Fantastic work! Super addictive, love the concept, kinda cool how you get to be the boss. Mini games were really fun, although I never quite got the grasp of the fishing one... that one did me in a little. Great music, graphics are epic, and well done on top ranked. Played for the GitHub Game Off live stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1712660556

This is a great game. All the dialogue with cliches and malaphors. It's a great twist on cliche games and the minigames can be challenging -- but not too challenging. Love this game.

Great job! I was really interested in checking out all the minigames. I love the concept of being the boss. Great humor throughout too.

Great music! I like the dialogue, especially the mispoken cliches. The whole concept of trying to delevel was really interesting to. Only issue was the minigames got a bit too difficult (such as the fish one)

This was a really great entry, likely one of my Jam favorites. Cute story, each little minigame was fun in its own unique way, appropriate level of buy-in being asked from the jammer. I liked the graphical style, from the character designs and the splash screens to the little details like the particle effects on the fireballs. Really enjoyed this one a lot!

Loved the game and theme interpretation, got a bit frustrated at the tetris level but they were fun minigames. Loved the stardew valley fishing

Really fun game! didn't expect so many different modes, good job!

Love the characters and the graphics. The minigames are lots of fun and I had to take my time to finish all of them in the nightmare mode, took me too much time ahahha

Great story too, especially the beginning ahahah (didn't expect it)

Also the sounds and music are good, the game is really well done!

Congrats!

Very well done! I loved the theme interpretation and all the games were fun and engaging. The only suggestion I would make would be to spruce up your music and you're golden!

The art is amazing since you created it yourselves during the jam. I am as artistic as a tree so I am always impressed by people making their own art.

The dialogue was funny, especially with all the bent and mixed up cliches in there ;P

Congrats to the whole team !

I absolutely love this game! Everything is incredibly well made. It's very rare to see games in jams with writing this good! A few of the nightmare challenges were brutal but I had to see all the dialogue and the gauntlet at the end felt great after having spent time mastering the mini-games' progressive difficulty levels. Thanks for making this wonderful little game!

Hallo,

Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;

1. verified: GAME due to in LIST of Most rated, and sample screenshot has noticeable drawing technique

2. notes: noticeable background musical tune to appear to be of PROFESSIONAL GAME DEVELOPERS, where: PROFESSIONAL : receives INCOME from developed and released GAMES; with OVERALL OUTPUT, has PROFIT

3. observed: STORY text as part of GAMEPLAY reminds me of BOWSER’s INSIDE STORY (Nintendo DS)

4. observed: self to reduce screen display's BRIGHTNESS level due to appeared to be excess

5. observed: in “Flirting with Fire” MINI GAME, noticeable FIRE explosion animation technique

6. finished: at least 1/4 of each MINI GAME, albeit in “Worth Your Salt in Gold”, reached 3/4 complete; prefers: to continue with next difficulty level IF had been quickly available; remembers: the Island of Doctor Brain (PC)

7. read: from text, keyphrase: “had you wanted more?” to remind me of "The Mender of Broken Dreams" by COLLINS, NANCY A in SANDMAN: Book of Dreams

8. adds: gloved HAND pixel drawing reminds me of that used in FINAL FANTASY;

9. remembers: GAVIN, ANDY (with RUBIN, JASON) of CRASH BANDICOOT #1 (PS1); shares: observed GAME OUTPUT to require: COMPUTER PROGRAMMER to be a TEAM with ANIMATOR due to NOT QUICKLY DOABLE based on available TIME via only one (1) person;

Thank you. Health!

Hi! Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing :)

I'm not sure what some of your feedback means, but I'll try to respond to a few points

#2 - we're all hobbyists! We're passionate and have some talented folks, but no one is a professional.

#9 - yes, we indeed had a team. 7 in total with varying levels of contribution.

Cool! Four minigames for different tastes. The one about demolishing the castle reminds me of one of my own old projects. Firing people is fun! And the gold puzzle is the reason why this game doesn't participate in 20 seconds Jam?  I didn't get a hang of the fishing game though. :(

I also like the retro style, mimicking old jRPGs in the cutscenes. The only thing I'm confused about is the beginning of the story. Malefor just wipes the adventurers in one swoop but then says that his plans are ruined. What gives?

Developer

Yeah - it was more that he's sick of people trying to interfere. We didn't want to spend too much time on the opening cutscene. You're right that we could have been more clear on that.

Thanks for checking it out and the feedback!

The mixed up cliche dialog definitely made me giggle, and the mini games were smooth and fun. Nice work!
