How does your game fit the theme?
The game has you play as a die. That die then rolls around, with each side giving you a unique ability when it faces up.

Very fun and chaotic. The addition of an ability that benefits the enemies makes being careful a lot more rewarding and discourages spamming the attack button. Also the art is very appealing

Thank you!

Cute game and concept! Love the different elements and how it affects gameplay. Also great UI and tutorial screens.

Developer

Thank you!

low skill ceiling water is overpowered it would be cool if different powers worked different on different enemies great idea why isn't jump mapped to the up arrow?

Developer

I could make it so that both W and the up arrow are mapped to jump in an update. The concept of certain elements having different effects on enemies is interesting, I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks for the feedback!

Wow! We also developed the theme of the elements in our dice, cool!

When the opponent is hanging in the air, it looks a little clamped, you need a sine animation. Well, it would be cool if the cube automatically rolled to the edge, otherwise it twitches if it stands on the edge.

In general, good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'll try to add the sine animation for whenever the enemy is idling. For the twitch, can you explain that a bit further? I had an issue with that in development.

Submitted

To catch twitching, you should slightly tap A or D. How to fix it? You need to round the current angle of the cube to an angle that is divisible by 90 without remainder. "angle MOD 90" or something like this.

Developer

alright, I'll add a fix to that after the jam. Thanks for elaborating!

I love the idea of this game and your take on the theme, the powers are interesting and fun and the heal gives some variety.  Really polished, nicely done!

Developer

Thank you! I just played your game, we have a pretty similar mechanic. Although I really like the way you took yours!

Submitted

I enjoyed your game a lot. The different powers were lots of fun (Water was my fav!) and I'm also a sucker for a game where you can heal the enemies by accident, so great work with that!

If you were to continue working on the game, it would be fun to add some effects to the shots as they hit the enemy! Would be a fun way to differentiate the elements further.

Great work and congrats on submitting!

Developer

Thank you!

Fun! I liked the art and different ability the dice had, the jumping and getting stuck to the platforms was odd, but still a fun game.

Developer

Thank you! The sticking to platforms is a bug and I will get it fixed in a patch after the jam.

Development wasn’t too stressful, thanks for asking! I’ll be make sure to check your game out!

Submitted

ok! I see where this is going. I like how you are forced to move around in order to use the element you want. I feel like it's missing something though, to make it a little more dynamic; something that the player can do/develop skill to balance it out, bc I did feel a little too constricted by the mechanic.

Developer

Are you able to elaborate a little bit further? I don’t quite understand.

Submitted

yes and no, because I'm not sure what the ideal solution is lol. Don't get me wrong; your game has a great baseline! And with some tweaks it could gain gameplay depth, making it more engaging, because right now it's a little basic for the genre you're in. So, for instance, you are actually only using 4 sides of a d6, so maybe if you click on yourself, you can expose the other two sides gaining access to new abilities (shield/jump). Just a thought! :)

Developer

That would be an interesting concept, might need to experiment with that after the jam.

Submitted

Pretty neat concept! The physics felt a bit weird at times, and the water weapon was undoubtably the strongest. A few quick tweaks after the jam ends could fix this

Developer

I'm probably going to fix these issues in a patch after the jam. The issue with sticking to walls should be pretty simple to fix. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

The physics are a bit janky and some powers are more underwhelming than others, but the concept is very interesting and could be very nice in a more traditionnal platformer, maybe with puzzling elements ?

The art is cool !

Developer

I'm assuming the water powers the most powerful. I'm probably going to buff the other elements and somewhat improve the issue of sticking to walls in a patch after the jam. Also the concept of this being in a puzzle platformer sound pretty interesting! Probably would require me to change the game a lot though. Thank you for the feedback and thanks for playing!

I really like the art, mechanics, and game concept! Really cool entry!

Nice game, really good art and I love the mechanic.

But I would've maybe spend a little more time on the player movement. Because it feels a bit weird that you stick to the platforms. (Also I personally would increase the player weight/gravity so that the player falls faster to the ground).

But overall a good entry ^^

Developer(+1)

Honestly, fair points. They should also be pretty simple to implement. Just change a few settings with the rigidbody in Unity. I appreciate the criticism and thanks for playing!

Water is a bit overpowered xD
I really like the ability to switch between different elements. Having them change whenever I moved led to me figuring out I could stand in one place and mostly gun enemies down before they could hit me, but there's plenty of space here to design around that! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Oh well, guess I need to buff every other element now lol. Thanks for playing!

Although I mostly just rolled around spamming abilities it was a very fun game!

Developer

Thank you!

Let's be honest here, I spammed my way through lol but it was enjoyable so good job ! I like how the art is really simple yet creates a good atmosphere.

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed my game!

The art style is so adorable! I have fun playing it. Good job! : D

Developer

Thank you!

This was probably unintended, but the cooldown resets after you change sides, but this for me was the best part, so I kept switching between lightning and water and obliterated everyone, and had a blast :D

Developer (1 edit)

As they say, it's not a bug it's a feature! Thanks for playing!
