I loved the weight of impact when punching the robots!  Platforming was nice, jump felt like it had a bit more weight to it than I prefer (but that's just an opinion and makes sense given the character is a robot).  Great juice.   I almost soft locked getting caught between a platform and 2 crates on my first run through.   Overall, really nice polish and a fun experience!

Cool intro into the game. Nice pixel graphics and good backgroundmusic and sfx. Solid platformer, congrats, good job!

Nice movement and combat. Simple jet really nice pixel art.

Really fun platformer. The character movement feels super nice which is harder than it seems to get right. Combat was simple but good- I like the addition of parrying enemy attacks but it was a little hard to pull off or if I was doing it correctly I had a hard time telling. Overall it was a really great game!

Nice made game - character controller was smooth and the effects were juicy.

Really solid platformer, I honestly wasn't expecting this to feel great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The jumping and moving around felt really good, and the art style was really charming. Only thing I noticed was that the level transition was a bit jarring, the music just glitches out during it. Still, really cool platformer!

Also, I noticed you're using payday music, but I'm pretty sure they don't allow explicitly using those in video games, and if something is not clearly stated as allowed, then it's not allowed, legally. Just saying that because you might get in legal trouble, stay safe!

Top 10 entry material right there. Well Done!

The juice was nice! But I wish the combat felt a bit more developed. It felt random, more than in my control.

Really cool game, felt quite polished.

Fun entry!

Really cool & polished game.
the visuals a really neat & the controls very tight.

In terms of feedback I mostly agree with what Jrevel pointed out.
I'll just add this point :
some robots dies in 2 hits and some in 4 but there's no way to tell them apart. this can be a bit frustrating & confusing. simple sprite or color change would really help in term of readability so you know what you're up against.

All in all it's a really solid entry. And with some minor adjustements it would really hit the spot perfectly.
Great job :)

Very fun and addictive platformer, you aced it really! The only complain I had was the loading time between deaths, not sure if that's your problem, didn't affect my rating though. Would appreciate if you took a look at my platformer as well!

I instantly recognized that song from payday 2馃槀
The game looks good and it feel fun to play.

Pretty cool game, I found part of the key~ (or so I think...)
I couldn't finish it, cause boss fight lagged so much (weak internet and computer at school xd)
I agree with JRevel on all of the points, from what I could add to that - jumping on swings could add some momentum, and speedrunning that part was a bit hard...
Overall good job :3

The juice is there ! I know it's really hard to make melee combat fun, but I think you did a pretty good job ! But some things made the game a bit frustrating to play for me. I'll list the things that come to mind that could be improved, in no specific order :
- I almost quit right at the first screen, because the cutscene (which is pretty cool btw) was played every time I died and wasn't skippable, which made the process of learning how to fight the robots really tedious

- I found the robots a bit too strong at the beginning, maybe because the level design puts them at their advantage. I don't think I could have beat the game without the tips during loading screens, which give insight on their behaviour that is not obvious at all and could have been conveyed better ingame (show a battery indicator on the enemy maybe, that reduces every time the enemy shoots, and depletes at the third shot ?). I found them way easier to beat (and a bit too dumb maybe) during the boss fight

- Spawning lots of robots during the boss fight was not the fun part, it was way funnier to dodge lasers. And the boxes were a bit annoying there, because the physics was a bit wacky

- The platforming physics is pretty tight, it's really fun to jump around, but the level design was a bit too linear to make it really shine

- The intro and outro texts was way too long, you can be sure 90% of players won't read it, which is too bad, because it is where the link to the theme is explained...

I highlighted mostly things to improve, but that's overall a pretty solid entry, I just like to give tips on how to make things more fun. Well done :)

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! A few points I want to make:

  • The battery indicator is a great idea, in the beginning I was against putting the alert indicator but then found out it was actually really useful.
  • The spawned enemies in the boss fight are high quantity, low quality and only have 2 hp, while the rest of the level has 4.
  • There really should have been a better tutorial, separate from the cutscene

Very juicy game, well done!

A good menu would make the game more catchy.

I wasn't a huge fan of the boxes and the robots, but the story segment in the beginning was really fun.

Congrats on a very juicy game.

Really nice game, the loading screens arent really that necessary but it isnt a huge issue. I like the art and the story. Controls also feel nice. Solid game!

Is there a way to skip the intro cutscene on the second time around? I want to play more of this, but the intro sequence has a lot of text to skip each time :O
