Amazing game , Please rate my game

Whoou amazing game! 😱 I love the art and the music (the loop is a bit short though, it's overwhelming after a while)

The concept is really original! It took me a while to understand why some cubes turn yellow/red and when the TNTs explode 🧐

I scored 11693! I don't really know what it worth but that was fun! 😁

Thank you very much for your kind words! We are currently considering and changing a few of these more or less difficult to understand functionalities and will publish them a few days after the GMTK GameJam 2021 ends!

The currently highest known score is about 35.000 but the average score sits around 5.000 - 8.000 meaning your score of 11.693 is already very good! We are glad that you enjoy our game so much!

Have already seen several streamers play this game before, but after I had played this game myself, I found this game even more fun than I thought before. The concept and ideas of this game are very unique and brilliant. The game is not difficult, but it does take some time to understand the property and function of each kind of block. Also, the artwork of this game is really nice and I love this kind of art style very much. Overall, this is really a nice work for 48 hours!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! We are currently discussing and considering a few changes and fixes which we will publish a few days after the GMTK GameJam 2021 voting ends!

Cool idea, but a bit buggy, I had to refresh the page a few times in order to get a game without bugged blocks at the start, and I'm not sure I understood why sometimes blocks fell even though they were attached to other blocks. The concept itself is really fun, I'm sure that with some polish it could make a great arcade game.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. There is a currently known issue that when a second round is started before all blocks have fallen from the screen that these may freeze up. We also put a warning regarding this problem up on the project page and will publish a fix once the GMTK GameJam 2021 voting ends!

The various materials may fall when there are no adjacent materials to the left or right. This is signaled by a slight color change from yellow to red to black before falling. These mechanics are also described on the project page in the „How To Play (Spoilers)“ section.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you still enjoyed our game!

Cool idea! I like the idea of building a path in front of you as you go, and different blocks having different effects. I do think it got a bit repetitive fairly quickly, and once I understood what I was doing there wasn't much challenge. Maybe if there were different obstacles in the level you have to get over it could keep the challenge fresh for longer.

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback! Sadly due to the time constraint of the GMTK GameJam 2021 we had to cut down on the actual variety of the materials. We are however considering adding a few more obstacles and interactable materials into the game once the GMTK GameJam 2021 voting ends depending on it's popularity!

I love the artstyle of the game! The music was kind of repetetive so that can be improved. The concept of the game is definitely interesting and I had fun playing it!

You could actually stall Bob by creating a one tile gap in the scaffolding, not sure if this was intentional but it allowed me to gain some extra time to build the scaffolding ahead

Overall an awesome entry to the jam! Great job!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words! There are various (and some definitively unplanned) ways of BOB interacting with the environment which makes it so much fun to build with BOB! We do not consider this a bug but a feature!

Really polished game with an original idea and amazing graphics!

I really like the look of it all. The concept is simple but clearly  has a lot of potential. I wasn't quite sure how things worked at first, and not being able to drag blocks higher than than 3 or 4 tiles felt arbitrary, but it was cool once I got going.

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback! We are currently internally trying out various build heights and are considering publishing these changes once the GMTK GameJam 2021 voting ends!

This was a fun take on the theme! I sort of wish there was a way to recover and speed back up when you get slowed down by the helicopter tiles, but outside of that this was a well-polished entry. Nice work!

I haven't seen another game quite like this. Clever take on the theme! Once I got past the first couple tries, I really got into it. Like others said, there was a rhythm to it. Fun game!

Submitted(+1)

Visually very pleasing, I had trouble sometimes placing blocks that I thought should fit. I ended up figuring out a rhythm. Good Job!

This game is very ejoyable but i think the gameplay is restricted by the different trypes of blocks, maybe adding more threats to the player could be a great idea... Anyways, good game! Congratulations!

Thank you for your kind words! Sadly due to the time constraint of the GMTK GameJam 2021 we had to cut out a few already planned and fully textured as well as animated materials. We are still considering adding them in once the GMTK GameJam 2021 voting ends!

Cute game with nice art! This would work really well as a mobile game or something. However, the mechanics are a little esoteric and I think making a full playable tutorial would be one way to vastly improve the game!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We are currently discussing a new way of introducing new materials to the player to easy in the learning curve. We are also considering to publish a Android and iOS version depending on the popularity during the GMTK GameJam 2021!

Pretty good concept, thoroughly enjoyed it aside from the bugs! Would definitely like to see this with some fixes post-jam!

Wow, this is a lot of fun. Great job with the level generation and the different kinds of blocks.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Original idea! Nice art and sound, good job :)

A very simple concept which I think was quite well executed, but it just might not be my cup of tea.

But first, the good things:

Actually great art and music. The game is just generally well put together and therefore your game deserves great presentation. Good job!

There is polish and fixes that help with making sure controlling the boxes and joining the boxes together is as easy as possible.

Some caveats:

I think there should be a way for BOB to regain speed after losing speed after using the floating platforms. Maybe around every 500m or some fixed distance, to reward player for balancing their usage of floating platforms.

Its actually quite a good game regardless. Kudos!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words and suggestion. We are aware of the pacing issue and will address this once the GMTK GameJam 2021 ends!

Submitted(+1)

An interesting concept for sure. However, it seems like in some runs, there weren't enough blocks and the player character moved a bit too slowly, so the camera slowly overtook him until he fell offscreen. :/ Overall, a unique idea and great presentation. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! The only way we could imagine this happened was if there was too much TNT and all the materials got destroyed. It is possible to use the same blocks and place them back and forth to progress when materials are sparse.

We are also currently discussing on how to best optimize the pacing issue with BOB as in a normal case BOB will move as fast as the camera does but can generally be stopped by other materials to fall behind. You then can use materials directly placed behind and in front of him to give BOB a little push!

Submitted(+1)

Nice job!

As others have mentioned, the visual polish is quite good. I liked that I was able to recover some distance by placing blocks on top of myself, it added a little bit of mastery to an otherwise simple mechanic.

I think it could add a lot to this game if bob sped up over time, very gradually. Not to impossible speeds, but to difficult speeds.
