This was really good. I somehow managed to install the earlier version (maybe because I had this game in a tab for so long?) but the improvements in the update were well recieved. Good work! I love the music, the tutorial was nicely done and gameplay was simple. A few places I got bombarded by little red gremlins but it’s a nice experience

Developer

Thanks :)

The zip files are outdated so you can only install an early version. I'll make sure to build the latest version for OS X and Windows some time in the future.

Developer

I have updated this game. Most changes are from user feedback I received here. Thanks all :)

I wasn't expecting such a spiritual game :)) Nice!
I like the visuals and love the soundtrack- I had some trouble navigating with the mouse, would have preferred arrows, but that could be just me. In some places there were so many enemies though and it was hard to pass through them. Also when I went to the edge of the screen I could see the black outside part of the game.  Overall very nice, almost like a meditation :)

Thanks for your feedback!

I have changed the hitbox so that only the main player head interacts with the environment, and the rest of the tail for aesthetics which will make navigation a bit easier :) This will come in a future build.

Would you suggest anything to replace the black edge?

Submitted

If you are using Unity and Cinemachine, try making the Cinemachine confinement cube smaller. If not, I'd put blocks to the sides so the player sees blocks instead.

This game is super zen.
Excellent tutorial and great gameplay concept! The game looks amazing, and the ethereal music is just out of this world! Very impressive! Did you compose the music yourself?
A little comment on the gameplay: the only thing I didn't like was having hitboxes on the avatar-tail, it felt very unforgiving dying from a tail-hit, because the tail moves around relative to the player rotation. I would prefer only dying when hit on the "main circle", if that makes sense :)

Developer

Thank you!

I did not. The music details can be found in the credits menu.

I'll take that into consideration. I'm planning to compile a list of suggestions at the end of this jam, and update the game then :)

cool :)

Such a simple game.
It took me 8 mins first time and then I noticed there's a walk-through video and it took me 3 mins.
Nice exploration game.
See a lot of potential in this game.
Do rate my game as well.
Thank You.

Omg, I'm actually amazed of how simple and yet interesting the game looks. The art is on point, just another proof that you don't need extremely detailed visuals if your art style is already unique. The music only complements the game. The only suggestion is to change the color of the black circles that return me back to start. It was super hard to see where they are, and when I did — it was too late. Additionally, you might consider adding the blowing animation when the character hits them.

But in general, really good job with a game, so relaxing and satisfying

Developer

Thank you very much :) I'm not an artist nor a graphics designer, so I tried to use light and shaders to make up for it.

By black circles, do you mean the bombs that explode, or the smaller dark-red enemies? I will consider adding a glow to them to try to make it more apparent.

I really liked this game! Every part of it. Didn't think it to be too difficult, the speed changes depending on mouse distance are awesome, maneuvers are smooth to be done and it has an overall chill experience. It's the "simplicity" of it that makes it great!

I agree with some comments on the UI. Replacing the keys with gems icons should be better and maybe only adding them to the UI after collected, because at one moment I thought I had all the keys, but one was still missing in between the other icons. Also known as, I'm blind! lol

Excellent work! Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback :) Perhaps the icons could be outlines at first instead of white.

Submitted

Yes! I thought the same! Something like only the outline or with a certain alpha transparency. Or, if you are going to change the icons to match the gems, than the placeholders could be "blank", with no details, and than the gems would fit and have color + details! In my opinion that also would work well.

Best of luck!

There is some yoga retreat vibe to this game, which I liked. Mainly thanks to the great music and water effects. However, the small red dots are somewhat ruining the retreat feeling. I died over and over when accidentally bumping in to the red dots. The game is just too hard...

Developer

Thank you! The harmful creatures forces you to go slowly.

Sorry if it was frustrating!

Submitted

Really enjoyed the atmosphere you created, had a good time exploring too!

I just think you could make that center clock a safe zone, so that no hazzard would harm you in there. I died instantly after respawning due to that. It felt a little unfair. :/

And I couldnt understand what was with the stars, tryed to collect it a lot hahah.

Lastly I think that when you collect the gems it should be gems stored on the UI or vice-versa. I was trying to find the keys and felt strange when discovered that the gems where the actual keys.

Overall it was very good!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

I will definitely add a safe zone if I update this game.

The tutorial states that the stars were just some harmless floating creatures. I'll update the key icons into gem icons

Music and the atmosphere is relaxing and nice! I didn't like the fact that you "tail" hitting enemies killed you as well, I thought it more as a movement particle, but that does increase the difficulty, but I would try it that only the main ball would be the one that can get hit.

Otherwise a really beautiful game! As someone mentioned before some kind of best time would be a good addition and then randomising the diamonds and creating new levels would make a good mobile game that people would definitely buy.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

I did realise this could be a problem. Originally, this was Six Minutes of Existence, and each body 'bead' corresponds to how many minutes you have left.

When I realised 6 minutes wasn't nearly enough time, I bumped it up to 10 – and with 10 beads, it was quite annoying. So, I set the limit to 6 and each body only starts falling off when you have less than 6 minutes. I never tried only having the head as the hitbox, but maybe I should've, since that would make it much easier navigating through the tight tunnels (especially if an unfortunate bomb spawns there).

Wow, I love the music it is so relaxing and  hypnotic. I could see this being released as a fun hyper casual mobile game. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you! Maybe the difficulty could get tuned down for a casual game.

I really like this game ,

The music adds to the mood and love the water effect .

You should on working on post Jam .

Well done

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!

I learnt the water effect from Brackeys at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg0L9aCRWPE,

but I heavily adapted it.  :)

Love this game.
Would like to see a Best Time feature and maybe randomise the crystal locations.
if that was done I'd seriously consider adding more levels and selling it.
I also want to mention that the Tutorial is superb.
