How does your game fit the theme?
Its a deck-builder where you use cards to place buildings in order to build settlements. The score required each round scales up so you need to scale up your ability to score in order to keep up, you can do this but increasing the scale of your settlements and even the map they're built on.

AWESOME GAME!!! got to the point where I was just using bunkhouses, shops and churches, not sure if there is a better strategy than that or not, but I reached the millions. This is a crazy fun game, and is very well polished, the music and art were on point too. I would love to see this game develop even further, adding more progression and more mechanics, one idea is to add rare and new regions as the map expands. Overall brilliant job!!! Apart from reaching an upper limit of progression, (which makes sense considering this is a game jam) this game has been flawlessly executed and is one of my faves of this jam!!!!

fun little game, got to round 30 :) i had like 2 million dollars lol. my deck was only bunkhouses, shops and churches. those guys need to not be any land type wayyy too op. but very fun game nonetheless!!!

Yeah, I may have underestimated how long just getting things running would take so we ran out of time for balancing. We were also a bit limited by the number of assets we could make in time, planning to go back and expand on it, dialing in the balance and increasing variety are going to be big parts of that!

Awesome!!!!!

Nice game, the one I've spent the most time with so far. Got to round 6, didn't find a way to get extra turns (maybe there was) but only having 3 and relying on getting cards in the right configuration felt increasingly (un)lucky. I'm kind of confused what cards gave what at the end. The art is super cute and the sound was good and polished.

Developer

Yeah, one of the special cards increases your number of plays, there is a bit of RNG to it coming up but not seeing it in 6 rounds is very unlucky! Making that a bit more consistent/manageable is definitely one of our priorities when we come back to it!

Very very cool for a jam ! Thanks god i read the tutorial otherwise i would have been lost. Apart from that, the balance is quite good to me. Good job !

This is a great game! I just want to lay cards out and create little civilizations! It was fun to see this type of game mixed with a deck builder. The artwork is perfect. Overall, well done!

The first time I played, I always lost in the first round, then i read the tuto (Yes I did it in that order xD) and it was rreally good ! The only problem is that it was not clear enough what to do without reading tutos which is not a problem in jams but I feel like it could be done in your game. But how can I complain we did the same things ourselves.

The game is amazing and very polished. The gameplay is fun, like a cozy version of Balatro. I can totally see this game becoming a full release. There are some balancing issues, though. The Bunkhouse, Shop, and Church are way too powerful. Once you get one of them, it becomes very easy to start snowballing and get more. At that point, you don't need to play any other cards, and the strategy element is lost. But overall, it's still a very, very great game.

very laggy on my browser but pretty interesting concept!

Developer

Sorry to hear that, the issues seem to vary between browsers (my theory is that some don't handle Godot shaders or particle effects well), the desktop versions should be much more stable if you're keen to see it firing on all cylinders!

I loved every second of it! Card games are always the best and this one is no exception. It took a few tries for me to understand how the scoring worked, but after that clicked I had a blast. Made it to round 13 actually! Art is super cute too and the music fits nicely. Very well made!

Ayyy, another gnome game, a city-building one too!
I really like the semi-roguelike card collecting format personally, and this one, albeit a little simplistic, is very good too.
I couldnt fully understand how the scorekeeping worked, so there were a few moments where i had no knowledge of why i lost, but that might have been more obvious to others.
Its funny to see how similar this game is to ours, style-wise, with the tiny gnomes whose only recognizable feature is their big hats on the board.

Really nice game. Love it =)

I couldn't figure this game out. It says the score is based on the product of the separate resources, which you'd think are added together. But sometimes it's like the jobs are consumed by workers (gnomes), resulting in zero workers and thus zero score.

But I do think it's a very pretty game, and cool you went for a deck builder. I'm just having a hard time understanding the rules.

Good work!

Developer(+1)

The results are multiplied, not added. You need to make sure that the tiles you place are adjacent and you place at least 1 citizen card (the ones with the gnome faces) as well as worker cards. If you’re missing citizens for example, then everything gets multiplied by zero citizens, resulting in zero score :) hope that helps!

Submitted(+1)

Ahh so adjacent does matter. Ok, thanks.

Great game! Very polished for a Game Jam entry. I really liked the art style and how responsive all the animations were for the cards and buttons

Submitted(+2)

Loved the artstyle. A really engaging game with polished and well designed gameplay. Great work!

I absolutely loved this game. I think this is the most time I spent on the game in this jam. Got to 11 rounds, the required score gets brutal after that :D What's your highscore?

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it, I think the highest I've gone is around round 28 but that might have been on a less balanced version than the final build. The trick is to snatch up a bunch of extra plays, but that takes a bit of luck in the shops, something we'll definitely work on smoothing out if we expand on it!

Submitted(+2)

I really like the artstyle and the way the cards turn around towards your muse is really satisfying! The game play did confuse me a bit, even with the tutorial, I think maybe it was too much information to digest at once, with a decent amount of writing, but the small videos did help alot and got me started with how to interact with the enviroment with my cards. Maybe the tutorial could be in bits while you play the game, but I enjoyed playing it and well done on adding so much content in just four days :)

Fun and cute game! Loved the artstyle and music choice!

Cool little deckbuildier you got there. Took me a bit of time to figure out all the mechanics (the tutorial helped), but once i got the hang of it it was really enjoyable. One thing i would have liked, is to be able to check the deck before/during the 'intermission' phase, to check what kind of terrain i got covered and where i still have mostly weak cards. Other than that, great work!

Developer

Glad to hear you enjoyed it :) You should be able to bring up the deck (I might have called it inventory) at any time by pressing 'i'.

Amazing that you made this in 4 days!

An extremely cute and cozy rougelike deck builder. The artwork is phenomenal, great work.
