this game made me realize I had no sense of rhythm, maybe make the controls less punishing for noobs like myself?

art, music, and gameplay were all gorgeous and polished

Wow, looks and sounds amazing!  Definitely a Gameboy feel to it. No idea how you made a game look this great in such a short amount of time, great work!

Only issue I had is I couldn't figure out what to do, I want to play it so bad but for some reason the game play didn't stick.  Maybe if you continue with this add a tutorial that allows me to retry things and not have to start over.

Also, please add Gamepad support if you do more work on this, I'd love to play it with a gamepad as I am not so great with playing games with keyboard/mouse.  Maybe that would help me be able to play.  LOL  That and in Godot it is SUPER easy to add gamepad support.  Also kudos on doing it in Godot, I'm just now learning it and enjoying it so far.

Thanks for your kind comments. Combat system is a bit confusing and I should definitely add more explanation to it :). Its a bit like crypt of the necrodancer.

Looks great, brilliantly polished but I just can't really do much in this game. Just kept dying all the time.

This game is absolutely great, It's very complete for a 10 day build and the art is spetacular!!! Congratulations on the great work!!!

I really like the graphics and the sound desing is great.

really cool game!

Great little game, certainly a fun concept! At first it took some getting used to the feeling of the controls and their timing with the rhythm, but the sliding drum rhythm of the music helped with that.

AWESOME!!! Such incredible work for such a short amount of time. The passion and hard work is very apparent, and I would love to this become a bigger game in the future!

Really awesome game. Great story and beautiful art. It was so good that I just had to complete it

The pixelart is awesome and the game is pretty challenging! Really love the idea of a rythm based movement system like Crypt of the NecroDancer! Music also works great with the game and all in all it’s a pretty fun game!

The controls in the game are not very comfortable, but otherwise it is very well done

Neat visuals, definitely reminds of Gameboy!

It would be great if movement in non-combat scenarios was snappier and faster. The idea is great, took a bit to get used to. Beautiful presentation, very nice soundtrack.

Excellent work, congrats!!!

Wow you absolutely crushed it with the visuals. Impressive work. I would totally play this again!

I'm sorry but this game is really buggy! it happens in the battle. i cant kill the last enemy, my attack wont work. and somehow invisible walls appear in the field in battle. i have restarted 2 times and every time this happens in another battle.

the graphics and the music is great but i'm not really a fan of the game play.

i wish i could play it to the end. but i've already spent too much time restarting the game.

Best wishes, and hope you fix the bug later after the jam

Developer

Thanks for your feedbacks! I'm really sorry you had this bad experience.
I changed the combat system a bit late in the jam and had not the time to fix all the bugs. Now that people mentioned it I should have definitely added a restart button to ensure a better experience.

I think my scope was too big :) Next time i'll make sure to have enough time to properly playtest and bugfix!

Blown away by the sheer amount of content here, considering the attention to detail!

Besides a few bugs and exploit's here and there. This was great!
For instance, boss can be easily defeated by going to the shiny door at the top of the level where he can't jump on you and then you have more than plenty of hp to just spam attack and win!

The level of polish for a jam is insane - well done guys! Great gameplay, sound, art and setting. Loved playing this - showed me a lot of things I could have done better for my own game.

I like the visuals and audio. Its higher quality then I expect for a jam. But I had to restart 2 times because of bugs.

At first one, an enemy stuck inside me and follow me everywhere. When I move on single directin I managed to make same distance. But when I hit, it takes no damage. Enemy cant deal damage too but anmiation plays.

In second one, after killing the boss I entered the bottom-right door which leads to complete darkness(brown you used in game). There wasnt even character and nothing works so I had to restart again.

Also, not game breaking, but Jack can give infinite money.

(I understand that its hard to properly debug a complex game like this during game jam, but at least having a way of loading last checkpoint would be nice. Like holding down select.)

Developer

Thanks a lot for your comment and for playing up to the boss.
You are totally right I should have made a restart buttons.

I'm terrible at Necrodancer.
But, this game has some real soul, the music's quite nice and the graphics are real clean.

Goodluck with the jam, I'm sure you'll do great.
