Really really great soundtrack, really nice beat game and it really feels good and is atmospheric. The map was a bit confusing at first, but I did find the big bad... and got splatted :D   Great job!

Thanks for the feedback :D

Music's awesome! The timing on battles is a bit tight, it's pretty easy to miss notes (or I just suck). Presentation looks and sounds great. Solid game, congrats!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! If you played on web I find that sometimes the timing can be off due to it being a bit laggier/less precise.

Truly unique and amazing game! I would love to play this as fully fleshed out game!

The overworld move speed is a bit slow for me, and some battles have too long of a wait time till the inputs start flowing.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :D really appreciate. I’ll definitely up the overworld speed next time. I wasn’t sure if the wait time before the inputs was good or not, so thanks for letting me know. Was worried that it would be overwhelming if things started too soon lol.

If your planning to continue developing this, maybe you could have a 3, 2, 1, GO countdown before a battle, that the player could skip by pressing a button. That way if it's a new enemy the player can get accustomed to the BPM, and if it's only for grinding, they can skip it!

Really interesting idea. I liked how the enemies had their own songs. Super unique. I found Kyrak too soon and he killed me before I even had a chance to play. That part didn't feel the best since I spent so much time walking to that part of the game. I didn't know which direction I should have gone and went to a zone that was too strong for me.

The transition between the roaming mode and battle mode looked awesome and I liked the art overall. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback! Sorry about the lack of direction. In case it wasn’t clear, you can block attacks by hitting A/B (Z/X) at the right time (the same way you attack), but it might still be hard to beat Ky’rak right away since the jump in difficulty is a bit steep.

Loved the sense of exploration in this one, I even made it to the boss (I think?)! Great music and great feeling overall!

Fun rhythm game! I love the music and the graphics.

Wow! The music was incredible, the graphics on point, the atmosphere was fantastic!

I was a little confused about how the game worked though. Still a bit confused, tbh. Because the A/B button track was over the enemy, I assumed that it belonged to the enemy (Like a friday night funkin duel situation), and so on my first playthrough I made it all the way to the boss and then was horribly confused when I suddenly lost before I even had a chance to play, since I thought they were all HIS inputs.

Luckily I figured it out after that though and made it through to the end.

The only other sticking point is how slow the character moves through the overworld, especially when there's so little to do there other than run into slimes!

Overall really cool game though, hope to see (and hear) more from you!

Thanks for playing :D Your feedback is really helpful, esp. about the controls and overworld so ty for that as well. Since A/B are used to block, maybe I should have placed that column over a shield or something held by the player instead.

the overworld was a little slow, but the battles were really fun!(even if it took me a bit to realize that i needed to respond to the inputs on the enemy’s side)

Developer

thanks for the feedback! wasn’t sure if the overworld was a bit slow/boring, didn’t end up having time to add much to it

I didn't expect to see a musical game, it caught me by surprise! It's a good game, as an addition I would try to add some more feedback when pressing the buttons, but otherwise impeccable.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Good point about more feedback when pressing buttons, I think more audio/visual cues would be helpful.

Boy am I bad at rythm games but this was fun! It's fun and I enjoyed playing!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed playing it, thanks :D

Whoa I really didn't expect to find a rythm game here. Since this was one of my favorites in the jam I will leave a ton of feedback xD. Really like the color palette pick, tiles are solid and I LOVE the battle background. Rythm is alright, gives good visual feedback, and the twist of having two separate bars to put attention to is amazing, really fun! Only thing I found a bit lackluster is the sprite art department but this game has a lot of potential!

Developer

Thanks for all the feedback :D Sprites are definitely my weak point, I’ll have to put some extra practice into getting better at that so thanks for pointing it out!

I like the atmosphere and the idea of the battle system.  The game felt kind of hard when you had to do both arrows and AB keys, but also I think that it would have been too easy if it was just arrow keys.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It was hard to balance the difficulty, I think because the game is too short to really get used to the mechanics. I tried to just compensate for the difficulty by making the HP pretty forgiving lol.
