Really well done! The presentation is great. The fights are simple enough to grasp quickly but the quick time events keep you from zoning out. And just when I was getting complacent, the mantis boss was a wake up call. (Fleas combined with rhino beetles are cruel, however!)
The world/table is pretty enough, but it wasn't always clear what could and couldn't be traversed. When I got to the castle-like structure I didn't know where the entrance was. I walked all along the perimeter and accidentally got soft locked when a battle started and my character was obscured. I couldn't select attacks and wouldn't have been able to time defenses.
I would also say that the random encounters are a bit too frequent, given that there's no reward for them (other than survival.) I died once shortly before the rest spot in front of the castle and had to trek all the way back over the waterfall, which was very draining. And then the above happened and I don't think I have it in me to start all the way over from the beginning again. Despite that it was a great experience overall!
I forgot to talk about the sound effects! They worked perfectly to encapsulate what they were used for. For instance, successfully blocking an attack quickly becomes synonymous with the sound accompanying it, and likewise for landing a critical hit. I don't think I can explain it properly, but it has a strong positive reinforcement effect on me. Without looking at anything, I can tell whether a fight is going well or not just by the audio.
Oh boy, this game is solid. The sound is great. I do like the music but it was static at times. Well done.
Thanks so much for playing and helping us spot the bug. I think our audio woes are mostly behind us now!
Oh man, this game kept me so invested! I loved how the bosses were designed, but I didn’t like how enemies kept spawning every few seconds — it felt a bit annoying. Overall, it was a really fun game. Great job!
I guess the encounter rate was unintended and it should be back to an acceptable level. Way to go playing on Honor mode though! Thanks for the kind words and feedback!
nice visuals congrats.
It matches the theme so well! I'm not that much of a fan of random encounters, so, one thing i missed was the option to escape from some fights. Buuut, I totally understand why there isn't one.
The QTE in the fights were a nice addition! Helps to keep the turn-based combat engaging.
You guys did a very good job on character design, too.
Awesome game, great visuals and combat, the music was a bit jarring otherwise this is excellent.
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback. I think we have the music issues solved in the most recent patch. Thanks so much for helping us spot the issue!
Cool battle mechanics with QTE. Visuals are good. There are some problems with audio lagging a little bit and I've been stuck during one of the fights, so I had to restart
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! I think we solved the audio lag today, hopefully it didn't give anyone too bad of an experience!
very good game, my congrats.
Love this idea! My children have asked to save this one so we can try to fight the bugs again later.
The camera movement is on point
Beautiful animation, and I love how immersive the gameplay is. The multiple choice in combat is also cool.
I restarted the game multiple times to watch the cool intro hehe :)
Thank you so much for the kind feedback!
