A really nice and relaxing game! I liked the system that you created very much. Maybe change the background colour from black to a more brighter one. I enjoyed playing the game a lot.
Great work!

Great work!
Very cool idea! however, it could definitely do with more explanations and a more forgiving start. I figured out how to make wheat grow, but then the game ended and I didn't know why.
That's a really, really ambitious game ! I did a lot of runs, trying to unterstand how does the game work, and each run was more pleasant than the other ! I'm astonished that you could make such a complex game in only 48h, congratulations for that !
Just one little thing : I didn't really understood how to generate wood ^^'. At some point I managed to get some, but I have no idea how xD. The tutorial is maybe a bit short : I would have loved to know how to generate each resource. I understand that you wanted the player to discover the rules by itself, but in my opinion, the real strength of the game is the creation of the village itself ^^.
Otherwise, that's a really good idea, and I'm really curious what you could improve with a bit more time =)
Tbh, I've had only 24 hours, so it's definitely over ambitious, and it's pretty sad, that I couldn't use 1st half of the jam time to create more responsive and player friendly game, with more thought rules, but it's a larger project after the jam.
So as extension to tutorial, to create Lumberjack you have to place village near two Forest cells, which consumes the forest cells so you have to prepare more Forest cells around so that the forest will keep on growing around, and allow Lumberjack to collect it. Also, when village has 4 other villages around, it turns into City.
In the end, there is not that much to it, but I'm thankful that you tried it out and left an insightful comment :3
I love this concept so much, I hope you keep working on it!
Some information on the rules used by the cellular automata would help, I felt like I was clicking randomly instead of planning. I know exploring and working out the rules is part of the game, but CA are all about complicated results from simple rules - trying to work out the rules from the results is pretty challenging! Maybe some feedback when a rule is activated (eg, highlight the cells that a rule was triggered by)?
Also, the visual style was quite dark and felt more like something digital than natural - maybe an earth tone colour palette?
Too much information for my brain XD An ambitious strategy game, good Job!
No way you did that, this is so ambitious. Congrats, seriously. I loved the idea, the sound design reminded me of the pharaoh game from sierra. Good old days. I'll save your game so I can play it later when I have more time.
Fun idea, though it's pretty difficult understand how the game is supposed to be played in the beginning.
Very interesting. With more tiles this would be one of those games you play for hours trying stuff out.
It was interesting to play. Great idea and good mechanics! Good job!
Please check my game as well ;)
