*flashbacks to trying to get into electrical engineering and debugging a breadboard circuit*

This was a unique game which focuses on joining together circuit segments with diodes, to light up some lightbulbs. Although the final one didn't light up, I enjoyed figuring out how everything clicks together and it was satisfying to see all the wires & diodes light up.

The game is nicely presented with simple yet expressive and neat visuals, however I do wish the diodes had an indication for which way they conduct electricity, or that they were swapped with just wires. I found myself connecting them and then having to rotate them 180° because it happened to be the wrong direction. This is only a minor complaint though, on a really neat and creative take on the theme.

Great job on your game and congrats on submitting to the jam!

Developer (1 edit)

We are happy that you liked the visuals of the game. We will soon be pushing an update as per the suggestions and feedback we have received. Thank you TheSunCat, for stopping by and dropping a comment. :)

Interesting concept but i was missing a bit of instructions and visual feedback (for example something like flowing energy and an orientation mark). I had to try a bit before understanding what i was exactly supposed to do.

Still fairly well executed. Good Job!

Developer

Thank you TinyLittleStudio for stopping by and adding a comment. We are happy you found the concept interesting and we have a lot of suggestions and feedback from awesome people like you and we will be making a change in our major release soon. Thanks!

Really nice concept! It would be easier for new players if you differentiate which circuits can be rotated. Well done )

Developer

Yes, Zeminyok we will be making that change when we have a major release soon :) We are happy you liked the concept and we thank you for dropping a comment.

Interesting concept! I ran into similar issues others have commented on about not being able to light the last bulb and that lines seemed to have a specific orientation, but otherwise it was fun seeing the circuits light up. This could be a really interesting puzzle idea for learning more about electric circuits.

Good job!

Developer

We will try to add more logic relevant to the electric circuit and we are happy that you found the concept interesting. We appreciate you stopping by and adding a comment, Norcrel. Thank you :)

A really cool and fun game with brilliant ideas, and a really good interpretation of the theme! But just as others have also said, I really don't know how to light the last bulb... Anyway, I can definitely see the potential in this game and wish you guys can add more depth to this game in the future :) Overall, this is really a fantastic work for 48 hours. Nice work!

Developer

We are happy that you liked our take on the theme and found the game fun to play. We have all the suggestions noted down and we will make the changes in our future updates. Thank you DrCarlLuo for stopping by and leaving a wonderful comment. :)

Not sure what I did wrong, I can light up all the bulbs except the last one. This is such a creative concept though. Could have been better with some music in the background with some challenges rather than just rotating things. Perhaps if levels will be implemented, it can also be a circuit of a radio or television, etc. I like the overall minimalistic design. Haven't found a game like this personally. Well done!

Developer

We are glad that you found our minimalistic design approach for the game and liked the concept of circuitry. We have noted down all the suggestions and feedback that we have received from all the awesome people like you and we will implement those in our next release. Thank you Roomah Gaming for investing your time into playing our game and adding a useful comment. :)

I really like this take on the theme with circuitry and all that, definitely unique, though I'm not sure how much "game" there is here, which is fine, with some relaxing and chill music and some chiller sound fx you could make a fun experience of just slowing lighting up an entire circuit board or even have the lightbulbs represent stars in the night sky or something, if the intention is to be a puzzle game though, I'd say you have to look at the challenge you're presenting people with, in this case there's nothing to "figure out" you just rotate the things till they light up, unless I was really missing something. Anyway, overall it's alright, quite original, and has pretty solid presentation and visuals, a solid entry.

Developer(+1)

We really found your suggestions interesting and different than most of the others we have, so this definitely adds value to the list we have. We will be adding more complexity to the levels and make it challenging.  Our initial goal was a little different, but we were running out of time. The batter was supposed to play a vital role in connecting the circuit, but we had to park that one for the later release. We will be working more on this project and release it as a full version in near future. Thanks, TheChronicPhenix for your valuable suggestions and ideas and we are happy that you liked our take on the theme. :)

Great Job bhai. Very interesting concept. Can be fleshed out more.

Getting a bit of problems with resolution though, maybe it's just on my PC.

Well done overall.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

We are sorry about the resolution issues you had. This is our first upload to Itch and we were also running out of time, so we didn't get a chance to test the game. We have all the suggestions noted down and we will be making the change as we get a chance. We are also happy that you found the concept interesting and can already see it in a full version. Thank you Minority Games for adding your valuable comment. :)

Developer

Thankyou Minority Games, we are glad to know you found it intresting. Surely, we will check your game:)

Interesting concept! A bit weird that the lines only work in one orientation but overall a pleasant experience!

Developer

Thanks Hussain, for checking out our game, we will surely make things better as we get a chance. :)

Developer

We are happy you had a pleasant experience after playing the game and found the concept interesting. Thank you for stopping by, Hussain.

game idea and sound effect is great ;  but I am really confused at how to light the lines ;

Developer (1 edit)

Thankyou OrangeCatGames for playing our game, we are glad you like the idea and sound effect. As of now, the line work in one direction and the lines glow, when the fit perfect. We are planning to have many changes to make it better, once we get the chance :)

Developer

We are glad you liked the idea and the sound effect. The click sound was the last-minute addition to the game. :) The conductors, for now, fit one way, and post the jam we will have it fit both ways.  Thank you for dropping a comment, OrangeCatGames.

It's a nice concept.  As some others have said if it had some meta-goal or some reason that things had to be connected the way they do, it would incentivize playing.  At the moment I sort of felt as though I was playing connect-the-dots, but I was only allowed to connect them using a provided pattern.  (I'm the kind of person who liked to draw off the dotted lines in workbooks, creating my own additions to the pictures XD )  Was nice to look at.
Thanks for the experience!  ^_^

Developer(+1)

We are happy that you had a nice experience playing Glow It and liked the concept. We have noted down all the suggestions which we will be implementing in our next release with more challenging levels. Thank you for dropping a useful comment, Dracaemelos.

Developer(+1)

Thankyou Dracaemelos, we are glad that, you like our concept. Yes there were some reasons, that we have to allow lines to be connected in one way, but we have noted down the feedback and will make changes, once we get the chance to do :)

Cool game! I really like the simplistic art style and the sound when you rotate a circuit! Nice work!

Developer (1 edit)

The sound was the last thing we added to the game and we were trying our best to be able to compile and submit our first even game. We are happy that you found the game interesting and liked the minimalistic approach to the visuals. Thank you for stopping by, Sombrero Guy.

Developer

Thankyou Sombrero Guy for your appreciation, we are glad to know that you like the art style and sound effect. ^_^

Submitted(+1)

Intriguing concept. Art style is minimalist but looks very intentional. There's a lot of potential for diverse puzzle layouts, and the interaction mechanic is intuitive. Might be helpful for new players to have a ramp up to more complicated circuitry patterns, and adding either a timer or a move counter could gamify the experience further. Should definitely flesh this out more, though. Nicely done :)

Developer(+1)

We are glad you liked the concept and the art style. We are making a note of all the suggestions and you have provided some good ones which we will try to add in our future updates. This is actually just one big level with 4 sub-levels, we are planning to add more levels and it will get more challenging as the player advances. Thank you Neat Trick, for stopping by and investing your time in adding constructive feedback and playing our little game

I am not a puzzle lover TBH, but this one was easy. At first I was endlessly rotating the line and later I just started to stop on the one that lit up.

What makes this one a little different is the satisfaction you get after the bulb lit up and because sometimes the games becomes frustrating and all I do is exit. As many other comments, yes even I felt that the line could have pass the current both the ways, but as per the developer's responses they will make that work later, so they have heard this million times by now smile smile

I had fun and it was a visual treat. 48hrs and less developers, bugs are expected, you guys still did better and congratulations on uploading the games because we failed to do one as we ran out of time. All the best!

Developer

We are glad that you figured out the puzzle and found it satisfactory. We have all the suggestions and feedback noted down so we will work on it and release the update. I am sorry that you weren't able to upload your game, we would love to hear the concept if you want to share it with us. Thank you, Rockstart23 for sharing your "Glow It" game experiences.

I was amazed when the light bulb went on, the aesthetics are truly mesmerizing as others in the comment. Even I felt like why the wires won't connect the other way, but then I check the description and it only fit's one correct way. Apart from that the click sound was relaxing as well. Overall, the game is awesome and I felt relaxed in the end. Good Job!

Developer(+1)

We are happy that you have found the game relaxing and the aesthetics mesmerizing :) We will have the conductor's rotation fit both ways in the next release. Thank you Venessa for stopping by and adding a comment.

Developer

We will surely make things better as we get a chance and we are happy that you found the aesthetics pleasing and relaxing. Thank you for commenting, Venessa.

Interesting idea ! I got confused at first because pieces fit only in one side, I did not understand why some pieces were hilighted and some weren't. But once you understand the concept it works pretty well ! Except the final one, that for some reason I did not manage to light.

Developer(+1)

We are glad you found the idea interesting. Yes, the conductor as of now fits only one way, but it will be changed in the next release. Thank you, JRevel for stopping by and playing our game.  Much appreciated! :)

Developer

Thank you JRevel for playing our game, we really appreciate you taking out time to add a comment.

I like the visual of the game. Take some time to try clicking on every element in order to understand how the game works at first. Interesting idea + nice execution!

Developer(+1)

We are happy you liked the aesthetics of the game and the concept. You can also try to right-click to for anti-clockwise rotation and it works faster for most cases. Thank you, WaratK for stopping by and adding a comment. :)

Developer

Thank you WaratK for playing our game, we really appreciate you taking out time to add a comment.

Please do not mass post fake comments on people’s submissions while voting them all 1 star. It’s pretty shady when you leave a comment saying “good sound design” for a game where the developer didn’t even have time to add sound to their project.

Submitted(+2)

Looks and sounds great! Confused why I had to rotate some circuit points 360 to get it to light up - I ended up just rotating everything that moved just to make sure, and that took a bit of the challenge away. Really cool idea!

Developer(+1)

We are happy you liked the aesthetics of the game. The reason conductors only fit one way is that we had a last moment issue with the sprites and had to adjust the code accordingly. It is already fixed and we will be adding it in our next release. Thank you, Crunchwraps for stopping by and adding a comment.
