Interesting resource management game. I will say it was a lot to try and juggle just being thrown into it.

It might have been nice to do a small tutorial and really help players who aren't huge into this genre understand what the best/essential options are for them to choose.

Cool idea, and impressed you did it in 48 hours!

I was pleasantly surprised after assigning two crewmates to one task! This theme interpretation must've taken so much time but you still did it!
It took a while to read through all tooltips, it would've really helped if list items had icons or were colour-coded based on related resource type. Task effectiveness could be moved besides the names, too.

Overall, this is an experience I enjoyed. So much more can be done with the interactions! But beware of scope creep.

On a more nit-picky note, though,
"A calming presence!  g e n e r a t e  + 2  s t r e s s"

Ahh! One snuck through! I tried cleaning up all of the Stress-related Copy to "Take X stress" or "Relieve X stress". My 3am brain is not good at writing  😅

Very glad you enjoyed it :)

Very interesting take on the "Joined Together" theme, that was quite fun, wish there was some sound effects though.

"The Cold Abyss Comes for Us All" has got to be one of the best game over screens I've ever seen.

Great game - maybe some top-menu graphical UI to see crew needs a little better might be a good addition with more time!

Did you name one of the robots after Elon Musk's son? 5/5.

Jokes aside, I have a deep appreciation for this type of games in game jams. It's not the generic type of game and it's a type of game which is really hard to balance in such a short time.

Well done!

SOMEONE FINALLY NOTICED!

That was a decision made in sleep-delirium around 3:10 am on Sunday morning when I finalized the names away from "Robot 1" / "Robot 2" / "Alien 3"

Cheers, it was a lot of work :)

This was so fun to experiment and the whole time I was wondering how someone could put so much thought in the attributes and different synergies of crew members. Though these types of games aren't my cup of tea for my small smooth brain, it was pretty fun blindly putting crew members next to each other and reading what happens next! It's pretty clear that a lot of thought and passion was put in this project :)

This is great. Very nice idea and pretty fun game. Don't know what else to say... Some music and sound effects would definitely benefit to the mood of the game tho

Dammm you made a simulation game during a jam, impressive! :)

Nice idea. It was quite fun to experiment with the crew combinations trying to get some needed boosts. It looks nice from the visual point of view. I think the game would be a little bit more immersive if there were sound effects or some music. But I get that you probably haven't time to put them in there because it seems you have quite a lot of work. The game seems to be quite polished and I haven't encountered any bugs.

This is a very classic kind of game. Reminds me of some old DOS games.

Pretty neat game, good job! Really impressive game for a 48h jam, also very original concept.

Kinda boils down to "which person will give me the highest numbers in this state". I like that you went with a strategy game but maybe you could've made it a bit harder, I found it quite difficult to lose. Possibly some sounds would've made it more interesting, but hey this is a 48 hour don't have time for everything!

Overall well done!

Damn, trying to make a strategy of any sort for a game jam is a huge task. Congratz on "having enough balls" to try this out. The visual side of the game is good, however, the gameplay itself does not give you enough feedback to immerse you into a flow state. If you can try to help the player navigate through the early stage, you could have a much more polished product. Overall, nice entry.

It was SO MUCH WORK! I spent 33 hours of the 48 hour jam working (with some mild tea/coffee/snack breaks in between). I seriously appreciate your comments.

I agree. What I really wanted was to slowly introduce more characters (where you only start with 2 humans and 1 of the aliens) over the course of the game. That way the player would have had more time to learn the basics while the difficulty ramps up with the consumptive traits.

Interesting game,

Although I had hopped for a more difficult game, here, if you get the combo captain + bob, you've basically won...

the idea though is interesting. and with a bit more options for characters would be really fun

Developer

Can't argue with that! Right after my first playtest during submission, I immediately nerfed the Bob+Captain combo from +30 to +5, and nerfed the Bob power drain from -15 to -10.

Thanks for playing!

Great submission! It was fun discovering how the different crew members all interacted with each other! Great Job!

Nice idea.  I don't believe it was explicitly stated, but the "join" aspect comes from the synergy between certain crewmate combinations.  Over the six rounds, I found myself playing the game like the board game "Mastermind" where I try to find the optimal combination of crew for each duty.  I'm sure I still missed some story elements, but that's okay.
I believe difficulty was toned down  to make sure we got through, so instead some sort of high score achievement would be your goal, or seeing how many story elements you can find.

Neat game!

Hey everyone! Thanks for playing my game. I had a lot of fun making it.
