Baldi's Basics for the Gameboy!

I found this game completely by accident browsing through this live playlist. I really love it!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I was very close to remove the purple/blue palette, but decided to keep it in. I wanted to desaturate it a bit and turn it even more purple, but kept it as it is :(

I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but I'm unable to get past the first screen

I like the idea, but is the game tied to the framerate? For me it runs way too fast :(

Very nice game, I especially liked destroying the boxes. Maybe add some loot to them in the future? ;) Also wish there were checkpoints and some background music added in. But other than that the game is fun to play!

Really lovely game! Everything works smoothly and without issues. The pair mechanic is fun to mess around with, and the fight music is engaging. I also really like the color palettes changing between the zones.

How does this game not have more ratings??? For me this is absolutely the best entry, bar none! The amount of content is just incredible for something made in a week, and even the settings menu has so many options to change! The gameplay is smooth and engaging, the soundtrack is very nice, I can absolutely see a game like this running on the Gameboy. 11/10 entry for me!

Nevermind, Windowblinds was messing with the game window. It works after disabling it!

Weird, the game doesn't seem to work for me. I can hear the soundtrack and some feedback when I press keys, but the window is just showing solid white :(

Nice turn-based combat! I managed to destroy the enemy city in the 2nd try :)

I understand the game is made with Vulkan. Did you make the entire engine from scratch??

The gameplay is very good and the graphics are so very cute! My absolute favourite parts about the game are the soundtrack and the lighting effects. Really would like to see if this is updated in the future!

Amazing in every sense of the word. The graphics, the soundtrack, the game mechanics, all are really good. I love the variety in the colorschemes too.

Can't believe this doesn't have more ratings! It's basically like Star Force on the Gameboy. Really nice entry!

Unfair Mario on the Gameboy, nice. Almost like an "Unfair Mario Land" ;)

Super cute graphics, the music is nice even though it's not Gameboy-like at all. I like the dialogue sounds, they are silly.

The mode 7-looking graphics when you fly the ship are amazing. The spritework is amazing and especially the elf lady is super cute. Really nice turn-based game!

Really nice graphics. The only thing I would change in the gameplay loop is to be able to move the ship more "dynamically", like the pillars do. The music is great!

Really nice game! I love how unlike the usual puzzle game like this, you can actually still change stuff as the trains are moving. The collision sound is so intense too, haha.

Cute hedgehog, though I can't stop thinking it's a bird. I love the physics a lot! Only wish it came with some chiptuney music in the background :( Otherwise the game is amazing!

Wacky driving, indeed! I love the art direction and the sounds. Only wish the tracks were a bit longer :(

Just as a quick recommendation, before uploading the game, make sure you test it on another PC which doesn't have the dev libraries installed. It's a good way to know which .dll files are missing. Tried and tested!

The "classic" mode feels like a Commodore 64 game, nice. Rex looks pretty darn creepy too!

Quite difficult, but I like it. It's like a sort-of not-really Hotline Miami demake for the Atari 2600 :D

The bird is so cute, I want to pet it! The game is really good, like a more relaxed Kirby. I love the variety of color palettes, number 11 is my favourite.

A GameGear ROM for a Gameboy jam. Totally unexpected! Very simple, but the idea of mixing snake and simon says is decent.

I'm not 100% sure how I managed to beat the other pirates, but the idea is neat. Perhaps also add a chiptune sea shanty if you're planning on expanding the game in the future? ;) Also, the graphics remind me of some flash games I used to play, good memories!

Yes, I felt like I could add more things to the gameplay. It took way too long to get my spaghetti code to generate a playable board and check for gameover, so I didn't have any time to add anything else :(

Very nice shmup! I like the absorb-bullet mechanic, never seen anything like it before. The soundtrack never gets stale, and the sound effects are on point. The part where you have to dodge the walls of electric-looking thingies reminds me of Tyrian and Balloon Fight.

Top notch submission! Like a "toned down" Downwell but also a bit like Shovel Knight. Sprite work is super nice!

Cute graphics and soundtrack, and the colorscheme is so good! But I wasn't able to beat the boss even after jumping on his head about 20 times :(

I liked hunting for extra words to cure the next patient in line. I laughed at the stupid "puns" I made incorrectly, like "it's just the tip of the shiny jetski".

Hard to play, just like a classic GB game. Nails the platformer difficulty aspect! Cute graphics too

Quirky little idea. The graphics are so nice and fitting for a GB game! I got about 50 points.

Fun gameplay, the graphics are cute, especially these blobs. One minor complaint, the life and ammo bar takes up a bit too much space, sometimes I couldn't see enemies coming from above until it was too late :(

Should have added some more messages about how to close the game in the main screen. There is a pause menu if you press Enter, from there you can save and exit the game! The color palette changes, I wanted to give the game a bit more of a Gameboy Color vibe than anything, even the music was heavily inspired by Tetris-DX on the GBC ;)

Special blocks are definitely in the cards if I'm going to continue working on the game! Maybe even make a "separate" version where each gem has its own color, with a more GBC aesthetic.

This game is amazing! The color palette is really lovely, the soundtrack is relaxing, and the gameplay reminds me way too much of "bit dungeon 2".

I remember playing these flash games where you had a bike/quad and had to go over obstacles. It reminds me so so much of them. Thanks for the good memories :)

Tennis for the NES, but on the Gameboy. Good gameplay throughout, even though I lost to the CPU. Nice music too!
