The art is so so lovely. I'm honestly surprised you made this by yourself, that's impressive!

It seems wholesome at first, but then the medic shows the boss the bill! So cold...

It might be fun if you had to avoid damaging or killing the enemies again after reviving them, or if you had to kill and then revive a monster in order to move forward!

The idea is cool and i really like the artstyle! Great job!

The background is very beautiful, and the design of the monsters is great.

I really liked the idea. :)

Absolutely love the artstyle! Great work on this, I had fun playing it.

Very cute!

Really cute art. I liked the lines of dialogs of the  monsters. The platforming is very basic, but it does the job. Congrats for making this solo!

I really liked the idea and the overall visual feel for the game. Also the end joke was quite funny. I felt the physics sometimes wouldn't work as smoothly or didn't feel as right as they should, especially with the jump (it felt quite slow). Also, in the last level, it would be cool to adjust it a little better so we could have some glimpses of what to do, which areas to avoid, like in the level prior (I kinda felt like playing in the dark). Also, as most of the gameplay was made to use the keyboard, I'd recommend adapting the hud to be controlled by it, especially after healing the monsters (it was kinda disruptive to have to get on the mouse to skip the dialogs compared to press space or even other key near WASD). I also think a calmer music could add to the atmosphere of the game, maybe a slower one or one with not much guitar (but I can imagine how hard can be to find music that fits into what you're doing).
Overall, I liked your work, and I wish you keep working on it to eventually make it a longer game, because the concept is really cool and I think the ingredients are there to have something special. Good job :)

thanks for the feedback, the controller was by in no way the final version I just had absolutely negative time to refine it. As for the music, my original plan was to have timers/health above each monster and you have to reach them in x time, and UI to show this too. But unfortunately my time management for the art to functionality was way off. Great point about the spacebar though. I do feel like the camera could've been a bit further out, I need to do some adjustments to level scale as it really was thrown together in the last couple hours (honestly was close to not submitting at all)

A cute little platformer. The monsters' comments after revival were hilarious and the music was amazing. Congrats on your first solo jam!

Congrats on your first solo jam!T he movement was of course a bit janky, I thought I could fly at first because of double jump + floatiness. But you not only finished your game with an interesting concept that fit the theme, it's also mostly bug-free (hello walls my old friends, nice to stick to you again) and entertaining. Good job!

A very entertaining and funny game! Great job

I like the creative concept and the dialogue for the monsters. Got stuck on the walls sometimes but other than that, good game. Congrats on your first jam!

Grats on the first jam, and a solo one at that! There was a good number of levels included, had a good time playing this

The double jump and triple jump feels great!
Wall stickiness is actually good I think. If you can jump again when stick to the wall. You can make a wall-jumping game like "Transformice"!
Also. it would be better if there's indicator for where are the monsters!

Well done completing you first solo jam. Love the bill for the boss at the end.

Great job for your first jam! I agree with all the other feedback.

I realized there was a double jump, and it seems like you needed to hit a wall to get a triple jump, which was a bit odd.

Developer

a triple jump? yeah my controller is definitely off as the intention was just a double jump :) I completely forgot to put a wall check in there so walls do feel funky as hell mb

Submitted

Simple and sweet, dialogue was funny at times. That bill to the boss xD
Movement was very floaty, and somehow I don't think the wall stickiness was intended?
This made me a bit nostalgic, feels so much like a "first jam game". I wish you luck in all your future jams!

Developer

yeah I made a basic controller for testing and was meant to come back and tighten it up but my time planning was way off tbh, definitely a great learning experience! Most of my c# experience is in 3D for VR  so it was fun to change it up

Awww, what a cute artstyle, and I love the idea! The gameplay could have certainly been a bit more polished, but not bad for your first time doing everything. Well done!

Developer(+1)

thanks! Usually my boyfriend does all the programming but he was away this week, so thought I'd have a go solo :)

Props to you! My girlfriend wants to let you know she wouldn’t have been able to do something close to that.

Developer

aww thanks so much😭

I love the idea, very cute! I really like the lines each monster delivers when you revive them. The platforming was quite loose, and one monster seemed(?) to need a wall jump that I simply wasn't capable of.

Thanks! Yeah I didn't have time at all to design proper levels it was just kinda chucked together, although you shouldn't need to wall jump at all to get to a monster? That's not really intended aha
