A nice game with a good character design! I loved the balance of strategy and luck!

Cool presentation and idea! Really liked the boss design and dice looked great (cool how they were both 3D and 2D).   I did find I was just always choosing the dice with the most big numbers/biggest numbers, if you were to continue work on game would be nice to add a bit more complexity and strategy to decisions (though same goes for the game we made).  I had fun time playing though, great job!

This was a really cool version of the idea of playing with risk and reward. There's a lot you could build on here, I like it!

The game design, concept, and presentation are all really awesome! I had 0 health but survived anyway... Is this a bug? Anyway, great game overall!

Developer

Thanks. Yes sadly there is a bug where you survive with 0 hp sometimes...

Definitely still an amazing game, but thanks for the response!

I like the visual representation of the dice laid out, and the character/boss design is fun too. Minimalistic but fun game. :)

Our team actually had a very similar idea of rolling dice in combat with your opponent, and even taking their dice once you beat them! Very cool to see all the differences in our gameplay, too. Hope you check it out!

Really cool looking !
The gameplay feels like the start of a good concept. It could be really nice to refine it a bit to add a bit more player agency but for a jam game it's impressive stuff :)

Developer

Thanks ^^

Really nice concept! I loved it and there is many way to improve it and that's what drive my interest when i try a new game <3 Good job!

This concept for a game could have gone horribly wrong, but it didn't, this game came out really great! I feel like it was 40% strategy and 60% luck. I do prefer games that are less RNG based, however the game being RNG is probably the point, so I'm alright with it. I'm also impressed on how you managed to make a six sided die work in 2D. The presentation of this game was simple, but extremely well done. The animations were cute and enjoyable to look at. Overall solid game, good job!

Developer

Thank you very much and yes I also really struggled with implementing a 3D die in 2D

Yes, the game itself was more or less an experiment. I wanted to see how much rng I could add without making it feel to unfair (That's why I added the option to select/replace/reject new dice so that the player has more control about the rng factor).

I really enjoyed the music, color palette, and sound effects, cool game!

Thank you :)

The music and sound are great. The slot machine enemy has an awesome design. I agree with the other comments that the game doesn't change much from fight to fight -- the differences in dice don't substantially change the gameplay. I love how the dice fill up the pit over the course of the fight -- I wonder if that could be implemented into the gameplay mechanically somehow. Nice job!

Had a fun time playing this, got to level 6. Might feel a bit samey? I didn't really have much excitement about the prospect of new dice because the variance was pretty small it seemed like, but maybe I just didn't get far enough.

Developer(+1)

Thank you.
Yes, maybe I could add new dice if I continue working on this game (I just had a little bit of time pressure xD)

I'm not sure how but, I lost all my health and didn't die. Then I was able to just roll through each level to the end.

I agree with the comment from pl0s about the rng being too much of a factor, but it definitely fits the theme of the jam! I also really enjoyed the art and audio. Great job!

Yea, unfortunately there is still a small bug which let's you survive when you should have died. I recommend to just reload the site.

(portuguese) Esse jogo tem muito potencial. Eu me diverti e fiquei realmente entretido com as mecânicas. Assistir os dados quicando hipnotizante. Recomendo uma continuidade do projeto.

Developer

Thank you :)
I think that I'll create a mobile version of this game with bug fixes and new features soon.

I thought the game was decently fun, although I thought it might be a little too reliant on RNG, I would have liked to see more of a balance of strategy and RNG. Not to say that there wasn't any strategy, there were times where I had to decide to finish off a weak enemy or take out the larger one with a higher number dice. The presentation was pretty good and I liked the sound design,  and I didn't see any bugs. Overall, pretty good work.
