  • Typefighter has a great concept with both singleplayer and multiplayer option. You can compete with your friends who is typing faster and more accurate while each correct typing, you attack your enemy until it dies. Having feedback, some juice when damage is given or taken would feel much better!

Love the unique art style here

This game just make me depressed that I am not a good typer.

The buttons in main menu are scaled up pretty weirdly when pointer is hovered over. Should've scale in the center.

SE like dealing damage would make the game feel better.

I lost at Moderate first time ahhh.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Great game! I feel like playing this made me a better typer. Love the different character classes, but wish it was more somewhat more forgiving when making a typo mistake. Overall great art and music and a fun and charming typing game.

Developer

Thank you! :)

SOLID GAMEPLAY, typing games really hit, like the art as well !

Really loved that hand drawn art style, the music was cool as well. I had an issue with the screen size, it was bigger than my laptop screen and I didn't have a way to change it. That meant I couldn't click certain buttons. I think it would be interesting if the lower difficulties had smaller words. I struggled at the lowest difficulty, but i'm also a very bad speller. So that could just be a skill issue on my part. Good game congrats.

I can't say typing is my type of gameplay, but I do find the graphics very nice and with unique style!

Hell yeah I love typing games. I thought I typed pretty fast my my accuracy is too low to beat moderate. Thief is my favorite, a little bit of life steal is nice to have. Great job on the art style  really cool choice of greyscale. Great mix of genres.

nice artstyle and very fitting music.

Also the integration of the different POWERs is great.

I wish, i would have more fun with typing-games... but i did not let this affect the rating, as it is really well done.

good jam entry!

nice graphics, nice concept, in short it cooks

(stickmen are evolving I'm scared....)

Really neat idea and you executed it well! The thief definitely felt a bit weaker than the other two but the game is quite fun. I would have loved to see it lean heavier into the fighting game aspect. Adding something like multiple types of attacks and stringing together combos could be a great way of merging the the two kinds of games. Between each attack you could present the player with a number of words to choose from and depending on which word the player starts with, it could be a high attack, low attack, etc or something like that. That probably would have been a bit difficult to pull off in a short time frame and the fact that I would even be thinking about ways to make it even better suggests you really came up with a pretty special idea. Other than that, fully resetting your energy on one mistake did seem a bit harsh but trying to enforce accuracy over speed is a reasonable take. Nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for so much feedback I genuinely appreciate it! The combo is a great idea. I thought about having something like a quick time event when characters attack to pull off a combo doing each motion with each word, or maybe I just display a letter, and even started making an animation for sorcery where electric energy balls would rain from the sky. But I didn't have enough time to really play around with it unfortunately haha

Hi!

Won at a ridiculous level :). What is the difference between difficulty levels? I think it would be nice to add some balance to the game, I have a dial speed of 300+ but I almost always lose :), mostly because every mistake resets all power, maybe it would be easier if it didn't reset all power, just the current one point, or sort long words by levels, for example, the easiest level has the shortest words, the longest has the longest, something like that...

Overall a good game! I had fun! Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you had fun! The difference is the characters per minute that the CPU can type at. I fully agree and plan to modify the difficulty settings so that the game isn't as punishing on lower difficulties. I didn't think of word length though, that would also be a great idea! Especially for the easiest level,  it would be more fun to only use 3-4 letter words.

I love typing games. Good work!

Nice game. Instructions are not so clear :')

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry they weren't clear. If you get a chance, could you let me know what was confusing about the instructions? I'd love to know what I could improve upon for next time

Submitted(+1)

Really cool art style! Losing all your energy when you mistype once feels a bit too punishing.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I completely agree. I plan to alter the difficulty once the jam is over. Make the CPU a little easier on lower difficulties, and only lose all energy on higher difficulties.

Submitted(+1)

love the art been wanting to do something like that myself

Developer

Very cool! I highly recommend mixing some procedural animation with this style. I think there's a lot of cool possibilities :)

Submitted(+1)

The art style is awesome, and the game was fun to play! I like how the words are like related to power, though it did distract a bit from the rest of the game theming. I’m an adequate typist, though my error level definitely hindered me so I had trouble even on Moderate haha. Overall though great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I plan to lower the amount of energy lost when mistyping on low-mid difficulties. I see now that it's too punishing. Thank you for the feedback :)

The most original idea and art style, very refreshing. It would be great to see more elaborate animations on the characters!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I had planned to add another character and better / more animations. Unfortunately I did not have the time for that extra level of polish. Thanks for playing :)

Lovely graphic style and the music fit too. The different classes was a very unusual but excellent addition. And diffuiculty levels too. A polished gem

Thank you! :)

This is one of the most creative and best looking games I've playing in this jam. Well done! It's made me realize I need to practice typing

Developer

Thank you so much! :)

Developer

This game looks great! I found it a little hard but I would say I am not a strong typer and I noticed I was making some mistakes, iIwas playing on normal difficulty. The addition of different classes was really cool and I also liked the music!

Developer

Thank you!
