  • Sizif the game has a great body movement mechanics that's something rare to see! Felt like carrying the world guy, yet after the rock would love to see to deal different variety of challenges!

Very interesting mechanic! It reminds me of QWOP. The vulture keeps stealing my boulder XD

Its an interesting idea. I really liked the design of Sisyphus. I wish there was a way to restart from the beginning without a browser reset. Good game, congrats.

Thank you 😊

Cool game! As someone who majored in philosophy in college, I love seeing Sisyphus happy with a smile lol.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really wanted to make the Sisyphus character a little more fun.

GREAT GAME!! HHHMM 1 MIN 44 SECS BEORE THE DEADLINE , RESPECT!!

Yeah dude

I finished the last important bugs and started uploading the game from a Mac. It turned out that on the website, specifically in Safari, the “download project” button did not work. I had to urgently look for a car with Windows and I had damn little time left, but I managed

thank you!

What a warrior.

Oh i can feel you, Sísyphos. What a type of ragegame you were burdened to play...

The animation and style of Sísyphos is really great!

Developer

hahaha dude

Thanks for your feedback!

I really love the art style and theme. I loved the little text prompt when getting hit by lightning.

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Nice art and animations!

Developer

Thanks for your comment, I tried my best!

The bird keeps taking the rock and I cannot even pick up the vase,

Also a warning box of the lighting would be better for player, tho I doubt the player is fast enough to react.

The art style and animations are sort fluid tho and yeah Sisphyos design is pretty cool.

Having a control that I can pick up the vases would be cool.

Liking the spines animation too

Developer

Thanks for leaving a review!

You can grab vases by dragging them when your hands are close to them

I posted the game with bugs on itch, you can see the edits in the version on gh-pages

The bird! I kept moving this rock, avoiding lightning, holding hands, and keeping balance for no good reason (just as in the old tales). And she stole it! Arghhh....

Cool concept for the game! I did have a hard time with the controls and every time I got the character on steep terrain the boulder would fall behind me. So, I'd have to hit q, but the movements were still labored even without pushing the boulder, so it took a while to get back to where I'd reached.

The pacing for gameplay could use some work... I could see this working really well if the character moved in a rhymical manner or if you had premade push and climb animations ... The timing for each Lighting strike would be predictable sort of like a percussion, but you still wouldn't know where it hits. The bird could fly a little slower so you could have more time to react, and you can even add a health bar on it.

The art style really works for this, and it's still a very inspired take on the theme of power... I think there's a lot you have so far that could make for a pretty good game!

Thank you for playing the game and giving some valuable comments to improve the game. I will make corrections and also come up with new features

Great idea! I think with some tweaking I would enjoy the game more. I saw some people mention a checkpoint system or mechanics that felt more fair. I am also not seeing how this fits the theme of power. I felt pretty powerless playing this. The art style and movement looks great!

Definitely an interesting idea and I think it could really work. Like the previous post, I definitely struggled with a number of the mechanics. I found it really hard to hit the vulture with a vase at all and it seemed to ignore half of the times I hit it. Having to restart at the beginning everytime he grabbed the rock because it would always drop behind me also felt pretty bad. Maybe adding things like checkpoints and having Q return you to the last checkpoint would alleviate this a bit. Otherwise the art style was pretty great so I think this has a lot of promise.

thank you for your feedback, I posted the corrected version on gh-pages and there is already a more recent version of the game with fixes. I will continue to finish the game despite the end of the jam.

Thanks for your submission!

I enjoyed the idea of the game but most of the struggles I met during gameplay were out of my control. I couldn’t do anything to avoid being hit or have the vulture put the rock behind my back, which creates a negative feeling instead of the “ohh I want to try again” feeling we get when we hit a pipe in Flappy bird.

I think there would be a potential here if the challenges were environmental, in the map, like rocks on the floor or stuff in the way that would make the rock Sisyphus behave funny, the player would need to make sure the rock passes instead of randomly being hit by chance.

Developer

thanks for playing the game. There is already a corrected version on the page, link in the comments on the game page.

I will continue making the game even though the game jam is over.

I enjoyed this game! The art was great and I enjoyed the gameplay too. I like the idea of making a game based on the myth of Sisyphus! Solid entry!

Developer(+1)

thank you, I'm glad you liked it

Good concept !  I find it a bit tedious to go back to the very beginning of the map as soon as we pass the rock, which is quite frequent with the lightning. Well done !

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, I will take your wishes into account and make corrections.

This is definitely one of the most creative takes on the theme. Awesome concept. The bird stealing the stone...nah. I never feel like I get a chance to push the rock up the hill.
The fixed version on github has the same issue. Bird is too fast and too often.
I love the holy sh#t and the lightning bolt though.
Great work!

Developer

I continue to fix the problems, thank you very much for your feedback, I will take your wishes into account. Fixed the bird appearing too often and reduced its speed. I also corrected the drawing of a line that warns where lightning will strike, so that there is a greater chance of reaching the end of the mountain. Animation of Sisyphus walking back in development.

I love the concept of the gameplay, humorous too - but you can't go backwards.  That by itself isn't bad, but it's very easy to lose the boulder by accidentally flicking it behind you...  So I have to restart frequently.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, I will take your wishes into account and make corrections. Right now there is a more recent version of the game on gh-pages
