It's not easy to make something 3d look and feel like it's a gameboy game, but, wow, this does a really excellent job. The game is great too, with a nice mix of dodging and shooting and the heavy controls give it a good feeling of weight <3

Developer

Thanks! Standing on the shoulders of giants for the gameplay. I've long been interested in 8-bit 3D so it was very cathartic to make.

loved it!

Thanks!

One of my favourites of the jam. It just needs a barrel roll!

Developer

Thanks! I asked Falco and gave me the look so it remains on the cutting room floor!

You can toggle inverted controls by pressing "i" on the keyboard.

Omg this filled me with nostalgia, I loved it. Really impressive game. Shots occasionally looked like they hit but then missed (particularly vs the asteroids?) but it wasn’t a big issue, and tbh I’m just kind of bad at aiming. Loved it overall.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Aiming and moving at the same time is one of those things eh... its a bit easier on an analogue joystick.

Was kinda iffy on the gameplay at first, but it definitely grew on me. Loved the music and it felt like there was a nice variety of stuff going on, really *stellar* entry B)

I did feel like the shooting enemies were more trouble than they were worth and I'd usually just avoid them altogether. Maybe have them always drop rewards?

Developer

thanks!

I wanted to add more variety to the enemies, like ones that fly in and ones that appear from nowhere in longer enemy only areas. In the end, Time was the only enemy I faced! :)

Really good gameplay, music fits and it's an amazing achievement to pull this with GB limitations, congrats!

Developer

Thanks! The lengths we go to to make a PC infinitely more powerful than a GB recreate its visuals ><

ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh I LOVE this one

The gameplay does drag a bit since it's just randomize setpieces, but the aesthetic tickles my brain in the best possible ways. Sure, it's more akin to a SNES SuperFX game than something like X on the Gameboy, but I still love it.

Developer

Glad it tickled your brain! putting the superFX logo on my cover image may have been a step too far ;) thanks for playing

The music is really good and the controls are very responsive, it feels good to play.

Developer

Thanks! I'll pass this on to the audio guy

Everything about this game is perfect. It's like a cross of Starblade, Starfox, and sound effects from Final Fantasy

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Those are my inspirations for sure, classic games.

I love this game, heavy star fox vibes, everything is well done, the gameplay, music, and the graphics are just beautiful.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

This is awesome!
It really feels like SNES Star Fox asteroid belt. It plays very smoothly, the analog stick support was great, makes aiming very precise. Excellent work!!!

Developer

Thanks for playing with a controller! I loved those sections in Star Fox, tried recreate bits I found interesting in the time I had.
