This gives me cuphead vibes in terms of artstyle, which is very good and pleasing to see! Would have been better to see an indicator how long the current rope length is, to let the players have a sense of progression, as well as some mechanic to not softlock players who pushed the block too far away (like me) and cannot further progress the game!

Great game! I personally love Metroidvania games, and the pipe length mechanic was a really cool way to limit where the player can go until they collect enough coins. The animation is really cool too. Good job!

What an amazing game! I love the concept of collecting coins to grow the length of your explorable area, it felt great. So many times I felt so close to getting a coin but had to leave and circle back to go and get them. The art and animation looked incredible, the music was perfect as well.

Overall, easily one of my favorites from the jam!

If you get a chance, check out my game!

Neat idea! Congrats!

Good job, the game is funny and easy to control. It took some time to understand the behaviour of the coins (maybe I missed something in the beginning), but after that everything was clear.
Nice game, good luck!

Wow. Just wow. One of the best games i played so far. Could be fleshed out into a whole metroid vania kinda game. 5 out of 5, definetly something for the top hundred. Would be nice if you could check out my submission too. :)

Hey this was really fun, well done! It's really satisfying making the tube get longer, the only thing I really have to say would be it'd be nice if I could move faster considering how much backtracking there is! Would like to see this concept explored further and with some polish!! :D

Feels like a really chill kind of underwater pacman, a good play

really lovely animation! I really liked the mechanic of coins increasing your range, it felt like a fun twist on the metroidvaina system, but instead of big leaps forward it was lots of little ones!

I do think you should be more carful with the boxes the magnetism didn't seem to work for me and its easy to get soft locked

Nice game! The art is stunningly beautiful! The theme is utilized well, and the execution stands out! Amazing work!

This is one of my favourite games so far - has the progression of a Metroidvania (oh, I want to go through that big cavern but I'm not long enough, e.t.c.) squished down into a jam-sized game. It used the theme really well and I had a lot of fun! Great job!

Your animator did a pretty amazing job. The tether is a really interesting way to get people to think about backtracking.

Animation is top notch and the gameplay gives me that Metroidvania feel!

i love it!.

Very decent game with one caveat. Softlocking yourself with boxes.

Intuitive gameplay and coin tease is on point. Feels like a natural evolution of the Snake game (or nobi-nobi boy).

You have an incredible sense of game flow. Also the simple design allowed to add so much - it's staggering. Doesn't feel like a game jam game at all.

how did you softlock yourself with boxes? There's a magnet on the sub that enables after standing still a couple of seconds, which allows you to get most out of reach boxes.

Already discussed this in Discord, yeah wedged it in the corner. Magnet button with shoddy tape like attachment (due to story budget constraints) would paint a better picture. But that's the only downside of the game.

yea I agree the game could use some tweaks. But since it was just a game jam after all, I'm not to sad about it.

Incredible. The controls are super tight, the idea is great. Well worth a play. Very well done.

One of the most fun Games I've played during the Jam so far, its well designed and feels pretty polished. Personally I don't like how the resolutions and style of the art varies, but other commenters seem to disagree, so take that with a grain of salt!

Nice game ! Really like the art style and the concept !

i was really impressed by this one! the presentation is really good, i love the submarine's art. and the music is nice too!

this game's take on the (...very popular) chain mechanic has some cool twists. i like how coins increase its length, it's almost kinda like a metroidvania in how you unlock new areas. it's also handy for backtracking and finding your way back from a long tunnel maze. AND it's relevant to the story of the game! cool stuff

i think the game gets pretty tedious at parts though, like when you have to keep going back and forth to collect coins or get boxes (or unwind your chain). if this game were expanded on, i'd try putting more obstacles in the way, and giving the player more options to traverse quickly. also, the box pull could have a dedicated button, instead of having to stand still for a long time

the other thing i really liked was the inclusion of things like dialogue and hidden trophies - pretty in-depth for a jam game! had a very good time with this as a proof-of-concept, and would like to see this take on the chain explored in a faster-paced title!

This is great, the art and especially the sub is fantastic.
