Just my tired self

Did you use any existing assets? If so, list them below.
I have used only existing assets - Majority of which were from GameDev.Tv beginner unity course, the game is derivation of one of the games -Ricks Tilevania. I also downloaded one heart icon from @startledpixels on unity asset store and soundtrack came from AudioCreatures at same place

Really creative re-imagining of the Tilevania project from the Unity courses!

It gives me this "The Lost Levels" vibe that's really cool, I like how challenging it is!

Submitted

Really frustrating game, but fun in a way :D Nice done, cool idea!

Submitted

The game is annoying in a good way haha. Good job :)

Very unique game! It's so frustrating that things disappear every time you jump, but you did write in the description that the game is meant to make you mad, so mission accomplished! I love the concept, your interpretation of the theme, and the lore that Rick done goofed. Very fun. :)

Very nice trade-off with space jumping. I only have i a problem that the layer didnt always change when i press space/jump. Or was that on purpose? :) very nice game of course, dont get me wrong :)

Developer

Well they do, just...sometimes you dont see all of the layers, so if your screen sees just platforms and pikes, it may switch between ladders and bounces-which you dont see the change since...well, you dont see those two...

Aaaa. well anyway. Nicely done job :) I like it

Developer(+1)

Yea, i have tried to make it so there is at least one element of each on screen most of the time (hence the starting level upper layer composition, where it all repeats, to help you understand whats going on), but its not always logical and i didnt have whole lot of time anyway

would try out my game and rate it according.

I don't know if I break your game or if it's a part of the design, when I jump on the platform they tend to disappear which made it to be hard to jump on the next one so I kept dying otherwise great game D.

Developer(+1)

Yes, thats pretty much the core concept of the game - you are always able to see only one layer at a time- either platforms, spikes, ladders or bouncing

ooh that's unique and an interesting challenge, good work on that.

You made an interesting platformer. It was a little hard in places, but overall it was cool.

Submitted

Frustratingly fun! Well done.

Really nice change to the basic platformer game in the tutorial. Great job despite the lack of free time to do this.

I liked the idea of the map changing every time you jump (seeing one layer at a time! It was well hard and very well made to work. Although not sure if sometimes when I jumped it didn't change the dimension/layer.

I read your description as well and completely understand you mate, I got a little bit over 1.5y old and my team member has a 1y old, so it can be very hard to find time!

Great work for what you had time to do! :) The idea itself especially is great, polishing that could actually be made into a proper platformer that I bet would be a hit!

Not an easy game but a good idea! It looks like we were in the same section of the course when we entered the jam =)

Submitted

Really interesting idea! I've never thought about activating and deactivating whole game layers before. My gaming skills are no match for it so I didn't get very far but it seemed very sound mechanically.

Good job!

I would've never thought of this idea - it's super clever. Great job!

I have no words for this :D Really interesting concept though.

Great use of the theme and the platforming was implemented well. A little hard to grasp at first but it made sense once I hopped around a bunch.

Submitted

Cool idea, someone put one course in good use ;)

Really Cool concept although very confusing at first. The gameplay is very fun but once you figure out that you could just spam jump to get your preferred dimension, the game gets easy, so a little change to prevent players from exploiting this mechanic would be nice. Also, I got to other levels and when i die, the game restarted from the start; it would have been nice to have continued from the other level itself :(. Other than these, great job!

Submitted

Pretty cool concept!! I was a bit confused at first, thought the spikes were gone for good.

Submitted

Uff! This is hard! I failed so much. Good that the respawn is instant. :D But a very nice and new idea and a good execution.  There is much potential so extend on. Keep it up!
