Really cool artstyle and gameplay, had a lot of fun!!
I agree with the comments here, maybe you could make him shoot to the direction he's facing.
I'd also make the enemies start moving as soon as they spawn, there's already an animation(which is great!) before they spawn so that the player can prepare. Imo there's no need to make them be idle for that long, makes the game too easy (just an opinion).
Anyway, I loved it. Good job!
Cool idea with cute artstyle and retro feel! I think it would be great to be able to shoot also veritcally not only horizontally.

Yeah, lot of people say that... maybe i will change that.
So nice game with an arcady feel to it. Maybe you could make menu more arcady like" Press Space to insert coin" and instead of showing 3 lives in game show 3 credits.

Nice retro style game! The horizontal-only shooting is a little weird, but that's a fun constraint I guess :) I think the first level might be a little too easy, imo.

Hey, the game is satisfying to play for real! The music and art style are on point and appealing. I didn't really like that I can shoot only horizontally (am I right?), but apart from that, the game, its look and the idea is enjoyable. I might return back later to this game!
Nice game, some levels are pretty hard! I don't understand when the repair tools goes through walls and when not. The visual and the sound match really well. I love the retro style. Good job!

The tool’s movement is quite random. As sometime it’s spawned outside the playable area it was the simplest solution...
I just upgraded my rating on your visuals because of the +3 etc feedback you added, nice job.
I have one frustration with this game, sometimes I die and I'm not sure why.
I assume its because I hit a wall? or maybe a new mob is spawning where I am, I'm not sure but it really annoys me as I want to progress and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I would say the enemy crossed the broken net.
There is another sprite and shake effect.
But true, maybe something more visible should be good.
I liked this game! It is really a retro feeling and the controls "restrictions" are consonant to the style. but I really felt and "in game" explanation about who are you, and what you are doing as stated by some of the colleagues!

I would play this in an arcade. It gives me a felling of old consoles, and Mario! The idea is really awesome. Maybe for the next game you could make it inversed, I mean a futuristic idea. Don't give up!

I enjoyed the game thoroughly! :) Good work, the different enemies made it feel like you are actually progressing and it is getting more difficult. The brain thingy enemy was quite hard!

-I don't know what are we protecting and fixing it's like a PIPE thingy
-the game need like a basic Image at the start telling you the controls
-most importantly the attacking mechanic is so annoying it 2 sided but if it's 4 side attack or like 8 side that would be perfect
I hope u get to rate and see my game since the gamejam timer is broken and no one is fixing it so let's rate our games from now.

also it's so simple that explain controls is a bit overhead.
fire was a decision to make it look more like old 8bit games.
there it was working lot of time exactly like that...
