Great job on this one mate! I love the pirate concept and you executed it flawlessly, very fun!
Really liked how everything just blend together perfectly. Great Job!
Very FUN and UNIQUE idea on this game! AWESOME WORK!!! This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
Would love to see more too after the jam.
Now I get what they were talking about when they mentioned AAAA gameplay! They just weren't talking about the right game!
This is seriously awesome. I enjoyed this one a lot! The ship movement was a lot better than I expected it'd be when I read the controls. Getting used to remembering which direction I was firing from took a minute, but once it started to click I felt like Davey Jones himself.
Awesome job!
I loved the game, everything, music, SFX, mechanics... suits well. Well Done!
Fun! I especially like the sound effects and music.
Not the greatest of scores, maybe a pirate's life is not for me. 🏴☠️
Really nice looking, plays smoothly and it's fun! The fighting area is a bit cramped, since you can't stray too far from your base at any time. Gamepad support is a plus! It would be interesting if there were ways to restore health to the base, if not to your ship, but I suppose that goes against the theme of a last stand a bit.
Well presented and a great concept. I would not make a very good pirate! But I had a lot of fun playing. Nice job!
Jolly good fun. I love your renditions of drunken sailor
This always struck me as a great asset pack for a game jam. Awesome to see it put to good use.
Game is fun to play! The cannon shots are abit weird but its fun overall.
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review!
Yeah, some of the comments really opened my eyes that I'm taking too much velocity from the ship into the cannonballs. So next time I need to work on better feeling physics :-)
Looks, sounds and plays grrreat!
I liked the damage indicators on the sprites of your and the British ships. It's something my game is lacking.
Got to 360 score.
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review!
That's a really good score, I think I was able to get over 400 but I played it a LOT :-D
Ay nice game! Quite the feeling when you speed between two ships and fire on both sides.
The cannon shots sounded weighty and I liked it, the art looks pretty nice as well.
Neat job! :D
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review!
Amazing! I really enjoyed the gameplay! Keep it up!
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review! I intend to join more jams from now on, it was really fun :-)
good art good ship control and awesome music ;)
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review!
Good job, love the art style ! I think I heard the same music for another ship game in the jam which I think is a funny coincidence :)
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review!
Yeah, the Drunken Sailor is quite a classic for sailor themed things and it's available on opengameart.org, so it makes sense :-)
Liked the simple mechanic and how you set everything up, I thought the mechanics and controls were clean and the game was fun to play. Not sure if I missed it but wish there was a way to reverse the ship otherwise it may be possible to get stuck, which might have happened to me immediately so I just tried it again and tried to avoid it. On the other hand, maybe ships have trouble going backwards, so maybe you did that on purpose for it to be more realistic to the setting or something like that. Anyway, I think you did a great job on it!
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving feedback.
Yeah, I agree that's a little bit clumsy. Actually, it's probably possible to always get out of being stuck, you just need a velocity bigger than zero to steer the ship which can be accomplished even when stuck but when you don't know this, it's not very intuitive.
I should have implemented at least a very slow backward movement. Well, next time :-)
Was good fun :)
Thanks a lot for playing and including my game in your video, that's really cool! :-)
Ahoy matey, I had a great time on the ship! Loved that you added controller functionality :)
Thanks a lot matey! I love when small games support controllers as well and it's now really easy to add it to Unity with the new InputSystem.
Very cool and pretty, I also really liked the way the ship moves - so smoothly as with a little big of drag like in water :)
Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a nice review.
Honestly, I kinda copied 2D car and tank controllers, adjusted them a little bit and it worked! :-D
