The music and art are great! I got kind of a space cowboy vibe from the music, so in my head they're on another planet. The audio and visual effects during the record sequence are also great, really good job on those! The record mechanic actually reminds me of some games I played during last year's jam, were any of those games inspiration?

Developer

glad you liked the music! All i had to go off was robot+alien so i was def thinkin sci-fi/spacey haha

Really nice concept, and looks great. Nice job!

Its a very cool mechanic and I would love to see more of it. Few bugs here and there but overall a great experience!

Developer

Thank you for your review. Due to some problem in UI we ran out of time debugging them and were not able to add more challenging and interesting levels.

The presentation for this is quite nice. SFX and Visual effects were perfect, and the animations for the little alien are great. Music was slightly overtuned, and the record loop felt a little slow. I think I did find a bug in level 2, after dying & pressing restart, both characters chilled in the air, so I had to start the game again. I think it's very impressive to craft a congruent project with so many people, good work!

Developer

Yes we faced some difficulties in the UI at the last moment and for that reason UI is not up to the mark. Thank you for your review.

Developer

Thanks! was my first time making SFX so glad you thought they were good

I had never seen a mechanic like that of the recording and repetition of the robot, excellent idea and very nice art

Thanks! We worked really hard and we're glad you like it! Do you mind leaving a rating?

Quite polished though a little floaty for the movement controls. The record/move combo is one I have seen yet in the jam and worked quite well. Not sure if it was the intended solution but the only way I found to solve the second to last level was to abuse the robot able to multi jump when on my head. Managed to finish the game and enjoyed my time with it.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the review. Yes we added that feature for future levels which we unfortunately couldn't complete because of time deficiency.

Extremely cute! I wish there were a limit on the number of records you could do, but otherwise fun and unique! Plus the art is excellent, as well at the actual visual effects!

Developer

Thank you for your review. Also noted your advice.

This was a fun game! I didn't read the controls on the game page, so I was uncertain of the controls at first since there was no tutorial. I was able to figure out WASD pretty easily. But I didn't know what to do about the robot until I just started spamming random keys until I eventually hit "R" to record. I didn't understand what recording did until I tried it a couple times, then I understood it.

I had a weird glitch with the UI, where I couldn't see any of the buttons at the end of the level. My computer is running Ubuntu, so I thought it was the game freezing and crashing. I restarted the game 3-4 times before I moved my mouse and accidentally saw what looked like the outline of a rectangular button. I couldn't see the button or text on it, but when I hovered over it, it showed a transparent black color. Idk if that's an "only me" type of problem because of my operating system or something native to the game, but that had me confused for a good few minutes.

Once I got going and understood the record mechanic, I had a ton of fun. Idk if this is intentional but I found what feels like an exploit. If you get the bot to land on your head in a corner, you can hold spacebar such that when you stop recording, the bot jumps infinitely. Then, if you walk around and the bot touches the ceiling while still infinite jumping, he can basically walk on air. Not sure if that's an exploit or a really cool intended mechanic, but it was a fun find.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I thought the puzzles were well designed and fun!

Thank you for the feedback. Actually at the last moment we really struggled with the UI system for some weird bugs and that's why our UI system is not up to the mark.
And about, that the robot jumping can jump in the air we decided that to keep that feature to add more interesting and challenging levels. But unfortunately time didn't permit us.
Any how, thank you for taking your time and providing an elaborate feedback.

nice cute game, i think the mecahnic is really the highlight here, most other entries in this jam are the "control two characters gimmick", however this game makes you think in advance, i really enjoyed it, nice job!

The recording mechanic is really cool. The music does not seem to fit at all with the aesthetic -- but I find that kind of endearing. Nice job!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it. That is the first comment I've heard to that affect but I will relay the feedback. Don't forget to rate!

Developer(+2)

I made some more music that fit a bit better (I think) but unfortunately we ran out of time to implement it! Thanks for the feedback

graphics look cool and I really like the recording shader! Good job!

Thanks for playing! We worked really hard on the atheistic and we're glad you liked it. Don't forget to rate!

took me a while to figure out how to play it but loving it rn

Developer(+2)

Sorry about that! I'm glad you liked it, make sure to leave us a rating!

cool and cute animation, great music riff for the background, the record effect is cool- well done! Took me a bit to figure out the Record action (pressing R for anyone stuck like I was) that make the robot move, really cool game! Enjoyed it ^^

Developer(+2)

glad you liked the music! i made some more but we had a bit of a time crunch trying to implement all of it!

Submitted(+4)

Nice presentation, could explore the mechanic further in more levels.

Developer(+2)

Thanks! We ended up running into bugs that stopped our level development! We plan on flushing it out a bit more if you want to keep an eye out!

Submitted(+3)

Really loved it, worked quite well for me without too much struggle. Good job on this, I don't really have much to complain about, other than there needs to be more levels in future!

The concept and presentation are great!

Too bad you didn't have time to fix the bugs and and some more interesting levels requiring more interesting uses of the robot.

Took me a minute to figure out the controls and the main mechanic, but once I pressed that record button and saw the main mechanic, the feeling was magical
