I just had a really good time playing this game! The shot mechanic is cool and fast to learn. There are some "strategies" that can make the game easy, one of them being the amount of time you have to maneuver the projectile. I literally was able to clean rooms before going in... but that's a balancing issue that can be polished! The humor is well, BRO... BRO... YEAH! BRO! lol
Great work!
Yeah, I saw that as an issue when I let my brother play the game, but I found it funny and made it into a "feature", especially clearing rooms before entering lol. And glad to hear that you enjoyed the game :D.
It was a fun game. I enjoyed the visuals and the audio! I sometimes found that when I shot a projectile, it would immediately despawn, because it collided with the wall in front of me. It made the projectile feel a little weird and clunky.
I also found that when I finished the game, the game did not return to the start menu. There was no way to advance from the "Thanks for playing" screen back to the main menu.
But overall, I really enjoyed it!
Yeah, the camera shake when you shoot to a wall while standing directly in front of it is kind of nauseating, but I wasn't sure on how to fix it.
There's no way to advance from the "Thanks for playing" screen because there's nothing to advance to. The game was kind of a one time experience, so there wasn't a point in returning to the main menu.
But I'm glad to know that you enjoyed the game.
That was a good few minutes of fun! It's a good balance between challenge and fairness and the quirkiness adds a nice touch. Well done!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the game.
I love the graphics and sounds, they are beautiful and create great mood! I feel that maybe mouse click would be better for attack instead of Enter/Z
Ahahaha, I just made all the sfx and shaders for the orbs, but the music and the tile-set were done by other people(you can check them in the game page). I tried to keep the controls similar to a metroidvania game cause Cave Story was one of my inspirations.
Hilarious game, and it plays very well. Really a fan of the shooting mechanic, it's a bit hard at first, but after a while it definitely gets easier to use :-)
Very well done game, good job! :-)
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the game :).
I coudn't pass the second room, but well done!
The boss's attack pattern is pretty easy, and if you find it, the trick to kill him is pretty simple(psst.. spoilers... spam fire is the way to go). But glad to know that you enjoyed the game.
I really like this one :) Great humour, great gameplay, and a lot of love went into it too I can tell. Good job man! It might be a small thing but I don't like shooting with Z haha (or Enter!), maybe a mouse button :)
I tried to keep the controls like in metroidvania games so it'll seem familiar to people.. Thanks for the feedback, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.
Really cool game! First thing that stuck out to me was Cave Story music! I loved Cave Story! The dialogue and humor was really awesome too! Definitely had a good laugh at the "two pixels to the left" and "no ceiling" jokes. I'm very impressed with the cutscenes and story you were able to tell in a 30 day game jam! Really cool! The pixel art is really nice as well. I thought the enemies were a little tough at first, but once I figured out that you can spam and maneuver the orb ability I think the game might have been a little too easy. In that last boss fight, I was able to cover behind one of the pillars and spam my orb to kill him slowly. However, I do think the attack mechanic is very interesting and does have potential! But maybe the player can have another main attack that's less powerful, or maybe if the orb couldn't move in other directions or couldn't be spammed as frequently it wouldn't be too powerful. Really awesome game though! I can see a lot of potential in the game's humor if you decided to make it a full game! Bob is a cool dude!

hahaha you're the second person to suggest a second more weaker attack when they tried my game. But thanks for the feedback, and glad to you enjoyed the game.
The visuals and audio are great. However it's really easy to cheese the fights because as soon as you hit someone with your attack, you can just immediately use another attack. My suggestion would be to add a small delay to when you could fire again so you have to worry about where you're standing instead of being able to spam attacks and never worry about getting hit.
Yeah, you're right, the game needs to be more balanced. But thanks for your feedback, and thanks for playing.
Awesome game :) it was funny and even though it was short, I saw myself improving after having to repeat the boss fight 3 times haha great job!
Cheers!
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the game :).
Great art and idea implementation!
Thanks man, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.
Awesome job dude!! I laughed a lot! When you put some poop jokes like that, I`m sold hahahahaahhaha. The "waterball" mechanic is great, the only problem is the length of the game, too short :(
Anyway, congratulations!
I hear ya, but I tried not to overshoot cause i'm doing this solo and it's my first game/jam submission. But I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it ;).
awesome game, love the art work!
Glad to see that you enjoyed the game. I just did shaders for the orbs(blue and red) and drawn Bob. The tile-set is not mine. Do check the creator out here -> https://0x72.itch.io/
That's where I got the idea for this game. I just mixed it with Cave Story as well. And glad to see that you enjoyed the game.
Beauty lies in simplicity and this game looks simply bat has so much potential. I really like the combat style and main character. Simply... GREAT :)
Glad to see that you enjoyed the game :).
This game just had so much charm! The music was a bop and I loved this art style so much. The reference humor was a great touch, I couldn't stop smiling. It would be a nice addition if you could press a button to speed up the text instead of just skipping it straight up. Gameplay was pretty cool too, and tho moving right after a
waterballfireball felt a bit weird and got me hit a couple times I had to get used to it. Great job man, definitely one of my favorite entries! Thanks for the feedback, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.
I like how you taught the player to play. The gameplay was really cool. You should keep doing these games. Maybe go on a larger scale!
Ahaha I am thinking of making another game. I participated in this jam to see if I was capable enough to make a game. And I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.
You're really talented if this it's what you wanted to know.
I'm very bad at sticking to one thing and being consistent and usually jump about different projects that interests me at the time, but this jam helped me being consistent and work through one project at a time.
Game very well done, congratulations! I really spent time playing hahaha
Thanks man. Glad to hear you enjoyed the game.
I really love the map, the sprites and text boxes. The story is quirky. The theme is spot on with the timer shot. I need some health pick ups on the final boss though cause I can't beat him :) Also I found a small bug in the gaurded room. I can shoot the enemies before I enter the room and get traped with them. Helped me get past them though. Nice work.
Thanks for your concern but that isn't a bug. I made my brother play test it and he 'cheated' the system. I found that to be too funny so I implemented different dialogues if you take that path. Also, if you defeat the wave of skulls spawned by the boss, it will spawn a health pickup in the middle. Thanks for playing :).
I really loved the humor, you have a tallent for that hahaha! Good job!
I think it'd be easier if you could control the spell with one set of commands and move with other, I died a lot moving towards enemies after trying to hit them hhah. That's just how I felt, maybe it's your game design. :]
Overall very good game idea and humor, one of the best entries for sure!
Ahh, that's a good point but I didn't want to make the controls cluttered and intricate, so I made it simple. Thanks for your feedback and I'm glad to see that you enjoyed the game :).
