Awesome game! Played in browser and the sound was a bit out of sync, so I could not really rely on the music to hit the keys, was more like a visual thing, but still a great game

Developer

That's odd, but web builds generally do have problems like that.

Really amazing game! It was a lot of fun to play (i just played every song one time but still), am pretty bad at rythm games but still the music is awesome, the controls are great, and the style of the visuals is really cool. A really great job.

Wow well done! I love rhythm games, so I might be biased, but I really enjoyed it!

I have plenty of small comments, that I will put in the random order generated by my brain:

  • I would have ordered the songs in a different order. The first one has a quick pattern at the beginning, and if you aren’t used to the controls yet, you will likely have trouble passing it.
  • Once I saw that toasting your bread game a huge score boost I did it every-time. ^^ I was a great idea.
  • The musics were very cool!
  • I tried typing the Konami code, in the menu and in game, but nothing happened?… Or maybe it was too subtle to notice?
  • Felt the game was too easy… Apart from a pattern near the beginning of the first song, you only had to hit the ~notes~ breads on full notes. But I play a lot of rhythm games so I am not a good representative of players.

Anyway, good job!

I was too curious about the cheat code, so I downloaded you source and forced opened the cheating menu. And wow I was not disappointed, so many extra challenges! The “perfect” mode was just what I needed for the adrenaline.

I ended up doing most of the achievements (just skipped 1rst song perfect), and it was lots of fun.

Developer (1 edit)

The intended way to open the cheat menu is to enter the konami code and press enter at the end x) glad you've enjoyed the game! I agree that the first song had a difficult beginning, but unless you're doing a perfect run I thought it was fine.

Also, Jesus Christ those perfects on level 2 and 3

Edit: if you wanted, you could have just edited the settings file in the user directory, the "cheats enabled" flag is there!

A neat little rhythm game, I liked how the bread got more and more burnt as you failed. Could have done with some more effects when you land a good slice.

I found it pretty difficult but I'm not very good at rhythm games. Good job!

Good stuff, I like rhythm games and it didn't disappoint. I agree with the other comment that I'd have preferred the controls to be next to each other. My brain didn't like them being apart! :D

The idea is super interesting. Well done !

Is there anywhere I can listen to the songs without having to play the level each time? I'm no good at rhythm games, but I do enjoy the music!

Developer

There was no time to add a music player menu, but you can go to the source and download the files in the Music folder! :)

Got it - thanks!

I'm a big fan of rhythm games, so I got a little too hooked into it and ended up finishing all three songs, lol. Nice game!

Fun little rhythm game! I was.... not very good at it though.

The music was great and the rhythm game works for the theme :)

I never thought I'd play another rythm game, but this somehow hooked me!

Being able to remap the controls would have been awesome, for using something like asdf or 1234 with one hand, but dfjk also worked fine for me.

Sound and graphics were very good an fitting! Altough I think the third level could have adapted a bit more the the rythms of the song. (Though it must be unbearably hard to implement the patterns into the game, I guess...)

Glad that I played this game. Well done!

Developer

Thank you! I had originally planned remappable controls but I barely had time to pack what I did into the game!

Totally understandable! I think you made the right choice with the features that are in the game now!
