep things interesting.

The subject matter is a little too real though :)

Developer

Haha yes it is, thanks for playing!

Who keeps cutting the legs on the table, and why do they keep happening?

Seriously though, this was a fun and charming game, with the meta humor and all. I can also relate to the final day struggles of doing other things before finally working on the game (even though my stability constantly increased throughout the 9 days lol)

I struggled a bit on the harder words for the mental health check, but I suppose that's on me for not knowing words. There are also some strange quirks on some games, like for instance the whole stack of books sometimes don't give off points if the bottom one was stacked in an unusual way) Also it might be just me being bad at math but I think in the cooking one it doesn't count if you don't do the minimum answer?

That being said, the minigames were enjoyable and intense, a great take on the theme, and overall a cool game.

Developer

Hahaha.. someone doesn't want progress made on the gamejam! 😂

Thanks for your feedback.

  • Mental health game - I was worried it might not be inclusive enough, but was the best I could come up with in the time.
  • Books game - I agree it's not great, again time constraints and also lack of understanding of physics engine. The idea was you should get a point each time you reach new height, which explains why not every book gets you a point.
  • Cooking - Any ratio which is correct should work :) but let me know if you find some numbers which are a bug

Cheers!

that was a very lovely jam game, once again!

won't repeat what has been said by others, but i'll add that i loved the details of the frames on the wall. :) well done!

Developer(+1)

Haha, glad you noticed them! Thinking to do the same in our actual apartment.. hmm..

B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Looks so nice! The mini games were a mixed bag, but I liked the character, the house, the animations, the sound, the camera angle changes...

Everything is slick and enjoyable.

Confession - I haven't played til the end as I have limited time to play through all the entries - but I may return here if time allows as I've enjoyed this entry a lot!

Developer(+1)

Haha yes it's probably a little too long. If you do come back to it please post your score. :) Thanks for playing and giving feedback!

Lovely game! The music and chaotic feeling gets perfectly into the unstable theme.

I think the minigames could be explained better as in the beggining I had no idea what I had to do.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. :)

That game was hilarious, very well done! Great job on the animations as well. I always struggle with them but yours look so smooth ;)

Thank you!

The game started out very strong for me, the animation was cute; the minigames are fun and diverse. I especially liked the table jamming game. Spock was very cute and lovable.

However I think some of the games need more explaining on the controls, like the clothes protection one. Outside of that there were the problems of sometimes the games are unsolvable like watering the trees when two trees are on top of each other. The games were a little monotonic after like the 4th day as well.

I loved the fact that the pacing was quickened up at the end and created this exact feeling like a real jam. The sprinting walking mode was great and very useful as well, I just wish I had known that a little sooner.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

My intention was for the minigames to be somewhat obvious, but also create pressure for the player to experiment in the 30 seconds. Kind of like the old Wario Ware games but over slightly more time.

I do agree the games repeat too much. I should have used less over all, and less had days - but I wanted to stick to 9 days like most GWJs.

Cheers. :)

Thank you for having stuck to the original though, it kinda hit home.

Honestly this was a pretty solid game. I had fun and enjoyed the unique game mechanics and scaling of progression as the days went by. The only thing that I noticed was that the audio on the web version would sometimes either be glitchy or had some static along with the music, not sure if this was intentional though, but it did sound good overall.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. Audio is not my strong suit, but I do think it's known that Godot/HTML5 can have some audio issues, particularly lag.. let's hope that's all it is!

Absolutely lovely! Had a great time playing it, everything sounds, looks, and plays well. Congratulations!

Mine Stability score was 90, not that bad!

Developer

90 is very good for a first play through! Thanks for playing and the feedback. :)

Possibly the greatest game to grace this jam, absolutely hilarious and relatable. Keep making games my friend!
