First of all, I think the fact that you are using your own tool is cool and creative, but I can't tab out of it and still have the songs play in the background which is a pretty big accessibility issue (I'm using Firefox, don't know if other browsers work fine). It wouldn't be a big deal if you also had other ways to access the music (streaming, download) but the fact that it's the only way to listen to this its quite a bummer.

Ok let's talk about the songs themselves. They are honestly great, they didn't have boring sections, flow very nicely and have some moments of pleasant unexpectedness. The sound is great and mixed properly, and melodies are catchy in a chiptune-esc fashion. Can't really say anything too negative to be honest, but I would love to save these in some way like streaming or download.

Could be better, unfortunately i feel like its a bit repetitive and harsh on the ears with the sound choice.

I'm vibing with this, hell yeah, beep boops with orchestral string

Very cool, I honestly don't really have anything bad to say about this, it's a great tune and I didn't get bored while listening to it at all. I liked the repeating high beep boops going on here.

Very unique submission, I appreciate you being so expressive in your music. Its a bit too all over the place for my liking though, but I did enjoy the first track quite a bit, the piano with waves of synths have a digital-gothic quality which i really dig.

The sound and voicing is done great, and melodies are done pretty well as well. My favorite was the first track, with the textures at 0:35 and on. What could have been better is more interesting progression of melody ideas, it seems you (like many others) have an initial idea and add onto it throughout the track, which is good on its own, but I think it would be better if you went on more different directions in a song. Good luck on your next projects!

Quite cool. For what it's worth I think it fits the theme very well, and if it was in a meditative kind of game it would be great for that. For the jam, I would have wanted more movement in the sound, and something to latch on to - like a little melody later on, or some other ways to raise interest.

Absolutely magical, the sound, flow and mood is amazing, I love all songs and especially the last one: UPROOTED

Kinda reminds me of Celeste, whose sound I really like, could definitely see this in a high-grossing game. I would for sure give this a 5/5, but I can't vote since I'm not the submitter :/

Hi! I know you're probably not gonna see this after all these years, but I, together with a team, just won our first game jam competition! So I've been going through my older games and reflecting on what i did over the years, so I just thought I would say thank you for giving my first game jam game a chance, and writing a comment, it was really nice getting some feedback for a thing I worked on!

Pretty neat take on the theme, always glad to see a non-biscuit related game :D

The concept you came up with is great, and a surprisingly rare instance of a person doing the risk part of the theme, which is a big plus. The mouse sensitivity is suuuuper fast for me so it was hard to play

Very adorable! For some reason, my cat didn't do anything for the first 2 minutes of the game so I was very confused, but then it started the process so it was a bit clearer.

I'm not gonna repeat what other said about the window size, but yeah i had the same problem. Firstly, congrats on finishing the game on time, clearly there's a lot of content present in a week. From the gameplay perspective, you had a ton of ideas on cards, but the gameplay itself, for me was just casting all the spells i have and moving on to the next enemy, I would recommend you focus on making less content for other game jams, but refine the polish and game loop

Really good job as a 1 person entry, and with your own game engine, what a flex. Art and music are all great, and interesting, as far as gameplay goes its a pretty standard platformer, as with most entries to this game jam, the theme was not explored all that much

Wow the artists really outdid themselves here, and having a story in a game jam is definitely a brave decision, with the amount of time you had to build out the entire game :D. Although i'm not quite sure what was the intended style of play in this game, it seems to be going for stealth game mechanics, but the best strategy I've found, is throwing a bunch of cookies in front of my path and just picking them up and chucking them at the guards, because the camera zoom was a bit too zoomed in to properly plan out my moves.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback.

I have mainly designed systems for this game, so here's my two cents. I was also concerned with the game feeling overwhelming, and i'm honestly surprised you're the first one to point it out. The main thing I didnt communicate well enough is that the blocking was way more important than attacking, hence this is why the right side is way smaller. So just looking at the arrows and reacting to them was more than enough to clear the game. How the attack works is that if you do it correctly you get a +20% boost in damage, so if you only focus on the arrows you're not missing much (except the combos). UI definetly could use some experimentation with the layout, so i agree with you maybe a more condesed version could be better. Maybe something like a small pulse on the right side might have been better than dropping circles.

As for the arrows coming in advace - originally this game was more of a reaction test, but i've found clicking on the beat was way more fun, so i added that. So maybe you now see why it kinda has this weird inbetween of reaction and rhythm. Most of the mechanics were mid game decided on and implemented, and considering we submitted this game 10 mins before deadline, this is the best we could do :D

Pretty cool, although i liked the game-play of waiting for the right moment to walk up and strike with meele and then backing off, but then i realized you can just throw axes and made the encounters trivial

Super fun :D Ur such a nerd (complimentary) for adding the graphs haha, one of my favorite from the jam so far

Awesome art, honestly there should be more games that are with point and click to move and dodge. although shift and right click wasn't the best idea, it kept popping up the options menu on my browser

Cute! A little bit of a grace period before starting a new wave would been nice :D i get instantly bopped by knives the moment i choose a food

Awesome idea :D the second part i think bugged for me, the camera went stuck for some reason after restart

Cool! Always enjoy me some building options in games, and didn't expect to see it in this jam, very nice!

Cool little physics based platformer, not sure how it's related to the theme though

Hello! this looks interesting, but for some reason i'm stuck on "touch to start", i've tries clicking every button on the keyboard and mouse, am I missing something? I'll update this comment when I get to try the game :)

Great art honestly, with the time you had, you did great! I'm wondering if there is extra mechanics with the dice? i'm not sure when i get double damage or not.

The idea is good, but the execution could be better. How it's played right now, it's a game of how fast you can click on the things to clean them up, and less about resource management (which is maybe what you were going for, i don't know). You don't lose anything when cleaning up and don't have to make tough decisions if you want to add more people or not, if you're fast enough with your clicks.

Holy, very tough game for a game jam :D i've gotten through the first level a few times and after that i kinda got stuck. I recommend making your other game jam games way easier, you as the developer are very familliar with mechanics, and are better, so if you're even a little bit struggling on some levels, it's gonna be impossible for your players.

I'm sad I didn't get to rate it earlier, but this is fantastic, my favorite submission of the jam.

Thanks a ton! Huge fan of your work

Yes! It is indeed in 9/8

Thanks so much!

Very cool, the music box sounds very well with the ticking sounds. Every track has nicely defined theme, and is well executed. The melodies are also well made and don't get boring.

The link to the soundcloud doesn't work tho, you might want to recheck it.

Unsurprisingly amazing as always. Honestly unfair how good these textures are. Greatest of all time.

Amazing from start to finish. Honestly I don't have anything bad to say about this, just very solid all around. Also the climax to Broken Clock is MAGICAL.

Ok let me list the things I jotted down while listening:

Sun of water - Very cool sparkling quality to it, very fitting of the water theme of the track. The climax is also very appealing, and has a great sense of wonder, well done!

Sun of stars - Nice textures, probably my favorite track because of this. Nothing feels overbearing and is just a nice listen, with a nice progression and flow.

Final battle - Very cool vibe to it. Also the bells, I have to know what they are called... I think I heard them in a Terraria mod i think?

Overall very cool, consistent set of tracks

Cool! The second track has an interesting groove, what time signature did you use? As for the first track, i think it could use some more dynamic velocity on the piano imo. In Reaper there is "humanize" option by pressing H key, in which you can randomize timings and velocity to make it sound more human, if you want that kind of thing.

Thank u!

Quest Giver devs unite! There's is almost a half of a dozen of us! I'm surprised that given the same concept and even the same name, the games are quite different. Cool game!

Holly hell, yet another person with the same name and concept, didn't expect that :D Thanks for playing!

Thanks! I am always worried that the start of the game is too hard for a game jam audience, but i guess the difficulty ramp up could be a little steeper, thanks for playing :)
