Very creative idea!  Nice art style as well.

This was fun! Though I think I found a bug (and not the insect type); I was able to position myself in such a way that I could constantly eat the same spider and grow into Dire Rat state from the beginning of the tyrant level. I really liked the models/animations in this! Did you use MagicaVoxel or Qubicle or something? Great job! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!

Yes, I used MagicaVoxel! GameDev.tv has a nice, short, free course on it.

At least a few people have found the infinite spider bite, I think it's fine if people want to exploit the game that way. Not everyone has a lot of time to grind with so many submissions in the jam to play through. 😀

LOL this is weird game, I was not prepared for that XD I like it and the idea is good but It was creepy to eat them alive :O

Interesting voxel graphics with the rats and other characters. Lot's of spiders in there! :)

When you die/respawn you're a baby rat again and might get thrown into the last room you were in when you died. This can make it quite difficult to aqcuire enough food to grow again...

I barely managed to finish off one spider and when nibbling at it the spider respawned again next to me and I died quickly again...

With the camera perspective as it is, it can be really dangerous to move down (or "to the front") because you can't really see if there's any enemy right in your path...

I loaded the game into Unity and found that it's actually quite a big dungeon to explore...

pretty fun and nice game, loved the mechanics.

Nice game! I kinda wish I was able to move the camera around, but wasn't really necessary. The controls seemed to lag a bit, also, so I died quite a bit. I liked the transformations and ability to eat to regain health. Good job!

Nice job!

Nice game, art and character design. I love how you can be a bigger rat by eating the corpses. Feel free to check out my game

That was fun! Sad that I only had one life... I wanted to be a spider too :D The two capsules were hard... You could make this game into a real one, with some tweas, bigger levels and balancing.

Please, if you have the time, can you rate my game too?

Fun game! it's satisfying to see how the character keeps growing xD I ran into a bug in the web version where the screen went red, but i downloaded the game and it worked perfectly. good job! :)

that was fun! the aiming was a bit tricky but the style and concept was enjoyable. good job

This is pretty fun. Farmed a spider for great success. The screen turned red when I was fighting the large pills and stayed that way through to the end, and I'm not really sure what those guys were. Good work on the tutorial and great work on your game!

Really good introduction to mechanics. Also overall style is really great

Good game. I liked the growth system. Great job.

I liked the growth mechanic on the Rat. It was fun to grow like that game me some throw back vibes to "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" I did have a bit of trouble aiming my attacks and understanding where they were landing. It is a solid entry for the Game Jam. Good Job!

Nice game, I really like the idea! However, enemies respawning after being eaten kind of ruined the immersion for me. Also, controls for keyboards are a little clunky, sometimes it was hard to find the right angle to eat the corpses. Good game overall, congratulations! :)

Great art style and really fun mechanics! Love the progression system. Really well done submission!

Love the art style, really fun game

The combat was pretty simple, wish there was one more action like block or some skill as the combat is just standing and attacking. But overall, fun game and nice voxel art.

nice, I enjoyed it. it is only slightly difficult to fight
