Fun shooting game you had there.  Simple yet fun. I do see why it was a good idea to have the spaceship not move to give it the challenge. This was great and maybe try one with moving but many ships.  Also fun fact, the game idea you did here, same thing was used in sonic frontiers.  Just saying as a fun fact :)

A really nice shooter! I would prefer a single "toggle" to change from light to dark, like the right click for example or even a single key. I never could keep track hitting Q or E to what I am and what I need. I kept hitting any just to change (and of course was the wrong one, then looked at the ship to make sure it changed, and by that time I needed to change again).

I remember this from the Discord and I'm glad I found it before the end of the jam. Your particle effects are wonderful. For some reason my controllers wouldn't work but that may just be me. Congrats on your submission!

Very enjoyable game, actually reminds me of the first game I ever made (was back in 2006 using C++ builder). When I first looked at the kb/m controls it looked a bit strange, but once you started playing it's actually quite intuitive and feels natural, good design on that. Well done!!

I love the scrolling star background, and the game was genuinely fun. I wished there was more when I beat the level!

Enjoyed it! The idea is great and the game feels very polished, all assets works together coherently. Well done!

Nice game! Really polished gameplay! My brain works opposite than yours though, I keep thinking that I should use the same color of the ship to destroy them, instead than the opposite XD

Very good, loved this game!

Nicely done! Really liked the gameplay and atmosphere. Wish there was more content to play through. But well done in the 10 days to create this!

Final score 16200!

This was great! Very smooth controls with a gamepad, easy to switch between modes as quickly as needed. .. but I never wanted to switch modes, the dark beam is wayyyy cooler! And also easier to hit enemies with!

There's one part toward the end where things get very hectic, other than that I didn't get hit a single time. Good for an intro level, if you added more the difficulty would probably need to be increased. (Most games in this jam where I comment about difficulty it's because I've found them too hard, so I don't actually mind feeling good at a game for once!) :D

Oh, edited to add that a full screen option would be a nice addition!

This is grand, "bit" more content and its very much sellable!

Developer

Thanks for playing! And thanks for your feedback!

Honestly as a fellow space shooter developer hfahha this is a pretty good game. Honestly a little lacking in content, something like powerups, but the base idea is there and its pretty fun, it looks really good, the music is pretty cool. Too bad there are no settings because its really loud etc (and imo it would be better if you changed with just 1 button, not 2, but maybe thats a design choice, its not too bad regardless)

Thanks for playing, and specially, thanks for your feedback! I agree with your comments and it's definitely something I'll have in mind for this, and future projects.

This might be the most fun I've had yet trying entries :D I felt sad when the level ended and I wished it lasted longer. The only thing that's missing is the classic power-ups. Everything else is great, especially on a controller!

Great job on getting the feel right! Good particle effects, good sound. Feels really polished

Would have appreciated WASD controls as an option

Great job! I saw your dev log video in discord, but when I really playing it, it's better than the dev log, good concept of switching between light and dark.
