Great little game, just wish there was more!

Clever stuff! I've a real soft spot for the PICO-8 aesthetic. The idea of swapping out rooms like this feels like it has tonnes of untapped potential - I hope you'll continue with this!

S+ :D

That was pretty fun, and an amazingly clever concept. Be good to see it explored more :D

Cute idea and I definitely see the potential for a lot of secrets to be hidden this way! The game felt very short though so hopefully you make more levels / content after the jam :)

Awesome game, left me wanting more levels!

Really liked this game. Very polished. Good job.

Really fun game with an interesting mechanic! I don't know if I bugged the game out or you are supposed to go out of the map's bounds to get a coin :P Only issue I have with it is that the wall jump is a bit strange, maybe making the character stick to the wall for a bit would make it feel better.

Super polished visuals. The more I play PICO-8 games like this, the more I want to make one myself. Hopefully, it won't be too hard. the one thing that I think could be better is the difficulty. I think it was a bit too hard, too early. Other than that, great entry!

Thanks for the feedback! Btw, I totally recommend giving PICO-8 a go. It's well worth the money. It's quick to get going, and the restrictions make it an excellent choice for game jams (limits scope creep). If you want to see if it's something for you without buying it first, the roguelike and breakout playlists from YouTube's Lazy Dev are an excellent and easy to follow introduction.

Thank you so much! I'll try it out for sure, will try to make a SNAKE clone with a twist. Much love Michael :)

Really nice Metroidvania concept. This could totally be expanded into a full game! No idea how to get to the top of the green room though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'll give you a hint: To get to the top of the green room, you need to use the new ability somewhere else in level.

ahhh i see, a little bit super mario bros :)

Always fun with a Pico8 game. Looks good! Nice little puzzle platformer!

Cool platformer, I can see the concept getting expanded upon! Cute presentation and from what I’ve seen that you are a one man team, the result is awesome, you can be proud! I personally had a bit of trouble with the wall jump and I wasn’t able to get the top coin in the green room, but apart a bit of physics tweaking I’ve got nothing to complain about. Good work!

Developer

Thanks Seraphii! Getting the last coin is tricky indeed. It can only be done by wall jumping up and out of the blue level. Thanks for the kind comments!

Very cool concept! With some polish and streamlining, I could totally see this as a longer game!

Developer

Thanks Caletun! Yes time was definitely a limiting factor content-wise and polishing. This one might be worth it to put some more time into indeed.

I found it pretty difficult to use the wall jump, but the game looks lovely and is quite fun! Good job :D

I liked the minimalistic and sweet style of the game. The character is too fast. and should have been more related to the theme. You have accomplished a lot in 48 hours for just one person, moreover, pico 8 has too many limitations...

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Stinger! For this game,  I choose not to relate the theme to the character ( I think most people went that route ), but make it relate to parts of the level instead. And yes, hehehe, PICO-8 has a lot of limitations. Worst is probably the code editor screen size, but it does a good job at forcing you to keep the scope of the game small.

Interesting take on the theme, and solid execution. Well done!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game.

1, The character moves too fast.

2, The wall jump is clunky.

3, If you get the wall jump. You can switch the blue rooms and cause the beginning room to appear, then you can wall jump out from the hole you fell from and go out of bounds.

Besides these. I think this game can be expanded Into a full metroidvania some day.

Also, I would be very happy if you would play my game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Nature! The controls can definitely use some more love, but escaping the level through the first room is intentional :).

The idea is great and the game itself is! WEll done!

Submitted(+1)

A HARD one for sure but a fun one. Good music and art. Love the idea of being able to cycle the rooms!

Submitted(+2)

Successfully broke the mold, i'd say! Well done!
